Looks like Union will be a full strength for next weeks showdown with Hobart. Twitchell back from hamstring pull and Angiletta back from broken clavicle...both played today. Should be a great game.

Rolevio

Great to see Union finally fulfill expecations and to see Angiletta and Twitchell back.

How did Angiletta look today?

Rain and wind made it a tough day to throw the ball, but when you rush for 415 yards it really doesn't matter.  Angilletta had 3 catches for 27 yds and Twitchell 5 for 80+.

It's great for Union to have both of their star WR's back on the field and to head to Geneva with everyone healthy.  It should be a a heck of a battle this week vs the Statesmen.

Naked Nott Run

hehe told ya Angelleti was returning... some people just make stuff up about red shirt and stuff... should be a good smashmouth game this weekend 'Bart
Anyone notice how none of the kids from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were even a little bit cool... Where was the athlete who pile drives wonka into the chocolate river??? Coulda done sooo much more with that "classic"

Friends at the game told ZA that Angeletta looked very smooth and confident, had a touchdown pass called back and blocked well...

The E-8 has some sparks flying with a four way tie for first right now....Looks like the entire east has really stepped up their level of competitive football throughout their leagues....Competition is really amazing...and exciting.

Sounds like Ithaca proved defense matters...making Springfield one dimensional...

Looks like the Union defense did the same to SLU as SLU could not run the ball...

This will make the Union/Hobart matchup a great one as both teams can run and throw the ball...Let's hope the officials stay out of the game as much as possible.

Question...When officials call holding penalties almost immediately after the snap of the ball (as ZA has seen many times in d-3 officiating....are they "make up" calls for previous holds or warnings? Is it possible to hold just about at the snap of the ball?  These calls can really take a team out of a drive...SLU was driving well and had one holding call after another and the same thing happened to union on their next drive...one after another....ZA's seen officials call holding from so far away ZA thought the zebras were wearing some type of binoculars....

Ok, here we go. 38-25-1 on the season......

Arizona +4
Cinci -3.5
Baltimore +1.5
Houston +3
Jax +7.5
Seattle +6
SF +16
Tampa +9
Rams +9.5
Denver -3
Jets +1.5
Pittsburgh -9
Carolina -5
Pats -2

-There are 12 Crappy games this week and 2 great ones.  This could be a loser week.

-Carolina or Pittsburgh might be the best picks of the day.  Romo is awful and Pittsburgh should beat up on the Raiders.

-Pats/Vikings?  Thats a game.  So is Denver/Indy.

I'm not quite sure, but that Philly -  Jax game could be a good one as well.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

union89

Oh man it's Union/Hobart week!!!  Why the heck is Geneva, NY sooooo far away!!  U89 will have to be satisfied to listen to the game.

U89 sets the line at Hobart (-2), due to the fact that the game is being played close to the North Pole.

U89 will take the Dutchmen on the moneyline.....Union don't need your stinking points!!

union89

U89 calls 'collusion' on the big "MonkeySpompville" trade between the Reguhaters and Miracle'Gro......our commissioner EngineGro is corrupt and must be overthrown....

U89 thinks its about time someone made a trade.....nobody wants Alge Crumpler or Randy McMichael??

Re: Pumpkinheads vs. Onion Collage.

Should be interesting next weekend.

The Rev thinks 'Bart is actually at a disadvantage having to defend a top spot against a team who wants that top spot more than life itself.  Defending (in other words: "not losing") is no way to win a ball game.  Hopefully The Statesmen will be looking at the game from a more positive aspect.

'Bart has a wicked homefield advantage this weekend, and thanks to the big money drive kicking off this weekend, there will be beaucoup support for the Statesmen.  The Rev reckons there will be a massive and rowdy crowd.  The Rev was there for the 2004 H-U game, and it was pretty impressive to see the Statesmen hand it to the Dutchmen.  The Rev was there for the 2005 H-U game at U, and was also duly impressed [by Union].

The Rev thinks the Hobart-Union game is a very legit contender for game of the week.  A most excellent rivalry of the Old School Way.

The Rev's prediction: A good, tough game in which both teams leave everything on the field with Bart edging out Union: 27-24

Gotta disagree...Union's O at full strength first time this season....Union 31  Hobart 17

Senor RedTackle

LD11...RT took your advice and went to see The Departed by himself tonight. Other than listening to the psychiatrist butcher the accent a couple of times, RT gives 2 thumbs up.....awesome flick. This is a must-see...

RT's favorite character...the Alec Baldwin one. He isn't a major factor in the movie but he is just so freakin funny when he does roles like that. He had a couple of good one liners ...

labart96

Union aren't the underdogs here.  Not with their squad back at full strength.  They are also the defending LL champs - and as RT's idol Ric "The Nature Boy" says -

TO BE THE MAN, YOU GOTTA BEAT THE MAN!

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Bart's gonna need all their home field and alumni mojo working to take the title back.

+K for the nature boy reference!
