I'm listening to the DVC/Wesley game and they just made mention of a d2 transfer on their team. What an embarrassment to Delaware Valley College accepting and playing a transfer student. Horrible, horrible, horrible. They should be ashamed.

Yeah, but I heard they are being monsters and making the kid be an actual student there.  Poor guy might even end up with a DVC degree, for chrissakes.

Ice Bear is curious if the Aggies even suggest he finish one academic semester?

I'll get my pitchfork. I'm headed to Delaware.

I've always thought that "talk-in-the-third-person-Ice Bear" and "Mach" were clowns......................but this stream crystallizes it. You can't teach class to the downtrodden. The D2 transfer you mention moved to be much closer to home. His mother is battling a nasty stage four cancer of the esophagus. But don't let the facts get in the way of a low life rant between two loser posters on the board. Continue with your miserable lives...................and I hope karma bites your.................

Jmcozen,  never met the Mach or Icebear, but unfortunately, I think you are taking their rant out of context.  This whole thing is related to the Joe G transfer from Bport to Ithaca. Unfortunately, the young man (D2 transfer) was pulled into this debate as a purely innocent bystander.  That being said, thanks for bringing this athlete's tragic story to our attention.  Always sobering to remember that these are young student athletes, with unique lives and stories.

Hey MACH remember this...Which Top 25 team is going to lose this week?...You made fun of D3.com'er Ryan Tipps prediction that RPI would lose... Ryan's take: No. 19 RPI. Two teams on different trajectories: RPI graduated a huge number of starters, and Allegheny (insert WPI) has lots coming back to upset the Engineer apple cart.

Not to nit pick but RPI did play Becker early in the 2000's. It was 35-0 after a quarter. There were no further encounters and hopefully there never will be.

I'd say maybe a little KARMA at it's best.  ;D

Dude, 2 drastically different opponents. WPI is pretty good. Ya know what though? I've been trying to get the RPI AD to schedule Anna Maria for years. Too bad. Huge win for you guys. Go celebrate. Just don't break your old as sh!t hip.

Terd.

So you can dish it out but not take it. That figures. I liked you better a little when you were apologizing to everyone last week.  Another thing you should remember. It was RPI that was scheduling the Beckers and Mt. Idas not that very long ago.  ;D  Oh and my hip does still hurt a little from celebrating last year's Shoes game. Thanks for the concern.

You think I was apologizing for real last week? You really are just a clueless crusty old man. For the record RPI has never played Becker or Mt. Ida. You better get off your computer, the Senior Discount Early Bird Special at Denny's ends in 20 minutes. #StillBillToo

Ice Bear says Jmcozen took that fun banter out of context as previously stated. Certainly no intent and disrespect towards the DVC student/athlete and in all seriousness (out of third person), I'll be saying prayers for his mother and family. All the luck in the world to that young man's mother and family. With that said this really had nothing to do with him. Mach and I have fun disagreeing on the Joe G transfer situation. That was just a transfer example, with no specifics, that Mach brought in to make his point. He wasn't trying to point out any "personal" specifics to this young mans unfortunate personal situation.

Second, I learned last year that this is a web site where fun banter is had between die hard d3 fans (whether they be former players like Mach, alum like many others, or just locals who grew up loving their local college and it's sports teams). It should not be taken too seriously (as I once did) and/or looked at as anything more than fun. With that said when someone does get way out of line they are usually called out and don't last too long. It's a website man. We're all just having fun.

As far as the third person goes that's how it the LLPP posters of old post, all in fun and way before you ever came on the boards (even before me). With that said I like what Oline said that even in fun we should keep an awareness about the fact that these young men do have unique situations and we should be careful to never get personal (with the exception of Joe G).

Anyway back to the third person for this loser clown Ice Bear who, partially at least, appreciates some of your post.

Ignoring the back-and-forth over the past page to focus on the football.

Thoughts on the LL after two weeks:

Union: Wins are wins, but there are wins that tell us something and wins that tell us nothing. A win over Anna Maria tells us nothing. Union might be ready to take the LL, they might be in a second-tier in the conference, but we won't know until they play someone that can challenge them.

Buff State: They're clearly more competitive that they were last year, but they're still a step or two below the Hobart/IC/RPI/Union quartet.

