I have wondered about this as well.  Seems like SJF, Hartwick or Alfred would have been a better "general" fit for the league?  Keep the Empire 8 primarily state schools/ LL more private liberal arts schools.

Not to be picky but including Utica College makes the E8 primarily a private school league, 4-3

To be picky, the ratio may be consider 4-4 or 4-3.5  This would account for the SUNY College of Ceramics at Alfred University.  Just another unique aspect, as the College of Ceramics is a statutory college of SUNY with associated NYS costs, located at a private university.

Similar institutions are at Cornell -Veterinary Medicine, and Syracuse - College of Forestry.   Who would of thunk

I've always thought Alfred would be a perfect fit for the LL.  Then you'd have four SUNY schools (Cortland, Brockport, Buff. St, Morrisville) plusk, SJF, and Utica for a nice Western NY league.  Could always try to pull in Alfred St. for an even 8.

After last year I'll take a .500 season.   Quite the game in Buffalo today, both QBs were dueling.  Buff State did not play like a 1 win team.  I know we're not stellar on defense but they played very well.    Grochot finishes the year about 20 yards short of 3000 yards along with 26 TDs, and that's missing almost 2 full games.   Might actually have a lot to look forward too next year as all of the play makers on offense return next year.

Nice game by the saints over a pesky Bengals team.....Saints in the mix next year and Bengals should also improve

Hobart ready for the MegaBowl after a 51-20 win over a never say die Yellowjacket team.

We just need the Bombers to finish off the Dragons in the next few minutes for serious superiority over the E8 this year.

What happened?

Refs threw a Cortland player out of the game for making contact with a ref.  I didn't see it but it happened after an Ithaca interception that out the game away
