Probably the same reason they don't run the ball.  I'm guessing they simply feel they can score more points by having Joe G. take the snap every play and let him take control.  Have to admit it's worked 7/8 times this season.

Sure. There are worse hills to die on than "Give the ball to one of the best players in the region."

It's just a massive change from the Welch era, and of course, it jumps out when it backfires.

Ice agrees that it must be a tough call to NOT put the ball in Joe G's hands. Not only is the kid experienced, athletic, the best athlete on the field, and one hell of a competitor, he is also physically solid. Ice doesn't know about everyone else but sometimes after a play he is waiting for the skill player to not get up. Is he hurt? Is he limping? Are we using him too much and putting him in a position to get hurt because of fatigue? ****, with Germinerio he almost comes across like a man amongst boys. When watching IC play Ice has not once thought that he would get hurt. So Ice can see that every play there is that voice that says, forget the field goal...give the ball to the ERPOTY and All-American. He's just a strong solid looking kid...with that said he's no Chris Sharpe though ;D.

But is he also a Jason Boltus?  ::)

At this point in his journey.........................in many cases, he IS a man amongst boys. He has voiced his opinion on many occasions that we will be seeing him on Sundays. If Joe Callahan (Wesley) bounced around for a few years, could Joey G. have a legit NFL career?

I have seen Shane Sweeney in person.  He had better arm, and equal field presence.  He had no interest from the NFL.  I never saw Callahan in person, so I can't comment.  IMO, Germ is an excellent D3 College QB, next level....I don't  see it

Simple.  No

He reminds me almost exactly of a quarterback (John Fadule) that I coached against in high school.  Walked on at BC and after a few injuries actually started a few games (one big one against Norte Dame at Fenway Park). Fadule could have probably started at Holy Cross or Colgate, but wanted to try to walk on at BC.  It worked out I guess although he isn't an NFL player and probably want close.  I mean think of all the backups on D1 rosters that don't make make it, or starters for that matter.

He does have a good arm, and makes real difficult throws to the field sideline with precision.  So I have no idea if that's good enough for the next level, but just based on history the odds are against him.

When do the official RR get released ?

Joe Germinerio in the NFL ???...Let me remind everyone that he began his career at FCS UAlbany where he did not take the field as a quarterback. In fact in the UAbany spring game in April 2016 Joe G wearing #33 caught 3 passes for 20 yards, long of 10. He got no playing time his freshman year at Albany. (I'm not sure if that was injury related) Following that year he transferred to Brockport. Evidently he wanted to play QB and the UAlbany staff disagreed. He proved them wrong..

So who is the parent of a Ithaca player who verbally attacked Frank Rossi after the game on sat? Guy should not be allowed back on campus.

Ask him.  He isn't really trying to keep it private.

If you have attended any IC game this year, it is not hard to notice this particular guy....

I don't know anything about this story, but Frank is constantly finding himself in the middle of controversy. At what point do people start thinking maybe he's the problem?

UAlbany gave us Hobart's Shane Sweeney and Joe Germinerio, two great D3 AA Quarterbacks. If  Joe G. has a fantastic game on the big Metlife stage he will get some looks like Joe Callahan of Wesley did.....you never know.

UPDATED:Gladney/Germinerio of 2019 thru 8 games(projected to 11 game schedule) vs. Shed/Sweeney of 2016(11 games):

          QB                           Yards                      Ints                     TDs

Sweeney(2016)                  3,436                       6                          36

Germinerio(2019)               3,614*(2629)          8.25*(6)                 38.5*(28)

        WR

Shed(2016)                         1284                                                    17

Gladney(2019)                    1115*(811)                                           16.5*(12)

* Pro rata of 8 games projected to 11 games for comparison

Well, these All American Connections look pretty close when you project the IC combo for 11 games( Hobart ended the 2016 season by losing to Mount Union at the Boz 38-24 in the playoffs)Ithaca has RPI and Cortland left on the schedule, not exactly shut down secondaries....so look for the GladGerm to pull ahead

The St. Johns QB is better and I don't think it is close.  I'm guessing he will be fighting for 2nd team.
