The Union team is very young from the sheet I was given at the game , very light on Grad Students and Seniors. I'm sure they will rebound next year under Drach because they were a lot closer than the final score showed. I'm happy for the Hobart seniors and Grad Students that really wanted to make up for last year's loss to Union. This is their last chance at a LL title and NCAA games(those bowls are like kissing your sister). Ithaca, RPI and Union have all tasted the title and the NCAAs in recent years, so we're just happy to be in the hunt for that experience this year. That said, both RPI and Rochester will be pulling out all the stops to ruin our hopes. If we are fortunate to get by RPI next week , and Rochester beats Buff State and Union , it sets up the fist great Centennial Cup game at the BOZ in a long time. Although I'm counting on winning, if Rochester wins and there is a three way tie with IC,Hobart, UofR, all with 1-1 records with each other, does anyone know the tie-breaker?

Was told it was record against teams with winning records. Worst team is eliminated, then it goes to H2H

Ithaca obviously loses out quickly, which then moves it to Rochester-Hobart's H2H matchup. So in that scenario, Hobart is a Pool C.

Congrats to Vicente Lyon , Hobart Punter, for his selection to the D3Football.com Team of the Week

Lyon punted five times for 237 yards Saturday, a 47.4 yard average. He launched two punts that traveled over 50 yards (51 & 55 yds), giving him a league-leading eight on the season. His final punt of the game was a 55-yarder that pinned the Garnet Chargers inside their own 20. Union managed one punt return, for 3 yards.

Rochester- 17
Buff St.- 7
With Daniel Papantonis out (shoulder) the Jackets offense could struggle but eventually will "slog" to 7-1 on Senior Night.

Ithaca- 31
Unnion-7
Close early but then cream will rise to the top.

Hobart- 24
RPI- 13
The Engineers will put up a fight early but then will fade in the 2nd half.

I agree with all the picks thus far. Rochester and Buffalo State will be close-ish. Rochester will most certainly win. Ithaca will just beat Union down. I don't mean in a huge blowout scoring/monkeystomp fashion. I just think they will come into Shocktown and physically grind the Garnet down over 4 quarters. I'm thinking/hoping Hobart defeats RPI, but there is something inside me saying RPI gets the W. We shall see.

It's great to see the Pride of Springfield get some press and attention for their undefeated start. Obviously they don't play top notch teams week in and week out. I feel the wins over the likes of Western New England and Salve show that they can compete and may have the chance to knock someone off in the NCAA's.

My Chris Sharpe man crush will never die and my love of the triple option at the D3 level will also continue (*let me say that I would absolutely not enjoy it if every team, or most teams were running it). For me it's just exciting to see something different every once in a while. I also think it's fun for a team to have a game plan that EVERYONE in the world knows exactly what it is (for the most part) and still cannot stop it.

Wishing everyone a great Friday and weekend.

Someone here gets exceptionally butthurt quite often. LOL. Poor thing. It'll all be ok little buddy. Moving on...

Mach's Halloween Hangover Predictions:

Season Record - 33-5

Week 9

Buff State - 13
Rochester - 35
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every 2 decades.

Ithaca - 56
Union - 12
Ithaca might be peaking at the right time.

Hobart - 21
RPI - 24
The majority of my losses this year are due to RPI's struggles. The bye week will make a difference in a stunner.

Apologies to any thin-skinned softies I've offended this season. Rochester is the best program of all time. Hail To The Jackets! HTTJ!!!

Unless Hobart loses twice, it might be too late for the Bombers

Maybe IC, but I agree with Mach and think this late season momentum is coming at a time that will benefit the Bombers. This play may lead IC to a strong and maybe surprising showing at CORTACA which I believe will carry some positive momentum in the 2025 season. Like I said before, I think they run over Union and continue to find their stride. I am impressed with how they are running the football.

WOW so much negativity.  Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Bad Halloween? Too many tricks not enough treats?

Not sure where you are coming from but RPI will bounce back skippy. Everyone has an off year.

Also, don't live in the past it's unhealthy.
