I got an inside scoop to check out this website.  The unintentional comedy value is priceless.  It's like 'hotornot' but for cats that look like Hitler and you can vote on them.  Amazing!

that was too close... I watched the 1st half and WP didn't do jack. I figured he'd get the points I needed then fumble and screw me over.

Jacksonville = for real?

p.s. Gro went 11-5 against the spread last week in his pool. Muy caliente!!

Reg,

It is no different than the RPI guys taking issue with their school being called the Tute.

No biggie just want it on record that Garnet is not a fan of it.
Duly noted.  I just need to know what record you are talking about?  The LLPP posting record?  The "things people say about my school that I don't like" record?

I don't mind anyone calling RPI "the tute" but if you are going to put it out there, at least make sure to spell it "toot".

I am sure there are worse things that you can say about some schools, truth being told I don't write "Union" in some of my posts because the word makes me mad.

Speaking of youtube the Tute or toot and the U, check this out.

Is that really 1987 or is it 1947?

Oh it is 1987 alright. Garnet hates to admit it but he is in the clip.

Red Swarm to the West

Well...it is nice to see all the Pumpkin Head / Engineers, Red Hawks, Red Swarm,"Toot"ers etc. banter going on...at least we are focusing on Liberty League topics!!

Red Swarm from the West had a good week last week going 7 for 7 on all Upstate Games predicted...so I will chalk it up to beginners luck and a predictable week for most of the games played!!!   Not going to boast about an easy week like that!  I have to earn it over time!!

Reg...I was a Hall Hall resident back in the day...pre-renovation Hall Hall to boot...had the single room on the second floor next to the RA...it was great that I did not have to room with "Wun Hung Lo" or "Muhammed Ikutyurcokoff" ...

Men...it does my heart good to see the schedule this week and notice that Upstate NY owns 6 spots in the top 25!!!

Just imagine if there could be an all Upstate NY "All Star" team!!!  Or if all of these teams weren't beating each other up for the same recruits...WOW...you could put together a pretty strong squad year in year out if the talent pool wasn't so spread out across the state....Except for Union who seems to import the talent from Florida every year now...not saying its not smart...just not home grown!!!

Here are the Red Swarm from the West featured games of the Week...

And what a week it is....

Rochester at "The U"...Scott Greene is going to get them there...but "The R" is not quite ready for what they will see in Schenectady...Union 31  Rochester 7

Ithaca at St. John Fisher...Ithaca hasn't played anyone of circumstance yet so this will be their first test...Fisher is looking as good as they ever have...the Offense is just wearing people down...big up front...Robinson toting the mail with a good back up to spell him and keep him fresh...Ithaca will need to stuff the run game and force Fisher to air it  out if they want to walk out of Pittsford with a win...RSTTW says that the home field advantage will help Fisher and it will be a squeeker in OT...Fisher 20   "The I" 14

And last but not least...

The "Turd Bowl"...I am not familiar with that name for this one...but I will yield to the loyal contributors to Post Patterns and refer to it as such...

I was there for last years game at the Pumpkin Patch....It was the first time I had ever been to an RPI-Bart game in shorts...the game was incredible...and RPI should have won but there was a dropped ball in the end zone...

Robertson is a year more seasoned and he Branch will have an incredible game while he Robertson gets some other help from Savasli in his coming out party...
RPI 34 - "The H"  24...

Cheers everyone!!!

being 1000 miles away from Troy Hills 12180 (I just made that up, pretty gay huh? I like it) I don't know whats going on at RPI, but I know coach king. Today might be the most intense practice this team has seen in years. I feel bad for the one kid that jogs when he should run, or blows a simple read, or just looks at coach wrong... because that kid is getting jacked up like you read about.

And if kinger misses a kid when he messes up, look for Ort to follow through.

Re: the Turd Bowl (arrr)

TGP has legitimate concerns over the Hobart D in this contest.  Prior to playing us, WPU only averaged 43 yds rushing and 119 yds passing a game vs. an excellent Wilkes and fairly good Muhlenberg club.  Needless to say, the Hobart D gave up almost 3x their avg rushing number last weekend.

Throw on top the Statesmen's sloppy play - 5 fumbles (3 returned for a total of 50+ yds), 6 penalties for 53 yds and the fact that this game is going to be played at the home of the End Zone Car Bombs, give the Toots a chance to break a divisional losing streak, etc is also making TGP a bit worried.

Still, like the Rt Rev, TGP has faith - albeit shaken (not stirred) from the past couple out sub par outings by the Bart.  It may have not been pretty, but we won - and that me matey's is all that counts.

It is the TGP's prediction that the key will be protect the ball better and keep the score close late into the game - the Statesmen have the experience in the skill positions to pull one out of their collective arses in the clutch.

You can take that to the Poop deck.

One of the several reasons I very much enjoyed going to grad school at USC.

Fight on!

The Rev is apprehensive about the upcoming Cat Turd Bowl.

The Rev is under the impression that The Statesmen have yet to form a cohesive unit.  Furthermore, which ever way the game ends, this is pivitol for Hobart.

If they win, they will think they are "good enough" and see no need for improvement.  If they lose, what little cohesion they have will be lost by bickering.

The Rev witnessed a lot of sideline bickering during the Union game last year, and was saddened.  The Rev reckons that if the Cat Turd Bowl starts going in RPI's favor, Hobart's sideline bickering/self-attacking will undermine the team more than RPI's skill.

Fans of The U will disagree, but I don't think Union was a much better team ability- or skill-wise last year.  I think Hobart killed themselves by attacking each other on the sidelines rather than encouraging each other when the going got rough.  Union was the better team in that they stuck together and turned the misfortunes they suffered into opportunities to show what they are made of "inside."  Hobart should have used turnovers and penalties as an occassion to get together and focus their intensity.  Instead they used it as an excuse to blame special teams for this, defense for that, offense for this, and individuals for that.  This is a pisspoor excuse for team.  A good team doesn't look to blame another squad, but each player looks to himself and asks, "How can I do more?  ...to help this teammate...to help the team...to just be a better player myself?"

I'm going to go out farther on a limb here and say that it is Hobart's wickedly leftist curriculum that adversely affects the team's collective mentality.  It's hard to be winners (or have that winner attitude) when all they hear all day is that they are the cause of all evil in the world.

Hobart actively undermines everything masculine in this world, and without a proper notion of manilness (of which bickering is certainly NOT a characteristic) the team will never be able to go all the way.

The Rev's two cents.

RT thinks that Ithaca will have no problem with SJF. RT is not on the SJF bandwagon.

Garnet

Rev,
You will not hear any debate from this Union fan regarding the ability or skill level difference between  The H and The U or The Toot.

If any posters to this board feel differently, Garnet would say they have not been following the LL very closely.  Last season Union found the way to win the evenly matched games.  The LL title will go to the team that does it when it counts.  Last year it was UC.  This year? That's why they play the games.
