This. I agree with Mach, strange to see RPI get 30 votes, but not WPI. Or Brockport still getting votes. Makes me think that some voters aren't even looking at results.

Were it not for that AU punter's gutsy 25-yard run for a first down when the Bombers got greedy and went all-out to block it in the end zone, Pep would say the Bombers outdid the Saxons in special teams play. Bombers would certainly have added to their lead before halftime without that impromptu improvisation....wait, is Pep being redundant all over again? Had the AU punter broken it, could have been the game-changer the Saxons needed to make it more interesting.

That was an excellent play, and I'm glad someone else pointed out that it was likely a call by the punter seeing that it was about to get blocked. Unfortunately, punters just aren't equipped to run for 70-100 yards

Ultimately, though, I thought Alfred's special teams actually broke their back. After IC scored to go up 17-3 and Alfred took the 15-yard penalty, I thought the Bombers' going for the onside kick was a pretty obvious call. With Bahamonde able to get a touchback on a ball kicked from midfield with his eyes closed, there's really no downside to risking the onside, because you're not giving up a lot of field position. Aflred should have been ready for it.

And, unlike last year, the Bombers can take advantage of short fields even when the offense isn't connecting. The long FG gave them a 17-3 lead, and the Saxons' simply don't have the offense capable of a comeback like that. Without Smith, the running game goes from game-altering to merely good. And the passing game just isn't there.

I can assure all that I will respond to every attempt to disparage me or anyone else on this site. Remember this started this season with him insulting D3football's Ryan Tipps for his Quick Hits prediction that RPI would lose to Alleghany one week before their loss to WPI. I came to Ryan's defense. Mach didn't like that.

You went and transformed that to a different game, different opponent, different conversation. But i'm sure you made Ryan feel all warm and cuddly on the inside for your useless response.

Can't argue with you, Bombers. Heard some talk on the sideline...watch for the pooch kick on that kickoff but it was placed right in a gap and a Bomber was the first to get there! Pep couldn't see it but only hoped that the Bomber didn't get a foot down in bounds, but wasn't the case. Well executed onside kick.
Kicker has talent...yeah, can boom kickoffs through the end zone, but it appears he can place the ball where he wants as well.
