KR, will there be beer related festivities tonight for your passing of the boards?

There were last night, there will be tonight at the Iowa Cubs AAA game, at the HighLife Lounge following the game (where Hamm's is always on tap) and then again this weekend.

It is also KR's expert medical opinion that all LLPP Inc posters, lurkers, smiters, readers, and haters should consume between 1 and 13 beers this weekend at the establishment of their choice to help relieve stress and lower blood pressure.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Southern brewers beer fest in downtown Chattanooga (now available without the urine smell!!) this saturday 2pm-midnight.  If all goes to plan by 9pm Gro will be sitting around an upside down garbage can playing a game of thumper with some homeless people.

"What's the name of the game... THUMPER!!! Why do we play...."

Regarding the LL vs. the E8, the top 25 is just the top 25 ... in other words, there are times a conference has three teams that might be good, like Ithaca, Alfred and SJF, but there's no data or gut feeling to push you too strongly towards one over the other, and you end up leaving them all in your 26-35 group, or you to cover yourself, you don't rank any of them too high, and then combined in a poll, that team gets lost.

Also, no matter how much preseason research we do, the new Top 25s are still largely a reflection of the latest games played, the most reliable data on who is better than whom.

Last year Pat and I were way too down on the LL, but with Union and Hobart taking Rowan and DelVal to the max, and Union eliminating the only E8 team in last year's playoffs (first round), the pendulum has definitely swung toward the LL with good reason.

However, if you'll note, E8 fans, your conference is still ranked 9th overall in D3, while the LL makes the jump from 19th to 10th. (no more free info from Kickoff though!)

PBR...

most definetly 'gro you guys from the LL gave my boyz from del val a handful and rowan was pushed as well. but alas dvc prevailed hail the green and gold!!!

Gro, 3 things.

1) Its my opinion that Ithaca (and the E8 I guess as well considering Ithaca is in the E8) has  have been underated even when they have been overated.  And I mean that by the fact that Ithaca has not had a home playoff game in over 10 years when I feel they should have.  I dont want to get into the whos schedule is better argument again but I think Ithaca should have had a few home games and didnt because other teams had better records.  Everyone has always said the LL never had any respect when in fact it was kind of the opposite.  Ithaca At RPI in 2001.  Ithaca At RPI in 2003. Ithaca at Union in 2005.  I guess in the end its not the d3football.com poll that makes teams rated or not but how the playoffs end up.

2) I didnt know RPI played HVCC in a scrimmage.  Have they always done this.  I just remember Ithacas JV team playing them back in the 1990s and it was usually a touchdown either way.  Surely RPI mush smoke them now right?

3)  I know your from Shocktown but I was thinking this......Its too bad your not from Cohoes, cause you could tell people you were from Grohoes. That would be somethin

I eagerly read Kickoff 2006 today to see which of the BIG 3 (Union, Hobart, RPI) that Pat C. and associates would pick to win the LL this year.  Last year they correctly picked Union to win the conference.

For 2006, while there were individual predictions (4 RPI's, 1 Union, 1 Hobart), in this year's conference summary D3FB.com picked all 3 teams to finish at 8-1, 5-1 in conference.

That's kind of like 4th qtr, ball at midfield, 4th and 1 and you punt.

This will lead to endless speculation relative to a 3-way tie, various tie-breaker scenarios (I sense Frank Rossi getting warmed up for the season) and further speculation on who will receive a Pool C bid from the NCAA.

Great to see that D3FB.com recognized all three outstanding teams from the LL, but I would have liked to see them go out on the limb and pick one of the 3 as the top dog in 2006.

JU

1. I agree IC has gotten the seeding shaft in the playoffs due to more losses (2 IC losses verses 1 or 0 from RPI and others) against better competition. No argement there.

2. They have scrimmaged HVCC for years... current HC used to be the OC at RPI, scrimmaged them before he went there too. HVCC put up some tough teams around 97-98 but they're were not as good around 99-01 (at least from Gro's perspective.) RPI JV team plays against them too and HVCC usually puts the monkey stomp on them.

3. HA!!! +k.  I could also be from Scotia (Gro-tia)

TLM... welcome back! where's frank?  If there was a 3 way tie in the LL last year... all 3 would have made the playoffs, it would have been interesting to say the least.

Gro,

Frank threatens to hang up the microphone and stay off PP for good after each football season, but when it gets around to September again he always seems to turn back to the "Dark Side".  I expect we will hear from Mr. Rossi in a few weeks.

Regulator

Is anyone else watching the Little league world series semi-final.....
Reg wants to elbow this pitcher from Illinois in the mouth.  The kid has been crying for about the last inning on the mound and most recently hit into a 4-3 where he threw his helmet and started balling.

MR is very mad at Reg for "yelling at the TV".....There is no crying....there is no crying in baseball!!!

Re: More from MR...
"It is wierd that these little boys bother you that much"  "It is wierd....I think that you are mad bc you never played in the LLWS."

Obviously she didn't know a 12 year old Reg....

It was the same problem I had with the cats on my FB teams crying after a game.....Are you kidding me?....What are you crying about?....YOU ARE IN COLLEGE!!!

PBR...

U89's Fantasy Draft is this Sat., live and in color back in Worcester.....by the end, all the boys are s-faced and no one remembers the final few picks.  U89 picks 9th and sees a sort of Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown type of situation happening.  Opinions from one and all would be appreciated.
