RE: Ortiz VS. Shamrock

How many more times are they going to let these two cats duke it out?  I mean it's to the point where it isn't even good watching.  It is like watching a man beat up on a little kid....what a waste of time and money

Stlarry's freshman year at SLU, the defensive coordinator was named Guido Falbo (no joke), and he was the direct cause for about 15-20 kids quitting during preseason.  First day of hitting, we did Oklahoma's at the end of practice (rb and ol vs. dl and lb/db).  Falbo wanted all of the lb/db's to fire in low, so he would hold them by their jersey while they basically were sprinting as hard as they could, so when the rb got through, he would let go and the lb/db would shoot foward low, but also in a bit of a spear.  One kid ended up hitting someone with the top of their head, and was knocked out for 10-15 seconds.  When the kid came to, Falbo cursed the kid out, and made him go twice more in a row.  The kicker was that this kid already had a pre-existing concussion problem, and so he was pretty messed up, couldn't play a contact sport again.  Falbo was also the kind of guy to scream at you during a game with your parents 10 ft away that you were "the load your mother should have swallowed" (direct quote).  Parents had to litereally be restrained a few times.

Geesh...What a "class act" that guy was!!!

He must have been a young guy at the time:

KS played HS ball back when they had three a days in the end of August in NJ.  The coaches used to hold our water and Gatorade breaks over our heads.  We used to have to wait in line, Srs, Jrs, soph, then frosh.  The only good thing was the team managers used to set up a table and enough cups for the entire team.  One time the coaches decided that instead of a water break during the 1:00 to 4:00 session we would run Oklahoma drills instead.  Only three kids got dehydrated that day.

The Rev doesn't think Hobart will have any problems putting Merchant Marine Academy away this weekend.

But Hobart will once again aggrevate their most religious fan by winning by a paltry margin of, say, 4 points.

By the way, if anyone has not been to a game at King's Point, I highly recommend it.  It is a really nice little campus.  Cadets are polite.

TGP's high school coach (Coach McC) was the John Wayne of coaches.  Had been around for like 40 years when TGP arrived at HS.

Eventhough he had to be 60+, Coach McC could have easily kicked any and all of our asses.  Had fists as big as cinder blocks and was not afraid to use them.

All time classic re: Coach McC was that his own son (who was a few years older than TGP), broke his arm during a game and McC made him stay in the game.

NNR: Care to divulge what school you coach at and who you played last night.  You can't leave us FLA boys hanging like that.  TDT lives in Naples, home of the 2K1 5A State Champs, and they've had some good battles with Tampa area schools in the state playoffs...

Where is Lewwwwdogg?  Has WTFF kidnapped him and taken away the computer?  This has Holladawg Part 2 written all over it...

GRO can we get a report on the Holanta?
Chasing MILFs since '82...

Reg doesn't strategize when he bets....he simply realizes that no matter how hard the acverage Joe thinks they can "beat the odds" that there is some guy in Vegas creating those odds that job depends on that # he puts next to a + or -

I think VT could be hungry, it was last week GT took them down right?  If so, I think they're a team that could come back and make a statement following a tough loss.

Re: Hotlanta

No 'dawg sightings, even the mention of his name didn't stir up the citizens of A town. Gro will have to call in robert stack to do an unsolved mystery special.

Atlanta may have the worst rush hour traffic this side of LA (never been to LA, can't comment).  ATL has about 17 different interstates, 6 lanes in each direction, and it's still a parking lot from 3:30 to 8pm. Gro has had the pleasure of being stuck in other traffic holes across the country such as NYC, Boston, and Chicago, but atlanta frustrates me the most. It's like there shouldn't be this much traffic, but there is.

I know what you mean.  Traffic where it doesnt belong is the worst kind of traffic.  I always thought some jobs should change their hours just for traffic reasons.  Does everybody have to be at work from 9-4?  How about we come in a 6am a few days and leave at noon?  Huh?  anyone?

I told people that while I was down there!!   I wonder how many business in ATL have flex time (something my manager probably thinks has to do with group stretching).
