Gro -

Has it really been 4 yrs in a row?!?

Wow - I had to go all the back to these release to find a "wacky" RPI victory over my Pumpkins:

We had a similar run going over Union until last season.

Just try to play someone a little better. It hurts the LL as a whole these teams RPI plays.

Its not like Unions playing Notre Dame and USC though either............

RE: The Play

" First-year defensive back David Taylor raced in from the left and blocked the kick, setting off a celebration in the stands among the Hobart fans. That jubilation quickly turned to disbelief as the Statesmen faithful realized the Engineers' holder recovered the loose ball and raced to the end zone"

Disbelief.....I was on the field and I couldn't believe it.  I don't think the holder realized what happened....when asked about it later he responded..
"what happened??  I blacked out...why is everyone so happy, they blocked the kick."

I remember having to fly to Milwaukee for an interview and seeing it on ESPN.

Re: The play

let's put it context too... we were going for an undefeated season, a UCAA title, avenging last season's monkey stompout at the hands of the pumpkinheads... pretty much avenging the 2000 season in general.

I just remember hearing that blocked kick sound (how do you put that sound into words? it is the worst sound in football when you are on the wrong end) then next thing you know flip's running to the pylon... the scene on the engineer sideline can only be describes as mantacular.

too bad we didn't have better film it looked kinda crappy on ESPN.

Bart had a similar flukely (circa 96 or 97) play broadcast on ESPN when we lost to the 'Wick after a pass bounced off our Safety's helmet and into the arms of the 'Wick WR for the win.  Tape quality also took away from really appreciating what had happened.

Do you think these guys have been reading LLPP???

Pumpkin,

The Bart has been the most consistent team in the LL/UCAA over the past 5 years without a doubt, but just for the record, Bart's most recent winning streak vs the "U" was 3 games '02 - '04, not 4 games.

So Reg spent the last couple hours looking into MySpace to find people I went to HS with.

A couple of things to comment on.
The really big dorks, are still really big dorks with dorky SO's
Some of the chicks that were semi-dorky are now hot...
The hot girls look like they are 40 years old, still living at home
Most of my ex's are crazy....(who woulda thought)
Most of the people on the site, I didnt even recognize....like "who are you again"

Reg recommends you check it out.
Gro, why did you set your site to private?

I got an inside scoop to check out this website.  The unintentional comedy value is priceless.  It's like 'hotornot' but for cats that look like Hitler and you can vote on them.  Amazing!

can any of these clips be found on youtube?

What's with 'the U' when referring to Union College?

labart96

My bags - I didn't have the exact number of years in mind (although 3 is pretty close to 4) when I made my prior comment.  I attempting to insinuate that for Bart to beat either of those clubs - whether it be 3 or 4 years in row - is quite an accomplishment.  Especially given the fact that not long ago, just winning 1 game against either foe was cause for major celebration in Geneva.

Anyone have an inside scoop on who's starting for the Steelers tonight?  I need 12 pooints in my LLPP fantasy game and I have Batch and Rothlisnuglet.  I cant find anything definite anywhere.

labart96

espn ff has batch's outlook for wk 2 as "likely headed back to the bench"

no other ff breaking news as of yet.

have you checked the pittsburgh area papers online for updates?

Would you rather we call it the "school of hard knocks"?

Garnet

Reg,

It is no different than the RPI guys taking issue with their school being called the Tute.

No biggie just want it on record that Garnet is not a fan of it.
