I need an afternoon miracle...

2-Team parlay
SF ML over MIN (Min -4)
DEN ML over PIT (Pit -3)

There's saving a little dignity.  Playing the moneyline on both paid off nicely.  Made up for the earlier debacle.

'gro

hey LD, how about the thrashing gro put on you in LLPPFFL?  Tomlinson is no joke.

8) The referees in today's game did an EXCELLENT job, since we barely mentioned them today.  The ECAC may have taken great care in avoiding the debacles on both sides of the ball from the 2004 visit to Boswell by naming very adept officials.  My hat's off to them.

FYI...I was under the impression that this crew had members on it that were also on the 2004 game. Same crew, different circumstances, and both times made excellent calls. BTW, just be happy they aren't dropping penalties like the hockey refs are doing this year! If it keeps up, they will have to swap the benches for the penalty box

I'm trying to figure out how to validate whether you're right or not...I'll see what I can find out.

However, I think most people who watched the 2004 Union/Hobart game would remind you that the refs were blowing calls all over the field for both teams.  It wasn't just the questionable third and fourth down calls in overtime that created controversy.

What the hell are you guys betting on football for anyway?  It takes the fun out of watching the games and you will never win anyway.

Get a life.

Rev-

Great to see you at Boswell Field today.  It was nice to meet your father and brother.  Union played a much better game and deserves to win the LL.  However,  Coach Craig will get the troops ready for U of R.   We need a win in order to have 2 teams represent LL in the NCAA's.

On another note,  my daughter has been to 14 Bart games before  the age of three and is very devasted by her first witnessed lose of the Statesman.

DG

Gibby,

Good to see you, too.  The Rev thinks the last time we met up must have been the 2004 Hobart-Union game, or was it the 2004 Merchant Marine game?  Too long, m'man.

You said you moved near Geneva. Where?
The Rev is strongly considering buying a brick house on Pulteney Street and maybe taking a really s****y job in Admissions as a foot in the door.

The Rev is "praying over" his options.

DEA who is your son on the team bud?

Rev... No offense meant with last post. Totally messin... I hope Hobart wins out and we both can make some noise in the playoffs again.

How was the game... blow out or fight?

Mess all you want, m'man.  The Rev was really disappointed by the game.  As Rev mentioned, could not decide if score accruately reflected performance.  Hobart had some really good plays, but for every good play, there were 20 mediocre ones and one really stupid, unnecessary penalty.  The Rev considers it a blow-out.  Union was clearly the superior team on the field that day.  The Rev reckons that if football were like baseball in terms of frequency of meetings, out of ten games, Union would win at least 7.

The Rev would like to see the Statesmen enter the playoffs, too, but wonders if it would be worth anyone's time and trouble.  So maybe 'Bart could face some pogues in the first round and then get knocked out in the 2nd round.

The Rev concurs with the opinion stated here (I believe by Frank Rossi) that Coach Cragg has become too conservative with play calling.  In fact, so conservative as to be predictable.  Rev thinks Union could read the plays like a comic book.  So the victory was an intellectual as well as physical feat.  The Rev would like to see more balls-out plays.

Currently The Rev is still cooling down.  He arrived in PHX after 11pm after sitting on a plane with crying babies and toddlers for nearly 6 hours (because we sat on the tarmac at EWR for an hour waiting for a slot).  The Rev now has something else to be pissed about instead of the game.

Stlarry

Stlarry just returned from a weekend up a Clemson for the Maryland game (fear the turtle!), and has had to speed read just to catch up on posts.  Congrats to Union and UofR on big wins.  SLU also won big against MMA to win the Hoffman cup for the first time.  SLU's qb Bezio had 6 total TDs (5 passing), and wr Mike O'Donnel caught 3 of them.  If the larries beat the otherneers next week, SLU will have its first winning season since 1991...hell may have just frozen over...

Referees in last night's game were atrocious.  Troy Brown got a taunting penalty for flipping the ball to the ref.  Vrabel got an illegal hands to the face call, although no one was near him.  It was a disgusting display.

And Peyton Manning is in every single commercial on TV, you think someone would help him work on his facial expressions.  He always looks like he's sitting on the toilet, taking a dump, trying to learn aeronautical engineering.  Nerd.

I'll agree that Peyton is a nerd and over hyped right now by the media....

However, I could call a penalty on every single play on NE when they are on defense....

Also, Vrabels hands to the face call was when he was jamming Clark, he got his hands on his facemask while doing so....
