LL Games
Rowan at Hobart
Union at St. John Fisher

Washington and Lee moves in to the East as the 8th seed vs. Wilkes

From this, it looks like:

1) Wilkes
2) Springfield
3) SJF
4) Rowan
5) Hobart
6) Union
7) Curry
8) Washington & Lee

Switch Hobart and Rowan, Hobart is hosting by the looks of it.

I went back to confirm via the DVR...Daria said, "Rowan will host..."

Yeah, heard that too.  Originally I believe they had Hobart hosting on the graphic, hence my initial confusion.

The graphics were consistent:

A----
      l
B----

C----
      l
D----

E----
      l
F----

G----
      l
H----

A, D, E and H were the home teams.

That's a typical NCAA bracket setup, yes. Plus, we also posted a bracket, that specified who is hosting.

(Here's the edited version of the ECAC guesses)

The question has been asked as to whether RPI will earn an ECAC bid after yesterday's big victory against Union.  Let's take a look at the ECAC contenders with 3 losses or less:

Cortland State   9-1
Coast Guard   8-2
Bridgewater St.   7-2
--------------------------------
Ithaca   7-3
Alfred   7-3
Rochester   7-3
Maine Maritime   6-3
RPI   6-3

Weknow instantly that three slots are filled (Cortland, Coast Guard and Bridgewater St.).  That leaves five teams fighting for three slots.  My guess is that Maine Maritime is safe because of the New England bias that the ECACs tend to employ.  In terms of momentum, RPI is the only remaining team of the four to win its last game.  In fact, Alfred lost two of its final three games -- as did Ithaca.

My guess is this:  the committee will use a little patronage and give one E8 and one LL team the final two bids.  That means that Alfred, with a win against Ithaca, and Rochester, with a win over RPI, will likely get the final two bids.  This assumes a lot, including that all the teams signed up for an ECAC game in the first place.

You can take Ithaca out of the discussion.  No interest in playing in the ECAC's this year.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Until I see proof of withdrawal, I keep them in the assessment.  And even in the assessment, I don't think they would have made it.

Yet another reason RT hates Ithaca more than any team in D3 (except maybe Rowan and Union)...bunch of arrogant, pompus posers. RT was there in the snow in 2003 when RPI knocked off the Bombers to get to the final 4. The Ithaca fans would not stop complaining about the snow....like it favored RPI or something? So the ECAC's aren't good enough for the men in blue? Probably a good idea to not risk another loss in 2006 anyway IC.....

labart96

Bart heads down to the Boro......hopefully we'll finally give Rowan a good game this season.

Congrats and good luck Statesmen and Dutchmen in the NCAAs!

Make the LLPP proud.

Hope to hear of an ECAC bid for the Engineers!

ECAC's not good enough? What about the six (SIX) ECAC games IC has played in since 1997? What about 2004, when Ithaca accepted an ECAC bid after a one-loss snub from the NCAA tourney? What about the countless other ECAC tournaments other IC sports have participated in? IC may have withdrawn their name from ECAC consideration this year, but they have NEVER turned down a bid that was offered to them. Ithaca fans complainers? What about the "nice game fisher" chant and the applause at cortaca this year? As far as being "posers", please see my signature. I believe TCNJ and Rowan have SCHOOL POLICIES against playing the ECACs, and ITHACA is arrogant?? Get your facts and opinions straight. I am sick of going onto every board in this place to set people straight about IC and the ECACs.

Max....then don't come on..that's why it's called the "Liberty League" board. You have a forum on the E8 board. Get your facts straight too...were you here in 2001 and 2003 at Troy when IC fans were obnoxious and rude and carrying themselves with an air of superiority, almost like RPI didn't belong on the field with them? As for the other sports, that argument is irrelevant.

Those aren't facts. That's a vague memory from over three years ago. Honestly, I can't imagine people from Ithaca complaining about snow... does that make any sense to you? I mean, I'm not saying you're wrong, but really "We woulda won if it wasn't for the snow!" IC plays on grass and thrives on sh*tty weather. If people were saying that stuff, they're idiots. And since when do IC fans being idiots dictate whether the football program is "arrogant" or "pompous." You've got a lot of bitterness to redirect.

As far as not coming on the board, I don't care if it's "your" board, I'll bet if I posted on E8 that RPI was a bunch of losers you'd have something to say to that.

Upstate NY FAN

I think C-State should have made the NCAA playoffs.  However,  I hope Union and Bart play against each other.   Lets have the LL represent in Salem.

The Rev is glad to see his boys make it to the NCAA tournement.

The Rev also originally wrote a longer message than this, but has since re-considered.

Suffice it to say that Hobart will play well, but Rowan is simply the bigger, better team.

Rowan will win next weekend's game by at least 14 despite Hobart stepping up and playing as tough as they can.
