I'd say the RB's are essentially equal, so they were really trading Eli for Palmer... which is ludacris. Until the fantasy gods prove me wrong palmer is way better than eli.

lewdogg11

You can say the RB's now are equal, based on stats, but the bottom line is 2 first round picks for a 3 and 6 is crap.

Mr. Reg, the commisioner of the league actually called me upset that he approved it, and everyone else thinks it's shady, but i'm the only one with the balls to call him out on it.

He actually played a kid he lived with in week 1, and the kid he was playing had Houshmanblahblah starting although he was clearly not playing.  And it just happened to not come up before game time, conveniently.

Not sure if you guys already covered this but props to 'Gro for sucking up to Keith McMillan and getting a shout out in Around the Nation.

I don't know LD, it sounds like you need to find a league with a different comissioner or come up with a way to prevent this from happening again.

I don't know what other advice you want us to offer you?
Ask for your money back if you are unhappy.

Reg, all I cared was that it seemed shady to others beside me.  That's all.  I need to be comforted...

On the other hand, Post Patterns vet Enginegro found ESPN.com's TMQ again bashing Mount Union and other Division III schools for running up scores. Mount Union is referred to as "year-in, year-out home of the worst sportsmanship in Division III."

Does this read funny to anyone else but me?

Re: Housh-mantastic-za-DUH

Gro had TJ in the lineup in week 1 and think yahoo did a piss poor job of letting people know that he was inactive... it must have been decided about 3min before kickoff.

Re: Around the nation.
"post patterns veterans" do not need to suck up.  Great LL/E8 coverage in that article.

Word Gro.

The folks in Bristol at the worldwide leader in sports don't give a crap about d3 football.  Their loss, but I am fine with just letting them do what they do best - covering the major revenue pro sports and DI college football.

Leave the D3 coverage to the experts here at D3football.com and the LLPP.

Hobart...like the kitchen equipment?

Hobart?  ...I have a Hobart generator.  Is it the same town?

Hobart?  Hobart, Indiana?

Hobart?  What kind of name is that; some cheap knock-off of Harvard?

Hobart...can't be that famous [or good]; I've never heard of it.

Hobart...Where mah ho, Bart?  Ha ha ha!!!

Oh yeah, I am surrounded by geniuses.

USC and UCLA are the toast of the town here in LA LA land (USC more deservedly so).  At least I work with enough east coast transplants that they have heard of the 'Bart.

However, true west coasters typically have limited knowledge outside the UC, Cal State and Pac 10 systems.

I wonder if Mizro keeps a blog online as well?  Not.

http://www.rpi.edu/~willib/football.htm

Speaking of QB's.....let's get "inside the numbers" a little (you engineers should appreciate looking at numbers):

GP       Effic    Att-Cmp-Int   Pct    Yds  TD  Lng   Avg/G
Shawn Mizro           2    133.72   64-35-0        54.7  445   4   46    222.5

GP     Effic       Att-Cmp-Int   Pct    Yds   TD  Lng   Avg/G
Jimmy Robertson    2      114.01    59-35-3        59.3  377   2    30    188.5

Interesting to see a similar profile between the Sr and the Soph (nice "classic qb pose" pic on the RPI site too -

http://www.rpiathletics.com/roster.asp?playerid=468&sport=4

Surprised they didn't have one of him jumping in mid air doing the heisman pose as well.

Although Mizro hasn't thrown any INTs yet, he did fumble 3x last week in the WPU game so TO's are a wash.  Other than that, Mizro's only averaged 1 more TD pass and 40 yds a game.

Still, I'll take a Sr's experience vs. the Soph.

QB:  Slight edge, Hobart

I sent the hobart team all the spinach (e coli free, I swear) they could eat to strengthen up popeye style for this weeks game. I also sent RPI all the popeye's chicken they could eat.

oxbacker

Ox will defend B-dubbs on that one.....Free A in a website design class. We all did it bc we could and there were only a few easy classes at rpi.  I thought the school wiped the server space clean but i guess not.

hey just a little fyi for the RPI guys.   Alot  of the guys in the ox house and from the team that ox still keeps in contact with are getting random parking tickets/ fines from the school. Got one in the mail from 3 yrs ago. Heard they went through car registrations as well and if say a parent came to a game and got a ticket it will be on your account.

Regulator

Reg will tell you what....
If the bizzaro rent a cop that gave reg hundreds of dollars in tickets, that Reg paid for most of them* wants to come back at me 4 years later, then he better bring them and a set of brass knuckles to SHooesapoloooza '06 and be ready to throw down dirty stye boxing.

I mean, those cats were EVERYWHERE on campus and then they started OUTSOURCING the ticket writing to students.  Reg remembers one time a kid was driving around giving tickets and Reg approached him when he was ticketing a friend.....when I told the kid I knew where he lived the kid dropped a loaf in his pants but never took back the ticket.

*- there were a few tickets that Reg left "open" while at RPI....I think I was changing license plates or cars or something and never paid them hoping they would be too lazy to go to the DMV to find me.  The only way that they could find you when you were in school was if you had your car registered for a parking pass, wrote in to dispute a ticket or your parents paid it for you.  Thankfully Reg never did any of the three.

It is funny because if I bought a parking pass from the time I was a sophmore until the time I was a senior I probably could have saved myself over $400 bucks.

Went to a business event this week at which Jack WIlson the President of the UMass system was speaking.

So I'm interested what he has to say - meeting was about Leadership.  So as he's speaking, I'm reading his bio.. all impressive stuff.  So I find out he comes from RPI, goes to UMass in 2004 - distinguished professor (physics) interim provost etc...
As the father of a freshman I don't know his track record at RPI.

After the event there are a number of people gathered around him talking.. I waited for a opening and asked him if he knew what was this weekend?

He looks at me a bit confused .. I say surely Jack you must know what is happening in the Capital District this weekend.. still a bit confused.. I tell him Hobart/RPI in football. two top 25 teams.. big game..

Immediately his face lights up and he starts talking about his time at RPI and how they have "really had some great teams there etc."

Meanwhile the 4 or 5 people who are trying to rub him like a cat are left speechless.

Hey, how bout them Red Sox?  :o  :o
Huh? What happened? Ya know, I've been so busy reading all this football stuff that I wasn't paying any attention to baseball.
Well I'm sure someone over here can fill us in.
