Gro -

TGP feels your pain.  TGP is 11-1 and either in 1st or 2nd place in 2 of TGP's FF leagues.  TGP's 3rd league?  2-4 and in 8th place.

Still could easily have been 3-3 if not for a major coaching blunder due to reading too much into an assessment of using Betts as a way to pick up garbage time puntos vs. the Titans.  Dumb.

Dante Daniels has moved into first place in rushing in D-III and has done so in a big way...Sharpe is 6 yards ahead of Arcidiacono...ZA was not aware that Union has only given up around 70 rushing yards a game the last four games.  Perhaps the D is steadily improving...The front seven have been playing well and if the secondary can show improvement, the last three games of the regular season could be explosive.

Whoaa...the last three games of the regular season?  Football season goes way toooooo fast....

Not cool to be calling people fags.....

TGP was going to make a joke about receiving the following email from "William Smith Athletics" with the subject "View New Heron Flash Video," but given recent admonishments from the Guru, TGP will zip it.

TGP went to school with the Rt Rev.

Rt Rev was not cool then either, but just like today, he never gave a crap what was cool/appropriate.  Probably why he was always under fire by the faculty, administration and fellow students.

Maybe Rt Rev should change his handle to the Rt Irreverent?

Please expand the search for girls of the LL to the entire east region... gro wants to see how the LL stacks up against the E8, dirty jerz, NEFC, and NESCAC.

Please do NOT. Schools are objecting to the objectification of their student-athletes and I'm finding it hard to dispute their points.

It's not any more of an objectification than beauty contests.

KR wants to know, do any of these schools have scantily clad dance lines?

If an athletic department sponsored a beauty contest among its student-athletes I would say then that department would not have a leg to stand on with its request. I don't think that's the case here.

But volleyball teams continue to play in spandex shorts, gymnasts perform in skin-tight leotards (so tight gymnasts must cannot have any body hair or it shows), and tennis playes play in short skirts.

Don't get me wrong, Pat, I know you're just trying to cover your backside and rightfully so, but it seems like these schools like many others have their priorities mixed up.

I'm almost positive I see you guys talking about tennis players, lacrosse players and the like, not cheerleaders.

Student-athletes are public figures, whether we like it or not.  When a school is given the leeway to promote you as a student-athlete, you basically have given up many rights related to how you are portrayed or discussed, short of harassment, slander or defamation.  That's just the legal point of view on this.

I've already given my moral point of view, which is essentially that any school that has a cheerleading program and that is complaining about posters objectifying athletes here is a hypocritcal school.

It doesn't mean I am advocating for continued objectification -- but as Voltaire (purportedly) said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

With that being said, I apply this quote to the following link:

It could mean an oncoming apocolypse when 'gro and I are on the same side of an issue.  Just a warning to all.

If ya don't like it, the line forms in the rear.
