Re: Hotlanta

No 'dawg sightings, even the mention of his name didn't stir up the citizens of A town. Gro will have to call in robert stack to do an unsolved mystery special.

Atlanta may have the worst rush hour traffic this side of LA (never been to LA, can't comment).  ATL has about 17 different interstates, 6 lanes in each direction, and it's still a parking lot from 3:30 to 8pm. Gro has had the pleasure of being stuck in other traffic holes across the country such as NYC, Boston, and Chicago, but atlanta fustrates me the most. It's like there shouldn't be this much traffic, but there is.

I know what you mean.  Traffic where it doesnt belong is the worst kind of traffic.  I always thought some jobs should change their hours just for traffic reasons.  Does everybody have to be at work from 9-4?  How about we come in a 6am a few days and leave at noon?  Huh?  anyone?

Dude,

What the H works from 9-4????
Are you having a flashback from 1950 or did you mean 4am-9pm?

Im saying the worst traffic is from 7:15-8:30 in the moring and from 3-6 in the afternoon.  I should have said 8-4.  That seems to be the times where most people work today.

(Not me.  Im at the gym at 5am everymorning.  If you saw my physique you would know what Im talkin about.)

bman

Bman had the hydration discussion with his better half about 1 month ago...
essentially while channel surfing, and landing on the cheezy "Two a Days" show, Bman saw the water breaks and commented on his experience (similar to what is being said but slightly different...

"We had the Sr -  Fr system, but you only got a few seconds of drink, which believe it or not, came from a spigot with a hand pump...so what we would do is to lean under the spigot(sp?) and invert your head upside down to catch the water, but at the same time, you would hold our helmet under your mouth, with your finger plugging the little hole on top, letting the overflow flow into the helmet.  When you got kicked out from under the spigot, you could drink the overflow, Salty and semi warm , but sometimes that 20 extra ozs  were a godsend...then you would put the helmet on and let the remainder flow over your head and neck and under the pads"...the players self regulated, but the coaches were constantly screaming to hurry up...

Bman's wife found this amazing (and disgusting) however, what they(most women) don't understand is that unless you have been in that position, (Hot, dehydrated) etc...you can't  pass judgement.   I was in amazement at the format of practices today...while more sophisticated and productive...much more coddling

Water breaks were a form of reward in Bmans day...

Regulator

BMAN-

I completely agree...in fact Reg has seen better water set ups for barnyard animals then some of the contraptions I have had to drink out of during 2 a days.

Our system was always, whoever gets around the field the quickest is first in line for a drink....this ALWAYS sucked for the slow kids....bc the coaches would already be yelling "LET"S GO!!! GET YOUR HATS ON!!!" before they ever stepped up the the jerry rigged pipe with a hole drilled in it.

My question is, why are all those cats on Two a days always cramping up?  I have NEVER cramped up in all my years of playing football....especially not during practice!
Which brings me back to a funny moment my junior year..
New Freshman at training camp....first time doing "4 quarters" width wise across the field up and back up and back counts as 1 quarter.
Fat lineman who obviously had stock in McDonalds started puking around the 3rd quarter and couldn't finish and after coach broke us down (while the kid was still puking) Reg was up in his grill..." I bet you wish you had done a little conditioning before show up huh?  "Did you enjoy your summer?...good!"

Man was Reg a prick back in the day.

LD11 has a big final tonight, and work has been ridiculas.  We are also leaving tomorrow to play in a golf tournament in Cape Cod this weekend.  LD11 got schooled in bowling last night to WTFF so I haven't heard the end of it.  She beat me 4 strings in a row.

So this is how bad my night is....

I'm down 139-136 with 5 pins standing, my second ball in the 10th frame.  I spare, but I went over the Fault Line and my turn got negated.  A Fault on the last ball, of the last string I played.  That would gave me 141 with another ball to go!  Instead, I had to hang my head, and listen to here talk shhhmack the rest of the night and into today.

Atleast i have my golf game on Saturday...

PBR...

ld11 come on you let her win right?  ;)

RE: Ortiz VS. Shamrock

How many more times are they going to let these two cats duke it out?  I mean it's to the point where it isn't even good watching.  It is like watching a man beat up on a little kid....what a waste of time and money

U89 is with ya Reg....Ortiz beat him down once again.....you must have noticed, they kept showing Jenna Jameson and referring to her as Tito's steady girlfriend....don't get me wrong, she's hot and all, but Tito must taste about 10,724 other dudes everytime he kisses her!!!!

Also, U89 was jacked to see Ed Harding get his azz stomped in under 1 minute.

It's Ed Herman dude.  And he's my boy.   I was extremely dissapointed int hat loss.

Tito and Shamrock on the other hand, what joke.  Shamrock is such a friggin cry baby.  Basically, if they let Tito smash him a few more times last fight, Shamrock might be dead.  This time, they let it go a few more punches and Shamrock was seeing leprechauns.  I was just dissapointed in all the kissy kissy pass the torch horsecrap.  Sportsmanship has no place in the UFC.

There are two critical factors which can result in muscle cramps due to dehydration:

1)  muscles
2)  vigorous activity

Don't know if that helps answer the question posed above.

'gro has never been sidelined with cramps either, and gro is the most inflexible cat ever to step on the gridion (therefore I should cramp more often right?).

Can't believe Ed Herman lost, he's my boy too.  Here's my take on the Tito/Shamrock match...

+k for comparing a UFC contest to an Ike Turner beatdown.

bman

BMAN doesn't think he has been to a bowling alley where the "foot fault" light has worked for 20 years...

Is there a buzzer that goes off or something?

BMAN only bumper bowls now...

'gro

JT, the class that gro took in Atlanta (industrial hygiene if anyone is interested, great stuff) was taught by a dood that looked just like milton from office space.

PBR...

pbr didnt even know there was a light....always thought it was the honesty thingee aka players call their own fouls like golf kinda stuff...

bman

gro

BMAN's first job out of college was to work for an industrial hygenist in an oil refinery...BMAN is guestimating that that job took minimum 5 years off his life...easy
BMAN got to do the jobs the salaried folks wouldn't touch....
BMAN's advice...never EVER work in an oil refinery....

Until Wednesday night, I had never been to a bowling alley that did that either.  There was a league going on at the same time so I think they were turned on.  There is a lazer that goes across the line and if you cross over it, it beeps loud, and since they do the scoring on the computer screen, it automatcially faults your turn.  WTFF did it in the first string so we knew it was there.  I think it's stoopid.