St. Lawrence: Last year they lost by 3 to Utica and beat Norwich by 33 en route to a 2-8 season. This year, Utica beat them by 26, and Norwich beat them. I'm abandoning my typical "I don't like to judge teams before they get a home game" approach. St. Lawrence is maybe a bit above Rochester, but who knows.

Hobart: They topped a decent Morrisville team on the road, and the offense did a great job cashing in on great field position for the second week in a row (four of their five TD drives started in Morrisville territory.) That's how you win tough games down the line, by not squandering chances like that. Not the best defensive performance (allowed 6.0 YPP and four long scoring drives of 75 yards plus). But that's still a solid win, and evidence that Hobart is going to be in the mix for a LL title.

RPI: Every year, it seems like RPI just has a game where they just lay an egg on offense. Sometimes (like against IC last year) they win those games anyway. This year, it didn't go so well. I'm still not a believer in Utica (two home wins over teams that are not good does not get my engine revving), but they might be a good test to see if this week was RPI's annual offensive no show, or something to worry about.

IC: No new information. They're going to score if they're healthy, so everything is going to hinge on the young secondary coming together and stabilizing the back end for the Bombers' D.

Rochester: Still not good.

Two wins at home against two of the three bottom teams in the LL isn't going to sell me. But these next two weeks will tell us a lot. RPI and Cortland, on the road, are going to be tests. If the Pioneers perform well—they don't even have to win—I'll bite.

Machiavelli

Oline, PA, IceLip, Jonny U...Thanks for addressing that post much more eloquently than I could. I do find it unfortunate that any player on any team in any town in any division is dealing with hardships like what was mentioned. No one likes hearing that and I think everyone likely feels for said player(s).

I happened to be haphazardly listening to the DVC/Wesley game while doing other things and heard the broadcaster mention a D2 transfer. I have no idea who they were talking about, a name, a position, and quite honestly if it was on DVC or Wesley(I took a stab and picked one of them). I'd be willing to guess there is likely more than 1 transfer on either of those teams. It was something that fit what I believe to be a ridiculous, highly opinionated and judgmental narrative in this message board. In my very typical satirical, sarcastic attempt at humor, I brought it to this board to further show my feelings on how foolish I think the discussion is. End of story there.

Note to outside posters, IceBear and I would very likely enjoy each other's company over beers talking about football in real life. However, on this message board, we disagree on pretty much everything. The best unintentional humor I've read is how we were packaged together in this discussion as if we were both bashing some poor unfortunate kid together, while we were actually both saying the polar opposite things referencing an entirely different conversation, both in sarcastic and satirical tones. Like UFanBill, the term clueless comes to mind here. It's another case of sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. This is a football message board. It used to be fun. People understood sarcasm, humor, and that most things were meant in good fun. My world doesn't change when the team I route for wins or loses. I like to have some friendly banter. But like everything in this day and age, the fun has been sucked right out of it because of overly sensitive PC douchebags.

Henry Rosenbagga has come to this board before to do his/her thing and play the holier than thou card. This is the same person who told us all how successful he/she is and how rich and powerful and how Wall Street algorithmically unchallenged 'they' are. (FYI - Typically, people who tell you how rich and successful they are usually aren't.) With that said, i'll be spending the rest of the day practicing my dives and swimming techniques in my Uncle Scrooge vault filled with gold coins.

Not a great weekend overall for the LL.  2-3.  I would assume that the RPI loss drops them out of contention for the "potential" second playoff spot out of the league.  JHU losing now sets the table for a one loss team from the CC to get that spot (like Muhlenberg last year).  Great OOC games this weekend, looking forward to RPI-Utica, IC-AU and Hobart-Rowan, all will help us understand the how good each team really is.

I would think JHU losing jeopardizes that conference as a whole from going after that spot correct?

You're right clown. The D2 transfer has no right to be sad and his life will get better after mom permanently retires in a month or two. Classless Utah, as always, classless and tasteless. But we've come to expect that from you from time to time. No mention of the player or his mom. The atheist life must be exciting (THAT is sad!!!).

You still don't get that the above thread was in reaction the the boards issue with transfers and not the players family or situation?  You don't seem that dumb, and you usually have intelligent posts and have a good knowledge about the game.  But how can you not see that Ice Bear and Mach's thread about the transfer had nothing to do with his actual situation?  Maybe the internet and the sarcasm along with it has passed over your head with your old age?  If calling people names makes you feel good about yourself, keep going with it.
