Tough injuries at the end of the year, but your Coach Chad can build on this. I heard Ted Baker accepted the announcing job for the game , so he will be a homer for the LL participant, no doubt ;D"

Thanks Bartman!   Send Teddy over we will need all the help we can get!

I've always loved Ted Baker whether Hobart beats or loses to Ithaca.

But the best thing about him JacketsPride, is when Hobart is losing and he goes nuts at the bad calls, the refs and everything else that goes wrong for Hobart that day.

But seriously I like him no matter what.

Utah I couldn't agree more. I TOTALLY get it Jacketspride that he can certainly drive an opposing fan nuts. I think, maybe like wine, you'll grow to enjoy his absolute one sidedness as the years go on. Maybe it's just cause I'm older, in my late 40's now, but I have grown to absolutely love listening to this guy. Everything he says is ****ing art.

Utah is right, man when things go badly for the Statesmen he is at his absolute best. He laser focuses on anything "not for Hobart" and does not attempt in the slightest to hide his ire. Honestly, I respect that. Over the last couple of years I also watch some Hobart hockey games where I am treated to even more of him. As a former hockey player who has a much deeper knowledge of the game than I do of football, I just sit back and enjoy his homer perspective that is often the size of Alaska away from what actually happened.

In all honesty, the man absolutely loves and bleeds Hobart/William and Smith and I can do nothing but respect that. Especially the amount of time he gives the sports program. It's off the charts and earns every iota of my respect.

When Union's President announced he was leaving I had some high hopes Ted Baker was going to get the gig.

Ted is so knowledgeable about Hobart sports he can also be a disappointed critic at times. Our Lax program is D1 and he can be very critical if the performance , results or strategy are sub-par. We love him and frankly hope he keeps announcing until he is 100. He also conducts podcasts during the season with some of the coaches that gives a level of coverage that is very much appreciated by parents, alums , players and fans. I respect many of the announcers around the LL, but I'll keep our guy who bleeds orange and purple😀

That's about right. Man crush number #2 for me. 1.) Chris Sharpe 2.) Ted Baker

I'm all of a sudden seeing things with a clarity that's been missing for some time.

Totally agree on DeSilva and Wefering.  Both were next level.

I have my own issues with the process as LB Luke Herter (Junior) and S Simon Weeren (5th year) were 5th and 10th in the league in tackles and were only HR.  Since when do tackles not matter on defense??

I hope to hear Ted Baker complain about bad calls against the Statesmen as that would mean the Jackets were finally playing well at Hobart. Until then he can still suck it🤣

So, Week 12 predictions(39-7 on season, I missed the first  2 Friday night games) :

Yellowjackets.  ( 3.).   Brockport.      (27).  The Jackets Seniors are excited to play in a post season game but need to pay the price of entry by playing an angry Golden Eagles team with their own injuries.Guest announcer Ted Baker complains that Brockport held on every play , were offsides constantly and were guilty of PI on every major pass completion by Brockport, actually saying the refs need to be investigated by the NCAA.Jacket fans offer to double Ted's pay and part with a small portion of their massive endowment.

So Vincente Lyon should be an AA candidate for Hobart at punter.  I see the three preseason AAs for d3football.com are all in the top of the nation for punting stats (although the Linfield punter is not listed on the national NCAA stats).  That being said Lyon punted in situations that I think won games for Hobart.  That cannot be said for at least the Hamilton kicker and I have no idea about the Rose-Hulman kicker who has slightly better stats but their team isn't as good as Hobart.

So since Pat reads this board he should know that Lyon probably is the best punter in the country and deserves the 1st team AA award.

Jonny Utah

D3football AA for quarterback will be interesting as well with this St. John's QB moving into the mix.  He does not run at all but his passing numbers beat everyone else for a good team.

It'll be a few weeks before I start to look at this but do know that I am fully aware of Vicente Lyon after putting him on the Team of the Week three of the last seven weeks. :)

Alright so I finished the regular season at 40-8 with a strong 4-0 final week. Not my best season, but it was a 'different' season, that is for sure. In any case, moving onto the playoffs:

Mach's quasi-Rd 1/ECAC Predictions for games I give a sh!t about:

Alfred St. - 0
Endicott - 63
Endicott rests it's starters halfway through the 2nd quarter. Alfred St. shouldn't be here. Endicott's JV's will put up 4 TDs and hold the goose egg.

Alfred - 35
WesConn - 21
Who dat said gon beat WesConn? Alfred said it.

I guess that's all I give a sh!t about this week. Gonna be a little nappy of a weekend I suppose.

The best game punt I ever saw live was after the Hobart defense had a great goal line stand in the first quarter against Ithaca and the Ithaca defense didn't give an inch to Hobart and Lyon was forced to take a short snap from his own 1 yard line , the punt stayed in the air for what seemed to be 60+(https://youtu.be/luNnHA34ulE) yards and rolled to the Ithaca 13 for a total of 86 yards. At that point it felt that Hobart was destined to win, and Lyon has been uber reliable all season. That will forever be referred to as "THE PUNT".

Wait What???  No Brockport/U of R pick Niccolò?
My extremely soft feelings are hurt.

Is that game so meaningless that they left it off the Full Scores page? It wasn't even intentional.
