Reg applauds the U crew for showing up at the tailgate and hopes nothing got "awkward" for them....Reg further applauds FR for coming to the Ruck afterwards....I dont even think Reg would have taken up RT on that one.  But everything was fine.

The only awkward moment for Garnet came when MR said, " we haven't always been boating people...only since we moved to Annapolis."  Garnet had to fight back the urge to say, "yeah, I know all about it.  The waverunner too!"

YES.. THANK YOU!!!! RT was trying to figure out who this dude resembled. This is it!!

eh, baseball. Another "hot stove item" for sportscenter.

Homework time LLPP. This sunday, I want you to watch ESPN NFL pregame. Hopefully most of you already do, then you can comment now.  What is up with michael irvin's tie?? Each week the knot is wider than his neck. Its so big that when they take their coats off and "run plays" in the studio his tie barely makes it past his chest.

The real kicker is the it doesn't happen every week, sometimes the knot looks normal. You have to see it, so just check it out this week.

BLAST FROM THE LLPP PAST!

TGP is wondering how the LLPP contingent felt the morning after said Shoeapolooza 2006?

Please select from the criteria below (which TGP pulled from the LLPP HOF - btw you guys are engineers - can't you come up with a LLPP Classic/HOF website for stuff like this?)

TGP's initial guesses are that Gro was in the 5-6 range, RT was about a 3 or 4, FR was probably only a 2 - maybe a 3 since he went to the Ruck.  U89 was probably a 3 same deal for Reg (maybe a 4)

Level 1
You're fine, you wake up with the usual symptoms of dry mouth and stank breath, but all and all you can function normally during the day.

Level 2
Did I really drink that much last night? Slight headache. Takes you longer to get out of bed. Nothing a ham and cheese omelet can't fix.

Level 3
I feel like crap, this is where you start sleeping through alarms, you're late for class/work. You're able to move throughout the day but everything is in slow motion.

Level 4
Surprise! Level 4 actually starts off like level 2, you wake up, feel decent, eat something, then BAM it hits and you take your breakfast for a swim in the toilet. You're calling in sick today (or its a weekend) and you spend the day on the couch watching maury povich and drinking water. Level 4's are beatable, which means you can still muster up the strength to go out again that night.

Level 5
You wake up, look at the clock, it's 3pm. You're probably not wearing clothes and there's a good chance you have a penis drawn on you somewhere. There's a half drank bottle of beer on your nightstand, and the smell immediately throws your digestive system into 'R'. You want to eat but nothing stays down. The room slowly spins on multiple axis. You tell yourself you'll never drink again.

Level 6
Total blackout from last night. Everything hurts. You can't stand, you can't go back to sleep, and you sure as hell can't eat anything. You don't even want to eat because opening your mouth makes you want to puke. TV makes your eyes burn, the radio sounds like there's a midget on a pogo stick in your brain. You are useless. You are in a virtual coma. Don't be surprised if you throw up 4-5 times today. The chances of your rallying from a 6 are slim.

How about the colors and some of the cuts of his suits.......maybe he keeps his cocaine in the knot.

Great question TGP....U89 was certainly in the 3.12-3.35 range.

RT was in the 3-4 range but not sure how to really score it. RT was certainly getting his glow on at the pregame (while on the air w/ Frank), during said game, at the postgame, then at the Ruck...when 9pm rolled around, RT knew it was one of those decision points in life - he could still navigate the highways using his cat like reflexes and experience of driving after a few OR he could turn into 'Gro and let it ride for the evening. Since RT is cohabitating with his lady, RT went for the "safe" play and headed home. At about 11:30 pm, RT's woke up, head spinning and had to make the run to the john to unload the contents of his stomach. The next day was spent in self-reflection, not moving too far from the couch.....

U89 likes to also factor in 'days to full recovery'.  This was certainly a 2 dayer....Monday was still a bit foggy...Tuesday was fine.  The older U89 gets, the recovery time increases as well.

Gro may have had a new type of hangover last weekend... After drinking all day gro had a legit level 3 hangover by 10pm. headache, felt like yacking but didn't (you have to keep ruck wings down, they're delicious). Crashed the pullout couch in regs room around 11:30, drank about a gajillion cups of lovely troy tap water, and woke up hangover free.

edit: gro definetly laid off the sauce after the game and hit cruise control, maybe 3 beers at the ruck tops.  you gotta know when to fold'em.

Haven't we had more than enough of this middle-school restroom humor?

This coming from the same guy who a couple of posts ago on the MAC board was discussing SNAFU's and FUBAR's.

Garnet,
Reg agrees...that was slightly awkward....but very humorus....Reg had the SEG (Ish eating grin) the entire time he was at the tailgate...it was like I had something of my own that MR didn't know about....good times!

So MR was drinking a diet ginger ale before the game (shes not much of a pregamer, unless we are watching ND.....anywhoo, just like when Reg invented the "glove cooler" a couple years ago, he invented the refillable gingerale bottle.  Reg doesn't remember exactly how many of those tasty sudsy ginger ales he had at the game, but it was around 4 (in addition to the pre game debauchery)
By the time I arrived at the Ruck I had consumed a few more and don't remember much more than that other than eating a wingburger, everyone stealing my fries, telling Frank to order a wingburger, beating Gro in darts, eating between 19 and 27 wings, watching the dart game RT and FR play in last about 3X longer than Gro and Regs game, somehow getting lost walking further downtown instead of walking uptown 2 blocks, yelling at my realtor, coming to the rensselaer inn to tell MR to yell at the realtor, drinking 8 styrofome cups of water, waking up from Gros call and then eating breakfast the next morning...
There was no level 3...and only a slight level 1.5 the next morning....which is good bc Reg couldnt take the 6hr ride home near nausia the entire trip.

It must have been the 4.5 shots of grease I ingested along with my wings that helped me.

PS- Garnet, sorry for asking you multiple times where you lived...Reg was listening, but slightly less functional than normal.

Warren appears to be both fascinated and frustrated by the LLPP.  He has questioned our banter on more than one occasion.

TGP can appreciate the purists who want to discuss only football related topics, but TGP would never venture on another league's board and question their S.O.P. irrespective of how TGP felt about it.

Although he is a D3 HOFer, it's really the Guru's job to admonish the LLPP should we get out of line - like the other day when the LLPP went Medieval up in here.

Otherwise, no harm, no foul.

A 2-3 is right...I went back to my parents' house in Ballston Spa and fell asleep around 9:30pm.  My mother reportedly came into my room in an attempt to have a conversation with me, since I went direct from NYC to RPI Saturday morning.  Wasn't gonna happen; snored through the door knock and her trying to talk.

However, did I happen to mention my darts prowess when compared to a slightly off-kilter RT?

Warren, high 80s here today and muggy.  Great night for high school football.  This is the last week of the high school regular season.  Should be much cooler next week if Trinity should host a game.  Of course, this is South Texas, so it could be hot.  :-\

Ah, yes, the vagaries of San Antonio winter weather.

I can remember a Christmas day in the high-80's and a Christmas day in the low-30's, and often it was the very same Christmas day (those nasty ol' "blue northers" that came roaring in from Canada by way of Oklahoma with nothing to slow them down except a few barbed-wire fences south of Dallas  ;)).

If your idea of a salvo is Germany's invasion of Poland, then, yes, that was a salvo.  :D

Colonel John certainly brought out his Stukas and Panzers, didn't he? And maybe even "Anzio Annie" fired off a few rounds, as well.
