For what it's worth, RPI dominated the TOP through 3 quarters.  Letting it slip away now.....

Ice Bear hits you with a +k Mach on a ****ing awesome season for RPI. Tough day, and annoying as ****, but after the dust settles this really was a special year for the Engineer players. Ice says the right team represented the league this year pal.

Too much talent on NCC for RPI to overcome today.  I think I realized that RPIs strength may have been their Dline and Oline.  Very tough up front.  But when you see a team like NCC with a running back like that and a stud WR #11 and TWO other very good WRs (and a solid QB), you simply need more to keep it close in a game like this.  A couple strange things happened both ways with some weird calls, and I think two of them really turned the momentum knife in RPIs stomach.  That first onside kick, and then the penalty for targeting or whatever were too much to overcome.  Not saying RPI could beat them 5/10 times but they could have gave a better game today.

I like that RPI coach too.  He has some pizzaz to him.

My heart is in it too much to say it as eloquently, but what JU said is about as spot on as it gets. I'm still sour, but yeah, what JU said.

And thanks IB. Time to drink heavily.

+k to Mach for his Engineer's great LL season and run in the playoffs. I know how it feels when the door slams in your face when you go west in the playoffs. I was hoping for more of a Muhlenberg type effort/result today from RPI, but unfortunately when you get to the quarterfinals and get slammed it just plain hurts. But at least you picked up some new friends in greater Chicago. Looking forward to the Engineers/Statesmen game in 2022 at your magnificent stadium renamed for Dr. Shirley ;D

Well said Bartman.  It's a tough day in this room.  It will take time to grieve.  Emotions are high, and spirits are low.  We will get stronger from this though that I know.  Pumpinattack is still AWOL, and Mach needs our support during this time of need.  Not only did RPI get destroyed today (TOP) but they also got outscored.  Let's all regroup and get back to making this board the top in the nation.  No one can take that away from us.  Not even cozenpants.

cheers to all, and let's all have a good holiday.

JU, pretty sure you just wrote Paul Simon's next song next song:

It's a tough day in this room
It will take time to grieve.
Emotions are high,
Spirits are low.

We will get stronger,
from this that I know.
Pumpinattack is AWOL,
Mach needs our support.

TOP, TOP, TOP, TOOOOOOOOP (chorus)

Ha I thought that when I read my post over.  It was typed last night at the bar after a few pints.  all good though, maybe a record company will sign me and I can release an album "d3boards the album".  Maybe we can start with a few Christmas tracks?

She will be gone by the time any locals or out of towners will be driving to any games in Troy be they indoor or outdoor. Hopefully, even this placed is not ------ up enough to name anything after her.

Trying to predict the future with the new guy from MIT probably is, at the moment, an exercise in futility.

Find it unsettling that the selection, at minimum, was influenced by trustees and board members who appeared to have been little more than long term compliant, complicit, empowerees and enablers for a regime headed by a dictator. None of these people even remotely appeared to have carried out their primary fiduciary responsibilities of oversight. Those responsibilities, of course, should of been headed by acting in the best interests of the institution and students above and beyond the interests and whims of any one person. Excluding any personal gain, benefit or favor any of them achieved by tethering themselves to any one person, collectively they appear to have been a total, absolute and cataclysmic failure in carrying out their primary responsibility.

Recent articles and editorials in the local paper (Times Union) have probably only added to the unsettled feeling. In an editorial earlier this week, the new guy drew some fire from some student rights group (believe the group is actually named FIRE) for his part in removing a scheduled speaker from appearing on the MIT campus. For anyone living locally, that sounds all to familiar and a possible indication that the future may be nothing short of more of the same.

Though it has nothing to do with someone who is not even here yet (but everything to do with the people presently in power), today's article was even more troubling. It addressed how the institution has dealt over the last several years with students who were already dealing with emotional and/or mental issues upon arriving on campus or had them arise after their arrival. Found it an extremely difficult read that was hard to stay with through the end. Assuming this article holds any water and that the new guy is much of anything worth while, there should be people removed and fired from the organization before students return next fall. In reality, it probably should happen right now long before the new guy even arrives but, in all likelihood, it will probably be punted for the new guy to field.

As for the positive, attendance at the four MIT football home games this year was 462, 569, 678 and 1,051. Whatever the new guy turns out to be or not be, at least we know that neither he or the people he worked for are bats!!!

North Central were the TOP kings Saturday.....40+ in TOP v. RPI 19+, that's almost 3 full quarters. Also RPI was -2 on turnovers. Although it was not RPI's best game, I love the spirit and the effort put out by our LL representative. Does it hurt when you hit the westen wall....absolutely. But I'd rather be bold and compete against other colleges in the NCAA playoffs than have the NESCAC isolationist approach.
