This isn't a top ten team.  That should be evident, IC offense suddenly finds itself event he best defensive player on the field gets tossed.

If their best defensive player knew how to tackle, he would be out there.  Now another clown for Hobart gets a flag.  Don't blame it on Ithaca or the refs.  Hobart is killing themselves.

Sure you're correct on everything and because my team is losing I'm totally wrong and just sour grapes.  Really thoughtful.  Whatever we are totally flawed and have a ton of injuries and DeWall has in off a ton of kids some of Whom are very good.  If they don't win the eagle in next two wars then I understand why DeWall was fired from Endicott.

You are only wrong on saying that wasn't targeting and not a grounding?  I mean are you serious?  Both of those are calls a pop warner ref would have made.  Did you see one Hobart coach get upset over either of them?  Then you say the refs missed 3 holds and the refs are giving Ithaca the game and isn't a top 10 teams?  Add in a few Joe G. graduate comments and your have won the sour grapes BINGO game in 5 tries....

Ok Utah your right on everything.  Cool.  Enjoy the season.

lol you gotta relax dude.  It's a game.  But you are making all these crazy negative passive aggressive statements that don't jive with what football is about.  Whatever.  Hobart is a good football team who may be the best or 2nd best team in the LL.  If this is close and Ithaca destroys Union, it really puts things in a different perspective.  I saw that Union/Hobart game.  I saw how flat Hobart was.  If those two teams played next week at Hobart I bet Hobart wins by 3 TD.  I would bet on it.

If Ithaca played at Hobart next week Hobart I would put my money on Hobart too.  Just saying they aren't bad and would be tough to beat a second time that's all.

For the record, Jonny Utah woulda won the Heisman if it weren't for that damn knee injury.

Ice Bear

Ice Bear is very happy with the U's win today over a very gritty, athletic, and focused SLU team. Union over came first half adversity by really dominating the second half. Ice feels this Union team has character and heart. With that being said he feels they seem to still have a lack of cohesiveness for periods during games that makes them quite vulnerable at times.

Ice Bear was super impressed with the play of SLU Soph QB and Canadian Tyler Grochot. Tyler threw the ball 47 times this afternoon completing 27 passes for 341 yards and 2 TDs. SLU's O-line gave Grochot time most of the game (minus a few breakdowns to a very strong Union D-line) and Ice would argue he made ZERO costly mistakes with that time. Grochot exposed the Union D's weakness, pass defense. This is obviously super worrisome when thinking about playing the Bombers at Butterfield in two weeks. Also worth mentioning was the play of Junior WR Andrew Murphy. Murphy had 142 yards and 2 TDs often gaining separation with his speed and running tight routes to find open space much of the day. Kid is a heck of an athlete. Ice feels similar about Junior WR Anthony Ferraro as well. Hats off to SLU today on a heck of a football game.

Union's ground game was it's savior this afternoon. Ike ran for 178 on 25 carries/1 TD and no fumbles (kid was a work horse) and his counter part Joseph Ferreira was also impressive with 2TDs and 79 yards. Union's Oline dominated at times and it potent backfield certainly took advantage. Also Andre Ross was in the house today with 2 TD catches, one being a spectacular catch on a Will Bellamy overthrow. Ice and Ufan are still wondering why the Dutch are not targeting Ross more. Griffen Beal was also superb with a very timely 4 catches for 36 yards. Bellamy threw for 197 and 2 TDs with no INT's.

Here is Ice Bear's current top 4 LL rankings:
1.) Ithaca
2.) Union
3.) Hobart
4.) RPI

Ice Bear says if Union can hold serve against Buffalo State next week there will be a much anticipated showdown in Ithaca between two undefeated and nationally ranked teams. While Ice still isn't sure his Dutch are a top 25 team he believes they are close and have some real potential. However if the pass D does not improve Union will be in obvious trouble against a very potent IC offense. As of now Ice does feel IC is clearly the top dog in the league and region. It will be interesting to see what happens when the two square off. IC is the obvious favorite for good reason.

Lastly (and Ice will drop it after this post) Ice really hopes Bombers comes back. He means that ****.

Thoughts on the Hobart -IC game today.  Hobart needed a perfect game to be in the game today.  Looked possible after Q1, that targeting call was tough, losing our #1 LB changed the momentum instantly.  It seemed to also change the approach by the Hobart defense, played the rest of the game with a  3 man rush and few (maybe zero?) blitzes.  That is not the way to beat Joe G.  Missing a chip in field goal at the end of the half was painful, game went from 7-3 to 14-0 in 90 seconds.  Lastly, Joe G is for real.  Great athlete, good runner, great passer, and has some serious football sense.  He turned at least 4 plays that should have been tackles in the backfield into big plays (2 for TD's).  He is clearly the difference maker in the LL this year, sets IC way ahead of the rest of the pack

Yea well said Oline.  Joe G. And some of Gladney's catches his year while covered are the differences between Ithaca and other teams.  Hobart's run defense was solid, although I think the run game is Ithaca's biggest concern, not their defense.  Too many inside zones and I'm not sure if they are doing that to just keep the defense honest or what but they just haven't been that great at it.  Hobarts defense in that first quarter was also different you are right.  I couldn't tell who was blitzing or who wasn't.  Then they stopped that all together once emitt got tossed.  Not sure Hobart would have been able to squeak that one out anyway, as their offense is limited.  Hobarts QB was missing on some throws and twice in the red zone he couldn't come up in the clutch in what appeared to be a few WRs who were open.
