Hobart also had a stud in Tyre Coleman on the D Line! I had the pleasure of coaching him in HS! The kid was a monster on the field and all around great kid! And to think,  alongside him on the same HS D Line was a guy that went to play at UConn!
Wow , that must have been a pleasure to coach Tyre. He was incredible , no one person could block Tyre, although I heard Ali and Tyre had some good battles in practice. I went out to St .Thomas for the NCAA playoff game (final 8) and literally no one on the StThomas line could block him , I think he was actually double teamed on every play, and he still disrupted play. Thanks for remembering Tyre, he was also a great kid. Hobart was so lucky to have 2 of the all time great D3 linemen on the same team.

'Twas the night b4 playoffs and all through the boards, nothing was stirring... not even a mouse! 24 hours and no chatter here! Must be a record!

I'm thinking, I'm hoping, Union will get the W tomorrow. IMHO Union's passing game is going to have to show up for the Dutchmen to win. Union has had two close games where they ran the ball very well but still found themselves in dog fights (RPI and Rochester). I'm looking for a game similar to the Hobart game where Union gets some separation as a result of the short passing game which opens everything else up.

This week I'm thinking Ithaca, RPI, and Hobart will win. Outside of the LL I do favor Cortland to defeat Endicott. However, after seeing the picks the fellas made I'm getting this feeling that this very good Endicott team may not be ready to waive the white flag just yet, even to an excellent team in Cortland.

I'm really pulling for MMA but feel that is quite the long shot. I also don't believe Brockport will be able to do much on offense and will lose as a result of their lack of offensive cohesiveness.

It is strange with the many Union and Ithaca fans and the NCAA games tomorrow. , no chatter.  I think  both Union and Ithaca  win tomorrow and possibly the next round, but first things first. It will be interesting to see how Ithaca's Frosh QB handles an away NCCA playoff game. I also think Hobart and RPI will win their ECAC games, but Hobart could be in a dogfight. Cortland, I think could be playing the Raiders in a couple of weeks. We'll see if my optimism becomes reality.

Big day for Union today! Hoping for a W and an injury free game for both teams. Let's go U!

Good luck to Ithaca, RPI, and Hobart today as well. I would love to see a LL sweep.

No formal picks for me, but I will be surprised if we don't get a LL sweep today.  Stranger things have happened. You never know about motivation with the ECAC bowl games.  You also have the top two LL quarterbacks not playing.  But both teams have gotten good play from their replacements, and both of the freshmen QBs have played well in their starts.  So I guess they are already veterans  ;D

The game I am actually most interested in is Cortland @ Endicott.  I think Cortland wins easily, but I won't write off the Gulls after watching their destruction of Hardin Simmons early in the season.

Good luck to all of the LL teams.

So with 35 seconds left before halftime Union leads 10-6 when Del Val fakes taking a knee and runs a jet sweep for a gain of 12 yards which prompts a pass on the next down. But Union safety James Gillespie picks it off and returns it for a TD. Thanks Del Val.

Absolutely brutal hazz. Almost as brutal as our 5 turnovers and our offense's absolute ineptitude. Our offensive line continues to play great football, but our skill players can't execute in the red zone and on top of that, they are turning the ball over with reckless abandon. I have never been so frustrated with an NCAA win as I am with today's W.

Congratulations to the Union College defense as you continue to be the reason this team is relevant. I am incredibly proud of this defense. Let's hope RB Michael Fiore is ok.

Bill - I told you that DelVal had no passing game (and couldn't stop the pass) so 8 in the box would stop the run against DelVal's backup RB. I was actually surprised at DelVal's effectiveness at times running the ball with Union knowing that's all DelVal had. Now go get Johns Hopkins. Not a senior laden team and were almost beaten by Muhlenberg and an average Franklin & Marshall team. Without one of the perennial monsters in the bracket and with Union's vast experience........I see a possible semifinal appearance for Union.

I never got a thanks (like I did from Ice Bear) for the high school football, DelVal and Doylestown info, but I hope that you got to hangout in our great little town. But shhhhhhhh, far too many people are finding out about this place and moving here, especially the liberals!! ;)

I love that you come to a forum where you're already pretty universally disliked, make a bunch of excuses for your vastly overrated NCAA darling football squad, and then bring up POLITICS! Take your trust fund, your 'Logarithms', and your self-proclaimed riches and beat it. Take the L from your wannabe half-assed football conference like a man.

I got nothing but love for the Union offense. Sure, the turnovers were tough and need to get cleaned up, but the O moved and held the ball and kept DVU off the field. That DVU defense was fierce, and one of those TOs was a fluke, one was a kid fighting for the goal line, and the last was just a BS late/no whistle.  I get the frustration, but a NCAA win is a NCAA win is a NCAA win.  I'll be grateful I get to watch these guys at least one more week.

Congrats to Union.

Great team. Great program. Good luck against JHU next week.

Mach - Once a clown, always a clown you are. A wannabe and never was. DelVal played Mount Union very tough in a national quarterfinals appearance last year as they did North Central and Brockport in the last few years. I expect nothing less from both Union and Ithaca.

As far as universally disliked, UFanbill, unionpalooza and Ice Bear showed none of that here nor on the MAC board and thanked me for my detail on not only the Aggies team (which they said was spot on), but on my detail of beautiful Doylestown and the DelVal campus. So shhhhhhhhhhhh.

It sounds like they were at the game while you sat at home. So ask mom what time dinner is so that you can turn off the X-box and leave the basement. The next detailed comments that you make about a football team (especially as palooza said........"a perfect bead on the team") will be your first.

Enjoy yourself Mach/He/She/They/Whomever. Mama is calling. She's got meatloaf for you!! ;)
