Raymond already left the LL because of the Brinks truck he was offered by Williams.  It's not like he wasn't making the playoffs at SLU, and he wasn't getting nickel and dime'd either. Union will likely have to make a substantial offer to get him to consider. But if the administration is truly dedicated to football then they will.

Yea I am out of the loop on a lot of the football coaching salaries but I wouldn't expect them to be that much different.

Same thought.  Any one have any idea what a "good" D3 HC role pays these days?  I haven't a clue.

Since Cortland is a public school their salaries are readily available online.

What may not there depending on how its generated is money from camps, media etc.

Privates generally pay better than publics in my personal experience, and I have worked at both.

I'm sure a lot of it depends on your length of tenure

Right.  I think a lot of the coaches were instructors who did other things as well.  The DC was the JV Lax coach when Welch and then La Forte was there)  I remember a lot of the Ithaca coaches were "instructors" and taught the great GIPPE courses like Billiards (Coach Val), "football coaching/scouting" (Coach Welch) and I took a "basketball scouting" class once as well.  Always interesting to see the communication majors in those classes getting knowledge from first hand sources about the sports they would go on to cover.

LOL - is Billiards still offered?  I can't imagine paying 2022 college tuition money to take some of these classes.

They were typically 1-credit mini-courses people would take

Ha not sure.  I know the phys ed. majors had to take a certain amount of those classes.  They were only .5 credits if I remember correctly so they didn't make that much sense unless they were required.  I was a politics major so it was just a nice break from the grind.  I did learn a lot about barroom etiquette, 8 ball and general pool hall demeanor.   ;D

Nothing, though I'd expect there are getting close given the need to have someone in chair to have any chance not to lose a whole recruiting class.  The OC headed out to JCU with Behrman, but I think Rick Flanders (the DC) is staying put.

I very much hope they follow the recent approach of grabbing an experienced coordinator from a successful FCS program, which is what they did with Behrman and what Ithaca recent did (with much success) with Toerper; I think those guys bring a level of professionalism and organization that is essentially to success at the D3 level.  Hopefully the search will eventually land the best available candidate with a proven track record of success, and not succumb to other institutional priorities.

In other news, based on Twitter, it looks like Union starting safety Diavon Clements is transferring to Central Missouri State, and freshman WR Nick Dunneman has touted an "offer" from Mount Union and a collection of holiday cards from some FCS programs, but nothing final.  Doesn't appear that Azarai Lewis (starting CB) or Avery Turton (back up WR) have landed anywhere.

Toerper spent basically his entire career in D3 save the one season prior to his hiring.

Ice says  ::) these ****ing kids...

Ice says funny, he had a thought about the possibility of Dunneman and Mount Union. Ice thinks he'd have some success there especially with their short passing game.

Ice says right or wrong, mature or immature, bitter or not, he ****ing hates the transfer portal. Ice says with that said, on the human level when he takes off his Garnet colored glasses he does wish each of these kids the very best in their respective journeys though.

I hate that the Dutchmen lost Dunneman but it may work out for him. Many of you will remember a similar instance when All American WR Pierre Garcon left Norwich, VT. to transfer to Mt. Union. It worked out for Garcon as his exposure with the Purple Raiders led him to further accolades and an eventual NFL career.

Anybody concerned that there may be a few LL teams thqt don't put together full 10 game schedules?  E8 has a commitment with Landmark league, NJAC and CC.  I know RPI is playing Dean, Union always has NE teams, and IC will always have Cortland....Are there enough New England teams to fill out the LL schedules?
