For the third time in four weeks Union has landed a player on the D3football Team of the Week. This time it's Jr. LB Tommy Cavallo .
"Cavallo played an instrumental part for Union's defense in a 30-9 win against Utica. The Dutchmen defense held Utica to only 47 yards on the ground, no touchdowns, and were 5-for-5 on fourth down stops. Cavallo had six tackles on the day, including three tackles for a loss of 17 yards. He also registered a sack in the third quarter on a key third down and a pass breakup".

The Union Defense was a question mark coming into this season with only 4 starters returning but it has shown to be formidable with many new additions such as Cavallo stepping up. Fire the Cannon  ;D

UFAN congrats on the talent development, but you know this term triggers me......I am normally a strong second amendment guy, but I hope Governor Hockul grabs your cannon with a revision to the "Safe Act" to eliminate annoying weapons of war

Something to smile about...There are 28 conferences (leagues) nationwide that play D3 football. Every year the fine folks here at D3football.com rank the conferences (thanks guru Greg Thomas) by quality of teams and play. A lot of that ranking is based on historic playoff results and current OOC (out of conference) non league game results. The Liberty League has proudly risen in these ranking in recent years. This year's ranking is out and the LL stands at #7 bolstered by their excellent 19-6 OOC record. The rival E8 is ranked #9.  ;D...The LL leads the E8 in their match-ups 8-4 with three of those Ls by BuffSt. ::). There are three LL/E8 games scheduled for later in the season. Roch/Hartwick, BuffSt/Brockport and of course the Cortaca, Ithaca/Cortland.

Ufan, good post. The Liberty League is having a special year which is exciting following the cancellation of last season. I can't wait to see how the undefeated sort themselves out. Union is the favorite, but whichever team makes it through the LL gauntlet will be battle tested for the playoffs( I'm thinking a pool C pick is a possibility this year).Saint Lawrence looks to be upset minded as well, especially if they are Covid free. All eyes on Ithaca-Hobart this weekend for the first showdown of the undefeated.

WEEK 5 LL PICKS:

Bartman is 23-2 on picks YTD and the LL is 19-6 Out of Conference:

October2;

UNION                   49           Buffalo State                 10         Union takes it easy on the Bengals

Rochester               10           RPI                               28        The Yellowjackets are real, but can't score enough

Hobart                    31           Ithaca                          30         Bombers have a hard time scoring TDs in the red zone,
and Bahamonde kicks a record 10 fieldgoals as
Hobart ends the Bfield curse. Bartman is totally not
objective as he would make a deal with the devil
to win in Bomberville for the first time ::)

Good predictions although I hope you are wrong on the IC/Bart game.  You also missed a key LL matchup this weekend that I can add:

Science: 77
Dr. Shirley Jackson: 0

And just to add to this prediction.  This is the 5th week in a row that Dr. Jackson will face off against Science.  Dr. Jackson is 0-4 on the season.  Each week Science pounds the rock, throws the ball at will and scores whenever it wants too.  I've heard Science even told Dr. Jackson what plays they are going to run and Dr. Jackson simply ignores it and continues to do the same thing.  Will things change this week?  The answer is no.

The TOP over/under lines are off the board because Dr. Jackson often punts on 1st down.  This impacts the TOP numbers like you wouldn't believe.  Science on the other hand is usually very predictable and reliable (I mean it is Science after all).  If Science was playing Union this weekend I might get a line for you.

Sorry Mach.

Based on what and who I know of from Union, Science absolutely OWNS Union. I think Shirley might have an advantage there to be completely honest, marginally. Most Union folks don't even know Science exists. Ask a Union person about Husson or Science. You'll get the same response....'Never heard of them'.

Queen Jackson is awesome when it comes to TOP.....she cares nothing for the ball, she possesses the entire field behind her fortress. Her power and strength are unsurpassed in Troy and the fortress shall remain impenetrable except for the gridiron slaves and local villagers that play for her pleasure. Mock her not.....she is keeping you all safe.

It looks like the Hobart defense will be without Emmett Forde (AA Outside Linebacker) and Bryan Aquilar(Middle Linebacker) as neither is on the published depth chart for the Bombers game. Hobart is deep at LB , but not having these two stalwarts for the game is a heavy burden. The offense , especially our two headed running attack in Denham and Boswell(Hobart team is #1 in the country for rushing TDs), will need to control the ball and keep the Bombers off the field. Exciting to have a game of consequence so early in the season. GOBART!

Hobart and Ithaca going back and forth in the 1st.

Hobart has a twins set on fourth down and the the inside WR motions back into the punt formation.  I am asking myself why doesn't Hobart throw to one of those guys (Ithaca clearly only has one guy covering them).

I mean I hope they don't fake it  but man ....

Jonny Utah

Hobart/Ithaca great game so far.

But Holy ****the camera angle switches in the middle of every ****ing play.  They go from the normal angle (live every normal ****ing football game in the country) to this side angle that you can't tell what the **** is going on.

So ****ing annoying.

Jonny Utah

Now I think someone is playing a trick on us.  Every play they switch to an angle where you have no idea who has the ball, how much needs to be gained for a first down, etc etc.  What a joke.
