My crack research team has come up with a few more candidates:

George "the Boss" Steinbrenner played football his senior year at Williams
Bill O Reilly was a punter at Marist (when they were still D3), this one gets an *

1. R Reagan, Eureka
2. R Nixon, Whittier
3. S Palmisano, JHU
4.  B. Belichick, Wesleyan
5.  D Shula, John Carroll
6.   G Steinbrenner, Williams
7.  J Foley, Hobart
8. P Metzelaars, Wabash
9.  K Anderson, Augustana
10 . P Garcon, MU
11.  S Mills, Montclair St

14. M Patricia, RPI
15.  B O'Reilly, Marist *

Florida head coach Dan Mullen played at Ursinus, and I'm too lazy to look it up on my phone but 2 or 3 out of 4 final d1 hockey ADs went to Ithaca.

Caz Bombers

Marist football was only a club sport when O'Reilly played and claimed to be an All-American...not sure they give those in club sports, chief.

Bill was almost famous for his book  "Killing the Single Wing", written with Keith Piper, Coach of Denison, but it was never actually published. As a punter at Marist , Bill was known for always kicking the ball to the right side of the field ;)

For accuracy in political opinion I actually prefer ESPN ::)

For Non-political reasons, purely since he was a punter on a club sport, and not NCAA level football, O'Reilly is kicked off the island.

Nice selection, although a "homer"  for Bartman, Tom, a former lineman for the Statesmen,  certainly qualifies as the founder of Bozzuto Group and the current Chair of the HWS board. He was also the roommate of past Hobart AD, Mike Hanna, a successful D3 footballer in his own right

I am not sure if he played football at Alfred University in the 30's, (Pep may be able to verify) but Dr Norm Schachter refereed the first Super Bowl and two others (V and X) plus the first Monday Night Game and a number of conference championship games. Clearly he was at the top of said profession.

Actually, Pep believes Schachter played basketball at AU. He may have also played football but I remember he was a basketball player and was superintendent of the Los Angeles City Schools.

But if Schachter didn't play football at Alfred, you could certainly go with Bill Schuster, who was a wide receiver at AU during the Sam Sanders era, and who has also worked the Super Bowl as an NFL official. He operates an insurance agency in Livonia, appropriately named Umpire Insurance Agency.

Greg Connors now operates Connors & Ferris Law Firm in Rochester and serves as chair of the AU Board of Trustees. A Hornell native, he was a defensive back at AU:
