All things considered, there's a ZERO percent chance that the NCAA had Endicott ranked ahead of RPI with 2 losses and that garbage land conference they play in. I DO think the geographic distance was potentially discussed there, though, in that Endicott is only about 3 hours and wouldn't be completely screwing the team over due to the Administration's BS. It just wouldn't have been fair to send RPI out 6 or 7 hours to make a statement or something to that extent when they should be hosting. It's not the players or coaches at fault and making asinine decisions, so I commend the NCAA committee if that was, in fact, considered. I do think RPI earned a home game and it's a complete shame they won't be able to host as it's not an every year opportunity. Hopefully the RPI players, coaches, parents, alumni, etc etc, have some strong feedback for Dr. Know-It-All when this is all said and done and her driver picks her up and takes her away from Troy forever to never be seen again. Possibly banished to Hoboken, NJ. History will not be kind to her.

I also don't think RPI would be a 'home' team in the 2nd round if they were to make it there, with the exception of a substantial first round upset. I'm pretty sure Cortland is going to beat Springfield by like 50. But crazier things have happened.

In any case, while Endicott plays in a pretty horrible conference, I DO think they are a very good team. Their program has kind of taken on the(dating myself here big time) old Curry program, when Dem Spicy Boyz played against the sisters of the poor, but became really competitive outside the conference when they started scheduling good OOC opponents and playing in the post-season YOY. They were able to compete and even win against non-Pop Warner teams. I think Endicott is the new Purple Drank, and I think they've followed the 'Curry Model' quite well. I also DO think they can beat RPI if RPI overlooks them or doesn't play well.

Mach's wife is an Endicott grad, so we'll also have some in-house bragging rights at stake. I still like RPI in this one, much like in the same fashion they've been winning, but maybe they won't wait until the last second to pull off a W. I'm not sure my heart health can take another one of these nail biters. I'll go with a 24-14 W for the LL champs.

Mach,I love Shirley in the big red wig on the zoom call! RPI will keep Endicott to single digits and win by 10, and have another road game. Condolences to your wife for the anticipated loss . GOOD LUCK!

The 8-2 Hobart Statesmen , the ONLY slayers of the mighty LL Champion RPI Engineers, will travel to Westminster College for the premier ECAC Bowl matchup. I was originally disappointed and wanted one more BOZ game for the boys and their parents, but instead we have a VERY meaningful and challenging game against the Co-Champions of the PAC Conference. This is a serious match-up and I know the Statesmen will make the most of it. In 2019, we kicked the RedDragon's a** in the NY State Bowl on the road, and I'm feeling the boys can rise to the challenge again. Bartman's last picks of 2021 later in the week. GOBART!

The RPI Administration gathered for a ZOOM viewing of the RPI/UNION Dutchman SHoes game this past weekend.

Incredibly, at least based on Frank Rossi's podcast interview with the chair of the NCAA committee, the NCAA did indeed rank Endicott ahead of RPI. The reason given was the Endicott was ranked third in the region 1 final regional rankings while RPI WAS "only" ranked fourth in the region 2 final regional rankings. According to the chair there were absolutely no other "factors" besides that one even discussed.

Somehow the guy managed to keep a straight face spewing something that has about as much chance of holding water as an Asian Pacific gal has of ending up with the guy at the end of a Hallmark movie.

Left out of the chairs' explanation were the facts that of the 27 conferences with auto bids, the highest ranked conference of the five (six if you count NESCAC which was not rated) making up region 1 was the MAC at #14. The other four (CCC, NEWMAC, MASCAC & ECFC) were ranked 19th, 20th, 25th & 26th respectively. Conversely, the LOWEST ranked conference of the five making up region 2 was the NJAC at #16. The other four (CC, LL, E8 & PAC) were ranked 6th, 7th, 9th & 10th respectively.

The chair was not getting much help from out of conference results either as region 1 was 52-60 while region 2 was 50-43. If these were baseball standings region 1 would be 7 and a half games behind. Not all that sure that the team from Remember The Titans could have avoided being regionally ranked if they played in the soda pop valley circuit called region 1. Even if Ryan Gosling started every game!!!

Should RPI win this Saturday and three loss Springfield somehow manages to pull one out, the chair is just going to have to do a whole lot better than he did this week to explain how RPI ends up playing AT Springfield on November 20. Maybe then he will just come out and say that the NCAA does not want fans leaving any of the tournament games because they have to go in to the woods to piss.

Tony, that is  F***ed up logic that Endicott was ranked in another weak region higher than RPI. Although, I think everyone at Endicott game should piss in the woods to even things up.

Based on the logic Tony mentions, if the 'Region 1' top seed was 6-4(not entirely impossible), they'd be ranked higher in the tournament than the 2-8 seeds in a different region? It's a complete crock of sh!t, but I understand why they may want to dodge the question. Everyone is afraid of Darth Shirley. I heard she can do that socially distanced choke technique using the force, and can even do it through Zoom calls. It's very wise. Very wise. Union and Ithaca turn in their pads...So I know why Union has opted out of playing an ECAC bowl game, they're studying  ::) but what about LL Co-Champ Ithaca? Seems they've had enough. Nothing to gain???....I've long held the opinion that ANY post season game is a reward. Isn't it a chance to play together one more time?  A chance to help recruiting? A chance to try something new or work on something old while getting a look at next year's team? A chance to pad some stats? A chance to make one more memory?...Ah, that's probably it. They've lost 2 straight ECAC bowls. With no worthy matchup why chance a third.

The vision of Darth Shirley, standing over Mach's body with her hands on those big hips and hearing that loud rythmed breathing for a long while,  then we hear her words through the super filtered Covid mask.......he should have submitted to my powers ..... no one mocks Darth Shirley......when you awaken your spirit  will spend eternity wandering the Hill overlooking East Campus Stadium

we played in those toilet bowl games in 2018 and 2019 and lost both times. It's pointless. Nobody cares. The players don't even care. All it does is hurt the program's stature to lose to Utica and whatever Pennsylvania team it was two years ago. Waynesville and Jeffminster or something.

go to the playoffs, like a real program, or turn your gear in and enjoy Thanksgiving break because you didn't get it done.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I know the Hobart team is excited to play a good team from the PAC and take the chance of getting a win in enemy territory. Westminster is probably right next to Jeffminster.

Congrats to all of the ALL LIBERTY LEAGUE selections announced today. Especially Hobart's  Tim Denham as Offensive Player of the Year and Emmett Ford as Defensive Player of the Year. Tim had over 1000 yards and split time with the dangerous Rayshawn Boswell who was also named to the first team. Emmett played hurt for most of the year with a bad shoulder , but was able to claim this award for the second consecutive year(2019, also first team AA that year). RPI had the most (16) followed by Union(15), Ithaca(14),Hobart(13),Rochester(6),Saints(5) and Buff State(3). Thanks to some great athletes and a fantastic season.

I think it all depends on the team.  Boston College voted not to go to a Bowl game last year because the season had just been enough for them (covid/restrictions/etc).  I can only imagine the ups and downs certain programs take up to that last game.  I thought the Ithaca/Salsbury game a few years ago was great.  I even loved the Ithaca/Utica game at Cornell.  Last year vs W&J was blah.  I'm not in the locker room though so I don't know and don't want to comment on it.  I've played in one ECAC game and it was blah.

Denham I think was the best player in the league this year.  You can tell watching him that he is the best athlete on the field.  I didn't know he and Boswell were juniors.  Gotta watch out for Hobart next year.  They obviously lose some studs on defense and their QB but they always find a way to reload.
