Quote from: UfanBill on November 08, 2024, 11:41:58 AMGee I wonder where poll voters from other parts of the country are getting the conception that this is a down year for the Liberty League?...Maybe from reading the Liberty League thread on this board. :o

I think about five voters at most have logins and can access this board.

Wow, that's surprising. I thought maybe I had something there. Seems not. I'm going to assume they read and source your other work even if they devalue the opinions of all of us who post on these boards. I understand why coaches don't want their players reading fan comments during the season but media members should be onboard here. Many, many former players and coaches certainly participate after their on the field days are over and I'd guess a large percentage of the content comes from just such people. Thanks

If those 5 voters actually take any credence in this board, I'll see them all at H(*)(*)TERS later tonight!

Had to deal with a bit of an emergency since midnight last night, but still getting my picks in. Crumby 1-2 week last week due to my homer-ism. Oh well.

Mach's Stoopid Predictions:

Season Record - 34-7

Week 10

Rochester - 20
Union - 14
Who knew this would feel like a toss up? If I have to kick one of these while they're down, it's no contest who it is.

RPI - 56
Buff State - 6
Storing up some momentum before da shoes.

St. Lawrence - 10
Ithaca - 35
Ithaca keeps the spiciness in check until next week.

Hobart - Buy (Well timed.)

Short and sweet. Back to real life stuff.

UfanBill

I had a chance to pick up a couple last week but I was befuddled and bewildered and went 1-2 (and I didn't choose Union)...Season record 32-9.

Buffalo St 24 - RPI 20...unlikely but why not...Nah just kidding RPI 37 - BS 7.

Ithaca 38 - St. Lawrence 3...Bombers revving up for the Champs.

Union 20 - Rochester 17...With Daniel out again Garnet score early, get off the schneid and the seniors get that last home win.

Hobart practices recovering muffed punts this week and the SID spends time lobbying voters to pick up a few more points for Hobart in the D3.com poll .

I know you're being tongue-in-cheek here but this is why we don't simply publish a list of voters for people to lobby.

Brockport up 21-7 in Q2. Imagine them losing the E8 then Ithaca knocking them off? It's would be an insane change of events.

unionpalooza

After a back and forth defensive battle Union breaks through with two late TDs on deep balls to take a 13-0 lead at the half.  Union cannot run the ball at all but Flanagan is having his best half of the year, with 233 passing yards and finally get over the top of the defense.  Rochester has had some success with their backup QB scrambling for first downs but hasn't been able to sustain anything, and has thrown two picks, one harmless and another that handed the ball to Union with 25 seconds to go, which turned into a TD on a deep throw.

Mach,
It's now 21-17 at the half! I'm sure a lot would love to see the situation that you mentioned! If the IC faithful got what they wanted, it may be the most disappointing end to a college season at any level!

Still got a half left and the Dragons have been here before several times. Don't sleep on them!

Assuming the game stays this tight, even with a loss, I think we've all seen enough to conclude that Brockport ought to be ranked something in the mid-teens.  (Of course, they won't.)

I actually don't. I, personally, want Cortland to win out and crush the postseason. It was simply a 'what if'. They had the big comeback against Susquehanna and think they can certainly do the same today.  But it would be a disappointment of epic proportions if the scenario I mentioned actually played out. Possibly going from a 1 seed to out in 2 weeks. I hope they finish the comeback. Brockport is always tough as hell.

Bartman

Brockport up 8 in fourth quarter. Cortland defense is not elite, we'll see if Boyes is as good as I think he is. Great game

Upalooza, you're out of your mind. Brockport is nowhere near even Springfield. Did you see how dominant Springfield was today against Merchant Marine? That's a real team right there and real football. Not some soft Brockport. LOLOL.

Machiavelli

RPI up 31-7 in the 4th. Union destroying Rochester. Ithaca hammering the Larries. While Rochester had a much improved season, they are finishing a lot like Rochester.
