Great win for Hobart and Fisher today.  Them, along with Cortland seem to be the leaders of theclass in NY thusfar.

Looking forward to Pat's analysis on the game

Thanks to all LLPP members who contributed to the highlight posts today.

The Rev called it yesterday: Hobart 20-17...a damn close call.

The Rev may sleep peacefully, and he shall now take a nap.

Sorry to the RPI crew -- got stuck with this Whitworth/Stout game going to two OTs.

Sounds like Union was able to hold off Rochester for a 27-24 win.

UofR serving notice that Da Beez are back and should be taken seriously this season.

RT has a number of observations from today...

First off, worst officiated game RT's seen in a long time. Two terrible calls on long passes where RPI recievers clearly caught the ball but the official ruled no-catch on each because they felt the ball was trapped. In both cases, RT can honestly say they were very clean catches and the crowd seemed to agree. On the long TD pass that was called a no-catch...that was rediculous. The receiver (Branche, I think) was either pushed OB or it was pass interference. It was kind of interesting that the zebras gave RPI a make-up call late in the 4th where they gave a gift to McGowan on about a 35 yd pass where he definitely bobbled the ball as he was falling OB and it was incomplete from RT's vantage (and everyone else's) but they gave him the grab.

Secondly, RPI hurt themselves today with some costly turnovers and a lack of rhythym offensively. Branche's fumble led to a Hobart TD. A fumbled punt led to another TD by Hobart. Throw in the turnovers by Bernardo and you've got mistakes that RPI can't afford against a team like Hobart. RPI had a hard time getting its horses going so they were forced to crawl out of a big hole late in the game. They gave it a great effort but just ran out of time.

Hobart is a solid team and RT gives them credit. However, RT doesn't see any big 'gamebreaker' on the 'Bart roster. Mizro is efficient and showed senior poise. He completed passes when he had to and moved the chains. The RB is solid but not flashy...kind of a lunchpail guy. HWS plays well as a team and doesn't beat itself very often. This is a bit of a contrast to Union, who has some definite gamebreakers in Arcidiacano and Angiletta, then toss in Marotti at QB. The difference in these teams is that Union seems to have more invidual studs but will make costly turnovers and hurt itself at very inopportune times. Hopefully RPI will match up better against the U on 11/11 and we're in the same situation as 2005 where the winner of the RPI/Union game decides the LL title.

Last, but not least, a special THANKS to the Guru, Mr. Coleman, for making a celebrity appearance in Troy today. Too bad RPI is 0-2 in Pat Coleman attended games but that trend will end, RT assures the crowd. The Guru even took in the legendary tailgate, although he refrained from a car bomb....with good reason, though, since the Guru had to hoof it back to CT. We'll see the Guru on 11/11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

too late...been on already. Serious...WTF has happened to Brady?? He's not even close on some of these passes. Guess RT just has to pass the time until Jimmy Claussen arrives. And what's up w/ Darius Walker? Someone should remind him he's not fast enough to run side-to-side...there's a reason Georgia didn't recruit him even though he grew up up right there.

AS RT IS WRITING THIS....Quinn just got picked off for a TD. That was absolutely pathetic. In the last 2 weeks, he's not only played himself out of the Heisman, but probably the 1st round of the draft.

Ok, there was a lot of RPI chatter this week.

Now shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Seriously....are you for real? RT laughs at you. RT has been scrolling back for several weeks of posts to look for you, azz clown. Not a peep. Have you been lurking, waiting to come out from under your rock when you think you finally have a chance to take a shot? Pretty pathetic but the world needs guys like you, RT supposes.  Let RT know the last time your team was in the final four of D3 football....hmmmm.......

Plus "shhhhhh" what? What does that mean? Last RT checked, RPI lost to Hobart last year, ran the table until Union game and a shot at the NCAA's. Unfortunately, RPI didn't get it done that day (that's another story) but certainly had a shot to get to the dance. In fact, the reason RPI had a chance was because Hobart lost to Union.

RT hates ignoramuses.....
