I, too, would be happier if you guys lost the gambling picks. Someday that's going to catch the eyes of the wrong person at the AA and we're going to catch hell for it.

Surprisingly, there are Cortland posters questioning Ithaca academics....RT finds that interesting. Being a western NY native, RT always viewed Cortland as a gym teacher school.....RT was an honors student in HS and never, ever fathomed attending Cortland St...
BWAH HA HA HA!!!

The Rev's uncle went to Cortland St. and became a gym teacher.  While at Cortland, he met my aunt who was...drumroll, please...a PE major.

Many moons later, The Rev's eldest sister went to IC and majored in PE for both a BS and MS.  She now teaches sports history at Cal State Sacramento.  Look for her new book on Wilma Rudolph.

edited for shorter link

The Rev is from Norwich, and Cortland was about the last place we wanted to go.  It would have been like leaving East Bumblefudge only to end up in Palookaville.  Not like going to school in Geneva was a huge improvement over Norwich, but at least it had the lake.  In Norwich, we hung out at a pig farm.

RT-
What are you doing for the Tailgate....do you need any assistance or food or beverages or cash?....(besides the BYOB and snacks to pass)

What time are you planning on attending? This could influence RT's answer...

Irregardless, the RT would recommend that you accomodate any "special" requests that you or your wife may require. For example, when RT was in HS football, there was a DL lineman we'll call Scary Gary (SG) who had his own big bottle of orange Gatorade for gameday. SG would keep it in a special cooler off to the side and no one could drink from it. He would put a piece of athletic tape on the bottle and write "Gary" on it w/ a magic marker. So if we need an orange Gatorade for Reg or MR, please bring said beverage and put the tape on it.

Does MR make any special dishes?....any kind of salsa or dip that she is famous for?

Dude,
The only dip that is going to survive a 6 hour road trip and a night in a hotel is "tostitos salsa con carne"  Reg makes a mean 7 layer bean dip....but I don't think it can handle the trip.  I can pick some stuff up that morning to pass from Masellis or Price Choppa.

I will probably show up fashionably late around 10am.

Of course, Reg knows if he needs any boones farms wine coolers or anything else special that he either needs to borrow one from Gro or go to Hoosick beverage to pick some up.   Other than that, I will be bringing somewhere between 2 and 67 miller lights, some car bomb ingrediants, a couple shot glasses, some wireless internet (for any last minute posting) and life sized picture of LD11 (if he doesnt make it).

Dont forget about this...

Members of the Cortland State offensive line burrying QB Alex Smith after his season ending injury....

The Cortland State defensive front 4 (in order Coyne, Hass, Connolly, Robinson)...

Wickedly Funny, Upstate.

the Guru has spoken...

Just putting it into perspective, guys....the Guru runs a site that has a perceived link, even if it's unofficial, to college sports. Furthermore, the Guru's new gig has him involved with major, national media. We don't want to unwittingly put the Guru in an uncomfortable spot by creating a potential perception, even if it's totally false, that the site endorses gambling among its membership. It's crazy to think that there are those out there that can be so anal about such things (not the Guru, of course) but, sadly, it is what it is and one less headache that the Guru probably doesn't need.

Reg's Cosby-sweaters, on the other hand, now that's good material.....

So we can still talk about abusing alcohol and getting fall down drunk on car bombs at a tailgate??

Not out of the closet, out of probation.  You guys cried to Pat enough to get me suspended from the board.  You sure talk about manlove a lot.  Are you curious?

Nobody sent me a complaint. I just knew it was way way out of line, and considering that we officially take a dim view on posts that do nothing but bash another poster, what did you think we would do when you created a poll in that vein?

Pat, have you SEEN the cortaca board? Or this board the week of IC-Fisher last year? And does the LL board even talk about football?

Also Pat, you should wander over to the LL boards... not much going on over there in the way of football, actually, sports in general...

Ok...we've been sucker punched by the E8 faithful...RT pulled this thread from about 5 or 6 pages back. This dude Tags is calling us out to the Guru for the quality/content of our posts. Does he not know who we are in LL and what our commitment is to the Guru and this website? We talk football!!! (Although RT thinks folks could scale back the gambling picks....)

The Rev finds it bizarre that someone from another board should even worry about what goes on at this board.  If another member of LLPP. Inc. were to say, "Hey fellas, let's drop the Karma and gambling talk, and get into this week's games," that would be one thing, but who goes and checks out another board and then "tattles"?

Sure, this is a football board, but it also is a social gathering, and so we can't talk football and only football.  After all, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

...we should coordinate on said car bombs. Bring the glass ones..not the plastic. they dont sink - although, we've been pouring the glass in lately to make reuse a little more user-friendly.

KS always thought was considered football talk.

yes.....also, RT is a little disappointed since U89 has settled into one main squeeze. RT used to look forward to U's weekly conquests and the stories of the various office filth he'd wheeled that week...

U89 is not real happy with the above development either......

Russ' wife can not attend on Saturday, so U89's lady friend will not be making the trip either...could make for a very dangerous Saturday in Troy.
