Ummmm - Listen...If I wanted to hear men discuss washing machines and HE detergents, I'd walk down to Chelsea or the West Village and listen in on some coffeehouse chatter.  This discussion is making Frank Rossi long for the days that the LL Post Positions Board was filled with scantilly clad women in odd positions next to Friendisaurai.  What has happened to the LL and its fans?!

I guess I will save my boxers or briefs conversation for later then, Frank.

Re: Jackson, TN

A nice place, a growing place, but not much happening on a weekly basis for the younger crowd. Memphis is close but not close enough. Very family friendly, decent schools blah blah blah. Housing is cheap and plentyful. Rediculas when compared to up north. Thug Mansion I (3BR, 2BA, 2 car garage, 2000sqft) was purchased brand new in '04 for less than $150k... it drives regulator CRAZY!!

Gro, You know why I am mad dood.....
Let's take this beauty, in Maryland around where Reg lives....
For $259,000 you get this wonderful 2BR 1 bath that probably totals 1000 SqFT.  This is the cheapest you can actually find a single family house in the area.

For a 3br 2 bath with 1 car garage, prepare to break out at least $409,000 for this colonial....

For comparison purposes, $259,000 gets you a 5BR 4BA castle in Jackson....

$415,000 get you a 4BR 5BA estate where the laundry room is bigger than my master bath!

Around $1mm gets you this house in Maryland....5BR 5BA

Enough said.

EDIT- I feel like crap after looking at those houses.

The other pluses about Jackson TN is it is the birthplace of Buford T Pusser and the town where the toothbrush was invented.  It has to be, anywhere else and they would have called it a teeth brush.

Well said Frank.  Stlarry appreciates your candor, as well as your concern for the direction of LLPP.  This one's for you:

You think Maryland is bad, try Fairfield County, Connecticut.

RE: Jackson....

I always wondered that if you were a teacher in Jackson, how much are you making a year?  30K?, 50K after 10-15 years?

Its not much more in Boston or new york where the same prices for homes are probably 10 times that in Jackson.

Man if you make 40K a year you can afford that palace in Jackson....

Jonny Utah

Maybe we could have a LLPP headquarters in Boston and have us each pay dues.....

For sale in Newton, MA for 13.5 million.  We can do it.

theoriginalupstate

TheOriginalUpState's Eastern Regional Rankings:

1) Cortland (6-0): Cortland has too much balance this year for Rowan
2) St. John Fisher (6-0): Still two key E8 games left
3) Rowan (3-1): Not impressing anyone
4) Wilkes (5-0): Running the table in the MAC is not easy
5) Hobart (4-0): Squeeking out wins left and right
6) Springfield (5-0): Option can take down anyone in the East
7) Ithaca (5-1): Still have a great chance for the NCAA's w/ SC at home
Del-Val (4-1): Young, improving QB could lead them to a Pool C
9) Alfred (4-1): This team will spoil someones playoff hopes (IC, SJF, Bart)
10) Union (4-1): Too many close games for a team w/ this much talent

Honorable Mention:
Kings (4-1): Gone 4-0 since getting pounded by SJF
RPI (3-2): Everyone wants to play their D, but NO ONE wants to play this O
Montclair (4-1): Quietly having a solid season
Curry (6-0): Grant it, its Curry but they are still 6-0
Rochester (3-2): Playing well but havent put it all together vs Good teams
West Conn (4-1): Lost to Rowan by 7, game vs Cortland will be a good measuring stick.

Or just about anywhere in NJ, well in the part of NJ people want to live in, not the pineys.

RT used to live in Watertown, MA and would go through Newton all the time...RT recognizes this house!!

speaking of home prices, Saratoga Springs is a pretty penny as well

Charleston, SC (aka Chucktown, USA) is a pretty nice place to be right now.  Outside of the multimillion dollar historic homes, most of the property values are relatively cheap right now.  Good crowd of younger people, especially of the female variety (its almost a fish in a barrel kinda thing sometimes).  Job market seems to be pretty good for the most part too.
