This would be a great game if it comes to pass, it's been awhile since Hobart and Cortland played. Hobart has actually opted out of ECAC games in the past, but I think there would be interest in this matchup for a young improving Hobart squad.  I would understand Ithaca opting out of another Cortaca or preferring an ECAC game.

Do not believe Hobart has the option of opting in or out of an ECAC bowl game. They are not listed as a dues paying member and you have to be one to apply.

Hobart has declined to participate in the ECACs in recent years, however, with a young team that needs some playoff experience, I would encourage Hobart to sign up. A game against Alfred or Cortland or a chance to play a decent NJAC team would be a great experience.
They haven't participated in the ECACs since 2003. Not a member institution for FB for many years now.

Wow, did not realize that they were not even members.  Getting a 10 game schedule seems much more attainable in 2019, since the NJAC is now looking for OOC games

Hobart dropped out a few years ago from ECAC, not really sure why. Membership is like $1,500 and $1,000 to apply for playoffs. I am checking into this and will offer to pay for it if I get the AD box for the game fully stocked with high end adult beverage 8-) ;D....subject to an invite and qualification for a home game ???

Had more to do with other costs and having to use their officiating staffs, among other items, including Title IX apparently. I think the ECAC ties were cut over 10 years ago, though.

Wasn't there an issue with the ECAC hockey league and Hobart?

Bartman

Hobart was a member of the ECAC West until the league disbanded at the end of the 2016=2017 season . Hobart is now in the New England Hockey Conference and won the NEHC tournament last year over the defending national champion, Norwich.

I watched parts of the RPI-Rochester game as I was hoping the Yellowjackets would outperform today. I was surprised that the Rochester defense had some success in portions of the first half. I do think Coach Martinovich will turn the program around in 2-4 years , but they were outmatched , especially the Yellowjacket offense against the RPI defense. Oh well, RPI marches on, but I do think the Saints may put at least a brief scare into the Engineers next week.

Nothing like a little Tears for Fears to get the week started.  (go to 1:07 if you want to see one of the LL plays of the year, still not sure if this was the dumbest throw I have ever seen, or the smartest)

The film does not do it justice, when I watched it on the computer it was clear that Nabi avoided a massive sack loss by chucking it Charlie Brown style knowing even it was intercepted it was a better outcome on a muddy day. It was actually a smart play, but the outcome made it brilliant. I'm sure having muddy hands necessitated the underarm throw as getting a grip was probably impossible after picking up the errant snap from center.
Too bad the Boz has turf, so there will be no repeat of the old school mud bowl this Saturday. Looking forward to a great game at the Boz and to an inspired massive upset by the Saints in Troy.

I don't know Bartman. While DB would ****ing love this he just doesn't think it's going to happen. SLU has unfortunately returned to it's pre-success form and is just not a good football team. They were abysmal against Union and Union looked like **** and still won by a large margin.

DB really enjoyed SLU having success and felt it was great for the league. With that said once coach packed up and went to Williams it went downhill ****ing fast. There is always hope though.

He may now be DB's new man crush (replacing the aging Chris Sharpe) and would also be an excellent entry into any local or national Movember competition. **** Utah, now DB will be obsessing about taking off the beard in light of the handlebar.
