It will be ahuge win for RPI regardless if Cortland mails it in or not.  RPI had a down year with a 6-3 record.  Dissapointing completely.  A win against Cortland would be huge going into next year.  Cortland is probably a better team but if RPI plays to potential, they can win.

LD, welcome to the formal name club.  Good move.

The grassy knoll on '86 was hilarious... it was HUGE. There may have been a union player under there waiting to grab an ankle if the play went by.

If you look at the game's stats... union DID showcase their talent. 400+ yards of offense. Over 100 rushing from TA and 100 receiving each from their 2 starters. Gro couldn't belive it when he read it. Bottom line, RPI wanted it more. Can't belive how many INT's RPI dropped!!  the game could of been a lot more in red's favor.  Then... can't belive RPI was throwing the ball with the lead in the 4th, that INT could of killed them.

Union fans... schmans... was anyone else suprised?  Sorry DEA I know you were just ribbing the RPI guys and posting the facts "Shoes, Schmooze bring on the NCAAs" but you got exactly what you wanted. Good luck at SJF, that game is winable for union but they are tough to beat at home.  Maybe Audino can call up King and ask for some tips at beating SJF.

Firstly, dea is a parent of a current player and has made numerous silly/ill-timed statements like this.  This and previous statements like it are reasons for RPI supporters hatred....to U89's knowledge, dea never played or attended Union....poor representative.

On to more important things, game related:

1)  It was great to once again see the LLPP, Inc. "Whack Pack"....RT, AJ & Garnet, great to see you all again.....Reg, Mrs. Reg & 'Gro, great to meet you as well as our honorary member, LawyerGro...U89 looked under that big clump of mud on the field and much to his chagrin could not find LD11...hopefully next year.
2)  As for the Union fans opening the Merlot....who was the RPI cat at the tailgate with his own personal magnum of Merlot carrying around one hard-boiled egg??  No joke, U89 saw him pregame then again at halftime....same bottle same egg...hysterical, but what's with the egg??
3)  The field was in bad shape, but didn't RPI have to play on the same field and under the same condition as Union?  To bring up the field conditions in passing is ok, but that should have had nothing to do with the final score.
4)  Someone else mentioned it previously, but Union played with absolutely NO emotion at all.  The RPI sideline went 'wilding' Troy style every time anything remotely positive went thier way.  Union, on the other hand, appeared to be preoccupied with the RPI cheerleaders in halfshirts (not good BTW) or anything else BUT the game.  U89 heard people mention prior to the game wheather or not Union would rest thier starters....are you kidding U89??  Union had much more to gain with a win than RPI did...with a win, Union had a shot at a #2 seed and possible home field throughout Regional play.  If anything, U89 gives RPI more props for finding motivation in this game....great performance by RPI and respect for the way Coach King was able to find a way to motivate his squad.
5)  Finally, as was the case last year, quarterback play is killing the Dutchmen.  Marotti makes very poor decisions and has very poor accuracy.  Prior to release, the qb drops the ball toward his right knee and windmills it down field.  U89 observed this last year as well and hoped that the problem would be corrected in a year span....no dice....hopefully the offense can overcome this problem....RPI had 3(??) interceptions, but easily could have had many more due to DB drops.

Best of Luck to Union, Hobart and RPI in the post season!!

Good post U89.  Next year good buddy.

I have heard rumors of the wine toting sports jacket wearing bandit.  He was a member of the Colvin Circle Wack Pack.  Does it surprise you?

So now AUPepBand must also adopt a formal name to post among the elitists of the Liberty League Post Patterns board? Third person isn't enough?

Must AUPepband remind you of his roots? Deeply planted in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, AUPepBand grew up on a beef farm (now an organic dairy farm) on a hill a mile or so outside of "town," far removed from most of Academia that had settled in the valley below. Redneck farmers from the hills liked nothing better than coming into the valley to watch the purple-clad Saxons put some good hits on the city-slicker boys from Rochester. Been since 1987 since they've had the opportunity. Rochester's coming to Alfred Saterday. AUPepBand is exited!

A formal name may be a little out of character for AUPepBand.....but perhaps his cohort, AUKaz00 would partake. AUKaz00's edukated--got one of dem fancy four-year degrees.

No offense, but I stopped reading after you said you grew up on a beef farm.

I wasnt too impressed with Cortland.  But they are well coached, conservative, and have some athletes that make plays.  They also have a great kicker and punter.  I guess it depends on which quarterback plays for them.  From what I understand, it was the second and then third and then fourth? quarterback that played for them last saturday.  And they didnt do a bad job though.

it was interesting too as there was some talk on the cortaca board earlier this week about the Cortland lines being dirty.  I did see 2 illegal chopblocks were called against them on Sat.

Cortland is known for going low.  Saw a couple of em go for the side and backs of knees when Rowan and Cortland tangled.

Thanks RT.  As you know however, Grotahdog.com is a fun, non-profit organization that donates all proceeds to local charities.  No gambling allowed.  I will stop certain verbage however.
