Picks picks picks... one last time it has been a great season everyone!

SLU 31 Buff St 37 - points galore, bengals finish the season on a high

Hobart 34 Rochester 21 - I think this game will be closer than this score indicates. Much like UR against IC, I can see a very close first half with Rochester leading for portions of it. I think as the game goes on the depth and talent of Hobart pulls through. A good season for both teams, Hobart rolls into the ECAC and Rochester rolls into the off season ready to upset one of the top four next season

RPI 29 Union 27 - Those shoes always delivers. The last few years have been excellent games and maybe none crazier than the 2021 version of the game. I know there are questions about the RPI QB situation but there is just something inside of me that thinks in this game RPI is going to find a way to win. I think there defense will come up with a big turnover in the first half that halts a Union scoring drive and another one late that gives them a chance to win the game. This game is going to say a lot about what the next few years of Union football looks like.

Finally the grand daddy of them all...

IC 23 Cortalnd 14 - Another year another IC victory. I think IC will come ready with a defensive game plan much like laster and make Boyes beat them with his legs instead of his arm. Offensively, I think they are going to run run run the ball and keep the Cortland offense off the field. Jalen Leonard Osborne has been playing like an All American this year and I think that continues with a monster game from him. This is going to be IC being tougher and more physical than Cortland. There will be big plays made by the Red Dragons no doubt but it will be IC to bend but not break, weather the storm and force turnovers. The Bombers cap off a 9-1 season, home playoff game, and the party on the South Hill Saturday night will be epic. See everyone at Moonies!!!!

Agree ,while I respect the Bombers defense, I'd want your side of this bet, for sure.

Yeah, I'd take the over on Cortland 14 points as well.

This week's picks

St. Lawrence 30- Buffalo St 28...I was tempted to go the other way but nah, the Saints have got this.

Hobart 28 - Rochester 17...Statesmen play loose and overcome a good effort by Rochester

Union 30 - RPI 20...Obviously lots at stake for the Garnet but they finish this time and bring back the Shoes. .

Cortland 34 - Ithaca 23...The Red Dragons win the Jug and a home playoff game or two.  Bombers headed to Pa.

Ithaca and Cortland fans, don't forget you're not just fighting over the jug, but probably also the right to host and beat up on the MASCAC champ in round 1.  And isn't that the real prize?

FWIW, I don't think the Bombers head to PA with a loss unless Union's loses.  They'd probably join a cluster with Springfield, Endicott, and Union in a 3-6 band and end up at Springfield because of the no rematch rule.  I think Grove, Susq, Del Val and the NJAC winner end up on an Illinois or Ohio bracket; JHU and the Cortland/Ithaca winner get the "Northeast" 1 and 2 seeds and get the ECFC and MASCAC champs, respectively.

Also possible they put JHU atop a south/PA bracket, but that means the north gets wedged into one or more NCC/Wartburg/Mt. Union brackets, which would suck for several purposes.

Director's Cup glory awaits the winner!

I'm sitting here at a Skyzone (jumping place) at my daughter's 11th bday party with little ones running around here at 100 mph like little Mike Fiore's breaking tackles and I'm amazed they don't have an ambulance on site  ;D. I love my daughter and I'm very excited for a great weekend if D3 football.

SLU/Buffalo State - Bengals offense is the story and this program happily ends the season with a well deserved W. Bengals 24-17

Hobart/Rochester - I like Rochester and I think it's good for the league to have this program trending upward after struggling for so long. There is NO WAY Hobart losses this game after last week. They are riding high and fired up heading into this weekend. From last week on is all working towards next season for Bart. Hobart 38-10

Cortaca - I can't tell you how badly I want IC to roll. With that said watching Cortland absolutely dismantle a pretty solid Bport D last week, I admittedly don't know what to expect. I agree with a lot of what's been said so far. If there is a wide margin of victory or a high scoring shootout, Cortland will be on the winning end. If the game is close and low scoring, it means the Bomber D is doing their thing and I think IC wins. Cortland 28-10

Shoes - I think Union's offense, after a tight first quarter, will pull away. If Unions run D can stifle RPI's run and make them one dimensional, while RPI will have success, it won't be enough. I think the Hobart game was where Union found it's true identity. I expect much of the same tomorrow with Union using the short passing game to open the run game up. Two really good teams and storied programs go at it again. 35-17 Union. Fire the cannon!

Buff St 21 SLU 13  Long travel day favors the Bengals

Hobart 42 Roch 0  All gas no brake for Hobart seniors

Never too late to join the pick em competition, right?

Hobart- 31
Rochester- 16

Larries- 38
Buff State- 33

Buff State coach sounded like a very nice guy in WICB. His mantra of "we need to embrace punting" had me a bit nervous for them. "The Club" gets the win for his team, undoubtably wishing he was rooting on his alma mater at Cortaca.

RPI- 51
Union-6

Union gives Patch O Hoolihan the start and he does his best Johnny Football impersonation (Browns version). Him and his brother get tossed together in the last minute. Family bonding.

Great Day to be a Bomber- 77
Cortland is Gross- 2

Schumm does what Felicetti couldn't and grabs the jug his Freshman year. Boyes chokes with thousands of Bomber fans on top of him. The Oooga Booga cheer makes its triumphant return bouncing of the hills of Tompkins County. Wahid Nabi named honorary captain. Sympathy safety at the end of the game. Cortland fans go back and finish the job they started in 2013, burning the rest of that trash heap of a city to the ground. Club Semesters reopens for one night including the classy VIP room in the back for players.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

I think all of today's games could go either way

Hobart @ Rochester. After last week's dominating performance, how much of a letdown will the Statesmen have?  Will Daniel Papantonis play for UR?  How much is the home field advantage worth for UR?  I'm not sure if any of these will affect the outcome and I expect Hobart will win even with a bit of a letdown and D Pap at full strength.  Hobart 35 - 14.

St. Lawrence @ Buffalo State. Could be a blowout or could be a close game.  I think Buff State has more offense and they win at home.  Buffalo State 24 - 17.

Cortland @ Ithaca.  Ithaca's freshman QB now has a few games under his belt.  Ithaca is dominant at Butterfield.  But I think it is Cortland's turn this year in a close one.  Cortland 28 - 21.

RPI @ Union. I wish this game was essentially a play-in game for a pool C bid.  But it's not, and Union has everything to play for while RPI will probably get an ECAC bid even with a loss.  I expect a close game for perhaps the new "Sparkling Garnet Shoes".  Union 24 - 21.
