Both sides got called out and asked to be better for it. Lama's move was bad, but he was egged on by the SU RT and there's proof of that fact. He still shouldn't have come in like that - we said it, repeatedly. Frank hasn't defended Union much since 2015, so I'm not sure where that came from but whatever. Just bc you don't like or have a personal issue w. the messenger, the message is still a fair one to make imo. Plenty of others, including grads of both schools agree.

I think this is a very solid take.  The Union LB acted dumb, the seagull taunting dance team acted dumb, life goes on.  I'm pretty the players on both sides put in the past by the time the hit the locker room.  (Though not the Salisbury coach, who went on to whine about it on the local news; I would not have pegged him for the whiny type.) Also, don't know what the Union LB was thinking - he bounced off those 2 300-pound lineman like a ping pong ball.  Clearly hadn't thought that one through.

Jack Reilly throwing the ball on the roof, with a pick six being his last play as a Dutchman, was totally unsportsmanlike, and also one of the best things I've ever seen.

Behrman is a great coach.  I guarantee he forgot about it all 10 seconds after it happened, and was 100% focused on recruiting for next season the moment he left the press conference.

I agree with all of the takes, including yours, except for the "forgot about it 10 seconds after it happened". Boys will be boys, emotions running high, LB made a mistake, I get all of that. But hopefully the coach brings it up as a teaching moment, because it is not a good look for him, or the program.
And while I didn't see it, if the Salisbury coach brought it up to the local news, don't like that move either.

As for Salisbury I just don't see an option offense like that make it to the final.  I can't remember the last time I've seen any team run an option like that in a national championship game at any level of college football.  The old Georgia Southern teams maybe?
Good take, but I think Salisbury's problem is going to be there defense. Maybe Union had a fantastic game, but they were moving through that D.

Agreed.  Union had a good offense this year but some of Salisbury's defensive breakdowns were glaring.

Both sides could have acted better no doubt.  But I would hardly call the RT's "hand curl" a fact that he was egging anyone on.  Lama didn't even hit him he hit the RG and even after that no one really did anything except the QB (who was a little out of line as well)

Oh, didn't mean to suggest he wouldn't take it up with the whole team - he's a drill sergeant, and I'd hate to be that LB this week. Just meant the Salisbury side of the drama.

Yo man, blink twice on your next show if you're being held captive. Someone will notice and send out the LLPP rescue squad. Maybe HollaDawg will come out of the smoke screen to save you. Seriously though, you are absolutely allowed to have your own opinions on stuff. That said, you didn't say a whole lot in that 5-10 minute section about the situation which says a lot. Ultimately what this has come down to is one person defending his own actions of hastily posting a video to social media with commentary trying to make an entire program look bad. Very shortly after, additional footage came out showing a different side of the story, and instead of it being a smear campaign on said program, there was yet another spin and it's turned into a 'everyone was wrong' situation.

If the first video was never posted, none of this would even be discussed, because this stuff literally happens ALL THE FREAKING TIME and most of us don't really care. But now it's a situation and just HAS to be talked about. In that particular 5-10 minutes, social media was brought up as being bad...Yes, it sure as sh!t is bad. It started this stupid discussion about nothing in the first place because someone wanted click bait. Then it turns in the comments to some poor sap Union person getting yelled at in the parking lot to enjoy their ride back and yadda yadda yadda.<Barf in my mouth> Now all of a sudden Salisbury football, it's coach, anyone associated with Salisbury, and all it's fans are all bad eggs right? This entire discussion is so stupid. I'm completely sure there was no name calling at the tailgate for the Alabama/Auburn game this past weekend.  But being that it was at Auburn, if there were naughty people there, when the Auburn fans delightfully flipped double freedom rockets at Alabama fans as they vacated the parking lots, it showed that all of Auburn has no class. When did we all forget this is what sports is?

What bothers me the most are the comments about the Salisbury QB doing the 'beauty queen wave' and calling out yet another D3 KID. There's a recurring theme here of calling out these kids. Sure, they can be called adults, but they are kids. So tell me about the 'adults in the room' again? But we all know Coach Behrman walked over to all the Salisbury guys handing out Rosary beads and telling them how many Hail Mary's he'd say for them, right. Another interesting spin to feed a single sided commentary.

Long story short, none of this should even be a discussion and wouldn't have been if a sh!tstorm weren't started on social media for no apparent reason other than sour grapes.

You can GTFOH, Lewis and stop being such a high and mighty prick. I can speak for myself but had less to say on the matter bc I pretty much agreed with what Frank had to say.

He posted the scoreboard at the end of the game like he has for every single game he's attended for the past several years. It wasn't his fault something negative was caught on it. You hang to your personal beefs about "single sided commentary" (hey, kettle meet pot) and let the rest of the intelligent fans on here make their own judgment calls like JU, Doid, IB OL89 and others.

Well that was an aggressive and unexpected response. That video posted was not to show the scoreboard, why are you lying about that? Maybe that was the initial intent when the little red button was pressed, but that wasn't the intent of the video being posted. A still frame of the scoreboard woulda done that trick. The intent of the video that was posted was to call Salisbury classless and show how horrible they all are so the pitch fork team can come out and pile onto the situation. Big Ben, Parliament. How do you not see that? Consequently, god forbid, someone posted something contradicting the take and the entire situation took a turn and now it's not a Salisbury problem but an 'everyone is at fault' problem. Come on man, you're smarter(or should I say 'more intelligent') than that. You've always been a straight shooter and i've always respected you, your posting here, and your opinions(outside of TOP stuff) so I won't go any further on that with you.

Not sure if I am worthy enough to be included in the "others". I listened to the podcast( not much competing material out there other than D3.com especially since Mach and JU have not yet delivered on the TOP opinion express). All the comments here seem pretty sound , Union LB commits bush league act and SU players react to it like 18-22 YOs do, etc. One relevant point that Frank opined on was the mistake of escalating on social media , which is true . I do not look at twitter very often but it can be a nasty medium, so while Frank's comments are valid, he did seem to be more critical of whatever the flow of SU player/fans comments were on social media, stating that SU is better than that. Since I  chalk it up to the post game 'testosterone" I won't be viewing the posts and judging Frank's comments. Now, not many people give a **** about D3 football the way we all do( please reference the anemic attendence last weekend....ranging from 500 to 2500 for playoff games)....so, I appreciate the comments/opinions from all who share the D3 football passion. Hopefully the Union/SU coaches will use the end of game mess as a teachable moment, because acknowledging the effort of the loser and the triumph of the winner is priceless and is a lesson that must be passed on with honor and grace.

Hobart OLB Emmett Forde named to first team AFCA All American team.   Gladney (only other LL player) named to second team.  Congrats to both players, awesome achievement

Wow, it is very impressive that the coaches voted Forde AA first team defense. Perhaps there are more South Boston prospects we can pry out to Geneva. Congrats to Will Gladney and Ithaca for the recognition as well.

Meh.  St Thomas has a well-earned reputation for crashing victory formations.  They even did it against Mount in one of their losing Staggs (is there any other kind of Stagg for UST?  Well, no, there isn't).  Heck, you feel slighted if UST doesn't play dirty or cheap against you.

But come back to this when one of the LL teams' coaches organises a victory-celebrating team photo on the opposition side's mid-field logo.  Or goes for a two-point conversion with a blind, behind-the-back flip of the ball against a team that they went on to beat 80-3.  When that happens then you've got someone to complain about.  Until then, amateur hour.
