looks like there will be a new #1 in the LLPPFFL this week... pool boy (TDT) has been demoted.

Well, of course Antonio Gates caught his first pass in the 1st quarter last night and he just didn't cut it...

However, Most of this season I was using the LLPPFFL as my saving grace, since I couldn't win a game in my $$$ league.  But i've won 3 out 4 over there now, so I don't care as much about LLPPFFL.

In my $$$ league, prior to this week, I was 9th out of 10.  8 teams make the playoffs.  My win this week will most likely(need to make it through MNF) put me tied for 8th but ahead in the points scored.  Then i'll be 1 game behind 4 people.  If I run the table, I could end up in a decent position.  Dude with LT just moved into sole possesion of 1st.  I DON'T want to play him.

'gro

last week in the $$FFL gro beat the #1 team, this week gro lost to the #10 (out of 10) team.

Only 6 of 10 make the playoffs, and gro will be in 8th place after this week... things are looking bleek.

superman57

superman is on his way too winning his 7th straight... started off losing 4 in a row now my team can't be stopped and LT is killing everyone

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I think Pat would have preferred that the LL teams won last week... but, now there's more time for things like this...

Cool or uncool?

Those great gals in customer service are putting on a baby shower for a lady in HR.... at work. So they send an invite out plant wide and it even includes the web address to the gift registry.  Is that cool or uncool to put everyone at work in this situation?

Gro is definetly not dropping his hard earned coin on some silly gift... but Gro does not want to waste his lunch time fake smiling while preggo opens up a onesie shapped like a giraffe either.

Cool or uncool to just skip the whole thing?

Dude, seriously?  You stay as far away from that as possible.  If you DO show up for it, I will no longer speak with you.  That is an event for chicks.  Dudes do not participate in those type of things, EVEN if you know the person and they are a friend.

Plus 1 for you....

Men should NEVER voluntarily go to one of those....

the bad part is...sometimes the women in the workplace will throw one of those for men.....

...and you STILL should not go (even if it's for you)

'gro

point taken... you think the lady that sent the invite would have just referenced man law 14.10.6 and not put any men on the email??

Mrs.RT pointed out that there's an immediate conflict of interest since the said baby shower is for someone in HR...the alleged watchdogs of any sort of behavior or situations that could create discomfort in the workplace. MrsRT, shifting into conspiracy theory mode, thinks this could be an attempt by the women holding the party to put the HR people, unbeknownst to them, in a compromised position since they'd be forced to be more lax on future rulings when they get reminded of the baby shower thrown at work for the HR person.

The Rev thinks it's a bad breech of etiquette to put the entire plant on the spot for this.
The invite shold have gone out only to HR, Customer Service, and other friends of HR woman.

'Gro and other males should do blanket boycott.  Baby showers are for women.
If 'Gro and all males simply ignore, you will be fine.

...but there's always that one guy who thinks he'll score for being in 'solidarity' with women (or something to that effect).  Kill him before he poisons the workplace further.

Mrs. RT would not have to worry about one office gaining leverage over another, we have about 30 salaried heads and our HR department has about as much clout as Toby on "the office".

in this case, it's just a bunch of women making an excuse to take a 90min lunch and stuff their faces.

The Rev whole-heartedly agrees with Mrs. RT's assessment.

Don't under estimate the power of the human heart to use and hurt others to advance one's own position over another's.

Even in a small pack, dogs will fight over alpha status.

sometimes when gro posts these situations, he already has his mind made up, but enjoys hearing the groups suggestions. Gro will not be in attendance of said event. Gro will not be thinking of said event when he is at moe's eating a burrito on said event date.  Gro just finds it funny that they would be holding this event at work instead of off site.

Regulator

Gro,

We all knew what your answer would be....but Reg cannot BELIEVE that someone in HR could promote that. Reg always thinks...."hey what if they keep a list of the people that "contributed" to the shower"  What if they hold it against you?  How weird is it going to be when you see the person walking down the hall?

I guess the good thing is that the person will be out of the office for a little while, giving Gro a "buffer".  Maybe she will forget....maybe not.
