Cortland did not belong in the playoffs and Hobart did, that was shown on the fields of play yesterday afternoon.

Although this quote was not the main focus of Reno 911's post, The Rev extends his gratitude for such a fine compliment.

I don't know where we're going to be shooting this week but we hope to be broadcasting both East Region semifinals, one South, one North and one West.

Pat- What are the chances you will personally be back at Springfield this weekend?

if peyton had any legs... the whole left side was open on the 4th and 2. Dallas blitzed the LB inside.... even manning can get 2 yards.

Keeley had the whole right side open on Alfred's 2-point conversion to tie the game with UR....  While I saw it wide open, it seemed like forever for Keeley to get to the goal line. Keeley seldom relies on his legs to pick up yardage. Perhaps that's why it worked!

AU...one other thing, anything you can do to line up a sweatshirt if they exist would be tremendous...and if you can, the earlier the better b/c RT wants to get it embroidered for Mr.RT. IT would mean alot to him since his health is not doing so well....thanks!!!

RT:
Will be looking first at Kampus Kave in Alfred, which has an embroidery service (they do embroidery for other stores, too). Will likely find a nice XXL Alfred Football sweatshirt (hooded or no?) there and could have it embroidered there as well, if you wish. Kampus Kave was around when your dad was playing here, I believe. In fact, owner's late father was master of ceremonies at AU football banquets way back when, although AUPepBand could probably not repeat some of said MC's jokes in mixed company. Sensing the urgency, will get right on it, RT.

+K and best to RT's pops, a mighty Saxon Warrior of the undefeated kind.

AU...thanks, you're a very good man!! PopsRT is going through a tough spell and he's always stayed close to his beloved Saxons. He and MamaRT went to the Norwich game and they raved about the prime rib that Alfred served..lol. In the last few years, he's had both hips replaced, a knee replaced, back surgery, and now some stuff has set in that requires some radiation to treat.

He's got some nice felt banners from the undefeated years in '55 and '56 he's really proud of that RT remembers looking at all the time when RT was young RT.  A nice seatshirt w/ his last name (and # if you could find it from back that far??) would be a great Christmas gift that would mean a ton to him. Seriously...this means alot to RT that AU is welling to help...

+K to aupep and RT for being good people... the world needs more of that...today superman had to call his brother to remind him to call grandma superman to wish her a happy b-day

Agreed - Poppa RT will be just fine with RT Jr's support. Tags went through this with his father not long ago.

PopsRT wore #24 for the Purple and Gold. During the 1956 season, he was listed as being a 6-1, 205-lb. 22-year-old junior tackle from Elba....the last name on the back won't cost much!

AUPepBand, in addition to his duties with AU's Herrick Library Access Services (Circulation), is assistant to the AU Archivist, thus giving AUPepBand immediate access to the AU Archives, part of the Herrick Library Collection. Have copied mugshot of PopsRT from 1956 game program along with team photo and team roster....could probably be put together and framed somehow. Be a nice project for Ms.AUPepBand, a BAFA (bachelor of arts in fine arts) junior at AU.

Friend and teammate of PopsRT mentioned that his health issues were, unfortunately, closely related to his football career.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

bobby has to say congrats to SJF - they put a woopin on the U yesterday.  Like some others have pointed out already, its been a long time since the U took such a beating.

Good luck the rest of the way, its a good feeling to practice early on thanksgiving day.

+k AU - that's a great thing to do for RT. You're a good man.

AUPepBand

AUPepBand, a third generation AU employee, considers it an important part of his library job to do everything within his powers to serve the needs of students, faculty, staff, alumni....and our Saxons. Happy to say AUPepBand is not alone in his sentiments here at AU....and it's a pleasure.

AU is unbelievably gracious and RT only wishes he'd had access to this before...but PopaRT will appreciate this probably more than any gift he's ever received, for sure. It will certainly help to pick up his spirits this holiday season, especially since he starts treatments in Jan.  RT would absolutely love the framed photo idea, that is fantastic. This is something that will RT will keep in the family posession as we move through generations of future RedTackles. Just tell me what the materials and your & Mrs.AU's time is worth. Any collateral from PopaRT's era would be huge...RT has never seen any of it, just heard stories and Pops is getting up there in years so it's nice to make the most of this stuff.

#24 huh? Interesting # for a lineman...then again, this was the era of single bar or no facemasks and numbers didn't correspond to positions. 205lbs??...lol.....would've been a FS nowadays in D3!! Mr.Schultz was correct....those injuries all culmulatively can be traced to football at AU. What would be a minor arthroscope today was a big deal back then...so he never got the benefit of modern medicine. So a moderate knee injury in 1956 coupled w/ the fact PopsRT is a big dude leads to years of deterioration on all the surrounding joints (hip, other knee, back, etc).

You have RT's email...pm RT to make arrangements on this. Again, thanks so much...AU is a good dude and this will be remembered.

So learn a lesson everyone...stay in shape as you age!!!
