Look what TGP has started!?!?  Nice work on the "D3 Tourney" boys.

A few other thoughts:

Frank - that play by Teague still holds up as one of the better DI championship game moments.

Gro - MNF had a huge ripple effect in FF.  Helped TGP in the Hobart Alumni FF league since I had the Bears D; killed TGP in the "work" league.  Whatcanudo?

Saxon73 - Hobart struggling doesn't require an inside source.  Anyone keeping tabs on this team realizes that they have been extremely fortunate so far this season.  Although Bart could go 9-0, TGP would also not be surprised if they lost to either SLU, Alfred, Union and/or Rocho.

Coach Phelpsie has done a solid job reviving the SLU program and TGP believes he will get his team very jacked up to beat his former squad and mentor.

Like Counselor Rossi's breakdowns, the LL is still wide open.  All us Pumpkin fans can do is continue to hope our offense can consistently play like they did last week and keep the defense from having to pull games out of their azz's (ala Da Bears last night) to keep them in the hunt.

Rt Rev - TGP would bet on the quality (and quanity) of the Sun Devilettes.  TGP experienced a similiar state of Nirvana as a grad student out here at a local SoCal Pac10 school.  However, TGP recalls a fairly solid showing by the WS camp circa 92-94.  Not all were hairly legged l-bo's as you sometimes claim.  TGP recommends revisiting the old "pig book" to refresh your memory.

Starting today... the Commish aka Gro will fill blank spots on rosters... gro will fill the position with whoever is available. This will happen on sunday's if Gro is not hungover. Looks like only JU and Garnet need some "assistance".

Gro has spoken.

Please expand the search for girls of the LL to the entire east region... gro wants to see how the LL stacks up against the E8, dirty jerz, NEFC, and NESCAC.

Wow...a thousand point scorer in highschool AND beauty?  Then again, views from the neck up can sometimes get one in trouble....Nonethe less, ZA played baskeyball in H.S. and dreamed of a 100 point career....ZA just needed 50 damn more!!!

By the way, you guys are fags for knocking me down a karma for threatening you with a -K and dissing your unfit birds.

Tell it to Lamar Thomas.  I'm sure he'll be happy to listen while he fills out his unemployment papers.

Lamar could do color for Union games.  Frank and Lamar has a nice ring to it.

Frank and Lamar?  That DOES sound kind of interesting....It would go like this: Frank speaking: "Look at that disgusting behavior of that Union Fan, swearing at the officials and throwing beer and other unknown substances at the refs".  Lamar Speaking:  "Hey, you don't come into our house, our back yard, our playground, and call US for holding...You do that and this is what you get...I'm tempted to take this stairway to the sidelines myself and deal out some neighborhood justice to those zebras right NOW!!!

Well, ZA gathers that things are good from the neck down also...

Frank Rossi

Frank's Random Rambling of the Week (Like Everything Else He Says Isn't Random and/or Rambling):

At the Union/F&M game Saturday, Frank witnessed a somewhat rotund official about ten yards behind a play running up to the end of the play and marking the ball.  Here's the problem:  the play was long over and the players were no longer in their former positions on the ground.  The official had no earthly idea where to spot the ball, except maybe the general vicinity.  He was the only man on the play.

Of course, the gain was 9 to 10 yards.  Thus, the spot, which was completely random as we know, required a measurement.  The play was good for a first down by a matter of inches.

What Frank is wondering is this:  don't moments like these make the game of football weak and arbitrary?  I mean, sure, we don't have yellow lines on the football field like Fox or ESPN...but why do we measure such an arbitrary determination, as if the official was accurate by a matter of centimeters in the first place?  Is there not a technology that can serve to improve this method -- at least showing the extent of forward progress or where the ball is at the time of the whistle?  It seems like in this day and age, and for the sake of football, we could do a lot better than a beer-bellied referee looking like a genius because he kinda sorta knew where the ball was to be spotted.

Any comments are appreciated.

Please do NOT. Schools are objecting to the objectification of their student-athletes and I'm finding it hard to dispute their points.

Schools are complaining directly to you about post patterns?  that is wild.  Is this because I never fill out that school of engineering survey I get once a year?

I'd love to see the correlation, though, between complaining schools and the existence of a cheer squad at that school in which the female cheerleaders wear short skirts and tight tops.  Not arguing against your point, Pat...I just kind of feel hypocrisy on the schools' parts on this one.  They technically profit from such objectification, and it is part of the sport that we discuss here.  It's not necessarily a tangential discussion -- although we can sometimes get gratuitous here.

Just my two cents.

Pat Coleman

I'm almost positive I see you guys talking about tennis players, lacrosse players and the like, not cheerleaders.

LD11 is beginning his quest for glory in the LLPPFFL.  Rattling off his 3rd win in as many weeks.  However, in the $$ league, LD11 may have the worst team EVER assembled.  It's embarrassing.  It makes me violent.  And yes, I blew the last of my gambling funds on the Bears last night.  I am a terrible terrible human being.

I missed this post... my other fantasy team is also embarassing. 9th place out of 10 teams,  2-4 record and those 2 wins were against the other basement dwellers.  The best part is that each week my team is projected to score a gajillion points and has 5 star fantasy matchups but finds a way to lose. re-donk-u-lous.
