Gro,

When Reg is home in Vernon, Reg goes bananas....and it is SO great to see all the losers from HS that are still living in Vernon, in their parents houses or a 1 br apt.

When Reg is confronted with the "where are you now...what do you do?"  he tries to get out of it as easy as possible without talking more than 1 min.

I may go out in MR's home town, but I'll bet she wants to stay home and hang out with the family.  I don't care either way...I just have to decide what delicious gold frothy beverage I am going to be drinking....
Miller light?
miller genuine draft light
Coors light?
michelob ultra
or rolling rock light

I can't take a microbrew for 3 straight days of debauchery...it has to be domestic and light.

What does llpp recommend?

Reg, you know U89's choice.....you can never go wrong with ML!!!  A glass of Cab with the bird and back to ML.

Happy Thanksgiving to all....It's been a fun year boys!!

Here's ZA's guarantee..... "you'll spend less, but HAVE MORE FUN"!!!

Have a great turkey day LLPP!!!

there's nothing wrong with living in your hometown (well, unless it's near utica)

OUCH!!!

The Rev guess it's a good thing he landed in Arizona.

Actually, The Rev would happily live in hometown, Norwich (45 mins. south of Utica on NY Rt 12) if Rev thought he could do something besides skim possum or collect welfare.  (Although those two are not mutually exclusive.)

Objection: Counselor is testifying!

Seriously, does my statement say anything involving Hobart's 10th game and the selection process? I like to see teams play 10 games because it's what's allowed by Division III rules and schools should not short student-athletes the competition and lasting memories in college athletics.
Pat, this is what DIII is all about. Add to your comments when schools pass on post-season invites, whether ECAC or NCAA.

Fall 1993.  Hobart Football forced to turn down invite to ECACs.  First invite in years.
During "announcement time" in Sue Henking's "Psychologies of Religion" class, in which any student was allowed to make any announcement, The Rev mentioned that he thought it would be nice if the football team could participate in the ECACs.  After all, after years of being a poor team, Coach Maxwell had raised the biys up, helped them find some self-respect and made us a winning teams.  Football players hiding behind The Rev nodded their heads.  Then, all of the other students attacked The Rev.  The melee began.  Melee ended with The Rev picking up a desk-chair, arm cocked ready to throw it at some d-bag from Farm House, when the class suddenly settled down.  The Rev mentioned something about not wanting Farm House blood split because it probably smelled like Patchouli.

The Rev HATES patchouli and people who wear it.  It makes hippy-wannabes smell like BO and dirt instead of just BO.

Happy Tanks-giving to all.  LD11 started the morning with some egg nog and Captain Morgan.  Then headed to see Lowell High dismantle Haverhill, while clearing a nice flask of blackberry brandy.  Been drinking delicious wine since.  Had a lot of beer last night, and saw a lot of people from my years of yore.  Now watching my coaching genius of starting Joey Harrington pay off for my LLPPFFL Team.  I am sick of the Emmitt vs. Mario discussion around the dinner table.  ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

Is The Rev the only one in LLPP, inc who thinks he could survive drinking egg nog alone?

The Rev loves the stuff.  Cannot get enough of it.

The Rev enjoys grossing out his siblings by chugging copious amounts (i.e quart to half-gallon) of egg nog at single sittings.

Egg nog is well nice, wot!

As if gorging yourself on turkey and "Beast" Lite wasn't enough to keep your interest this weekend...

Frank Rossi gets a chance to show that he's learned some color commentator skills this weekend, alongside Gordon Mann at the St. John Fisher at Springfield Second Round NCAA Playoff Game at Noon Saturday.  I believe the pregame show is at 11:45am (still getting details), but it should be a great matchup.  Having seen both teams against (and beat) Union this season, I have some insights (and plenty of stats in case the insights suck) ready to go.

This should be interesting (the game and the opportunity).  Tune in to D3Football.com's East Region Internet Radio Broadcast this weekend!

Congratulations to the Hobart Statesman not only for their performance on the field but for the sportsmanship and character they show.

Good luck to the graduating seniors and to those players returning to the field next year!

AUPepBand

Wow, a Liberty League thread dedicated to talk about football? Now this is interesting. Congratulations to the LL for a season of strengthening of the league from bottom to top, particularly the Upstate NY teams. After this season, it appears there will be a dogfight for the LL crown in coming years...Union, Hobart, RPI are all solid programs with UR and SLU on the rise.

Happy Thanksgiving!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

AUPepBand

Would like to see the game in person but given the 1992 AU Pep Bandwagon with 266,000 miles has already made the trip to Springfield this football season, AUPepBand will be happy to listen in....(and perhaps take some notes from the color commentator as AUPepBand has done same for Saxons on occasion, while first choice is with the band).

Well, there is no more farm house, but I won't comment on the od de farmhouse scent that still can be experienced on campus (and I would venture to say on most college campuses). While not farmhouse, Sill House is a theme house this year, Greens. I rememebr the 1993 decision. The school was still on trimesters and this would have placed the trip smack dab in final exams. It was discussed quite a bit, sometimes heated on campus, and this led to the policy that is in place today. I would think if the same situation happened today, post season would happen, as spring post season runs into exams and graduation. The only other time I remember in my tenure that a team did not go, was with the late baseball team, very early 90's. It is my recollection that they received an NCAA bid one year, but had to decline it, also due to exams. In 1992, they did get to play in the NCAA's, however.

My wife loves to drink the 'nog, I settle for just the "warming additive". I don't know if it is the taste or the texture, but I just can't get it down. Yogurt smoothies run a close second. Milkshakes and stouts, I have no problem with.
