Reading this, I'm thinking Ithaca-Brockport in the Playoffs might need some extra security......seriously...NCAA might want to avoid this match up .

I wouldn't actually mind this matchup. It would probably have to wait until second round.

Does RPI have a fighters chance against Ithaca this weekend? Does Utica have a chance against Union. Utica would allow for Cortland, Brockport and Union to have a common opponent.

I can't see how RPI, who got waxed by St. Lawrence and barely got by Buffalo State, can stop the Bombers' offense. Union's got an excellent defense, and that's why they were able to do so.

Utica, I simply give up. They are the most inconsistent program ever. Union's better than they are, though. That I believe

Ice Bear says absolutely. Ice thinks this will be a close game and a dangerous one for a couple of reasons.

1.) Ice says The Dutch will most likely have a let down after touching the sky. This is the most success this new team and staff have had...Saturday is not going to be easy. As a former athlete Ice remembers having some let downs even when in his head he believed he was focused.

2.) Ice believes that while Utica is probably one of the hardest ****ing teams to put a finger on that they are athletic, have shown prowess at times this year on both sides of the ball, and when on, can be very dangerous. The possibility of their talent and being on, matched with Union's possible let down can meet upset.

3.) Ice says Union has never defeated the Pioneers during the regular season...ever (to Ice's knowledge and he is currently to ****ing lazy to fact check this...talk about let downs). Utica played a big OOC role in Union's demise and they have everything to play for and nothing to lose.

4.) Ice says Union may/can lose this game and still do great things, however an elite team, if Union is such, within the region, should be able to handle business against any opponent that is not as good as they are. We'll see Saturday. Knowing you're going to the NCAA's with two football games remaining that really don't mean a ton (arguable thought) may prove hard to get up for.

5.) Ice believes the next two weeks will be a big challenge for the excellent Garnet coaching staff.

Too much dancing around the real point - I am correct to assume from all this that the parent in question was Papa Germinerio?

Yea.

I saw something Frank posted on his Facebook page and asked him about it.  He gave me a reasonable answer.  Bottom line is that he should feel safe at an Ithaca football game without being threatened or bullied by anyone.  But I don't want speak for with him either and I wasn't there.  Frank is Frank.  Like ITH said, he reports on the good and bad of d3football and that isn't going to make everyone happy.  We can agree or disagree with his opinions on transfers, or with his basic fact reporting on felony juvenile cases for d3football stars (Mt. Union QB situation).  But like ITH said again, people like to read about those things, and we can thank Frank for doing the legwork for us.  I'm sure Mt. Union didn't appreciate Frank digging into a student's case and making it public, but it was public, and it was news, and I was someone who was at least interested in reading it.  And those were Facts as well.  I think part of the problem is that d3football.com is the only game in town.  Notre Dame isn't going to tell ESPN that they aren't allowed on campus because ESPN wrote some negative story about some player right?  Why should d3football.com be any different?  If Frank reported on something that wasn't true or was lied about, then put out a statement.  Don't be a bunch of babies and shut the program down to the one place that actually cares about you.  (I should add that a lot of this is third hand, so if some of it is untrue or there is more to add then correct me)

But to Mach's point, he also hits a lot of nails on the head.  Frank on this board at least has been tough to argue with.  From the original Audino issue at Union and his issues with the school, to the current beefs that keep coming up, Frank finds himself in a lot of ****storms for whatever reason. Some of that has to come back to him, but even he has admitted some of that in the past.  To Mach's point about social media, that also can be an issue, and the perception of Frank and the incidents that are reported on don't always come out clean.

I think the bottom line here is that Frank does a great job at what he does, and has the balls to confront situations that others might be afraid to take on.  He also has the right to feel safe on the Ithaca campus, and shouldn't have to deal with that kind of nonsense if it's true.  But Frank is a big boy, he can speak for himself.

Ice says a good summary here Utah. Ice won't touch the rest of this with a ten foot poll. He appreciates all perspectives that have been shared here (Mach).

6.) The Ithaca game was very physical for both sides. Ike Irabor went into the game not at 100% and played like a warrior. It's imperative that he be available for the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays very little or not at all against Utica this week...maybe save him for the "Shoes".

Ice Bear is right about Union never beating Utica. After roughing the Pioneers up in scrimmages for a couple of years they scheduled games in 2011,12,13,14. Utica won all four. That was an indication of serious problems brewing for the Dutchmen.

A H-U-G-E congratulations to the Union College offensive line for being named to this week's " Team of the Week".  RT-Mat Langsam, RG-Teddy Hood,C-Ryan Ehrets,LG-Chris Katchadurian, LT-Tim Driscoll were beyond outstanding in Saturday's win at Ithaca. Also deserving recognition is TE Spencer Crystal whose blocking was key in springing RB Ike Irabor. Nice job guys. :)

Yea I think their dline could have gotten it as well (but I guess letting up almost 500 yards wouldn't have been the right choice) but I think Union's dline was a good group in that game.  Gioioso was a beast and all three guys had pressure all day.  I noticed that Union had 8 "QB hurries" and although I know what it is, I've never really looked at the stat before.  But the eight hurries were the most any team had against Ithaca this year, and I think that was a factor.

I agree but as a whole D-lines do not get recognition. Daniel Gioioso did get Team of the Week honors last year Week#11 following the RPI game.

Couldn't agree more UB.  Never hear the LB's thanking their D Line, like the RB's are taught to do after every game  ;D.  Since everything is Stat based (tackles, TFL, sacks) it is very hard to gauge the D line play.  On an unrelated topic, do coaches pick the players on the all league teams or is it someone else?

Coaches pick the all-conf teams and (at least from the LL perspective), it's based on stats in league play, not overall.

Can't believe that Hobart didn't make the top 10 in rankings at this point.  #5 SOS in entire country!  Can't figure how WPI or Wilkes can be ranked ahead...

Ice Bear says what he always does...because the regional rankings ARE NOT rankings of the best teams in the region...they are a cluster of ****...but enjoyable to look at, sometimes laugh at, talk about, etc..
