I am really rooting hard for Fisher in this game because I hate hate hate Rowan, but you guys need to start walking softly and carrying big sticks.

Tell us how you really feel about Rowan.  How many beatings did you take from them?

Oh, God.  This discussion was not meant to empower Rowan's finest.  Please crawl back into the NJAC hole you came from.

Sorry Francine, I didn't realize that this board was meant just for you.  Shouldn't you still be crying about the Hobart coaching decision to go for two. :'(

Nope, that poll is over.  However, you continue to show your lack of understanding of football.  Maybe we need a poll about that.

ZA - You need to lay off it man. I understand and acknowledge that my comment was taken the wrong way & probably should have been worded differently.

I don't think people have a blatant lack of respect for the good players & teams.

I didn't mean it like that.

Hey, someone wanted to know why we care about good will....That's why!

Yep, I do wish I had.  However, I've contributed the last 12 years in other ways.  What is your contribution lately aside from harassing people in your spare time?

For the benefit of all of the SJF posters that now seem to call LLPP their home, the story on TA is as follows:

-  He caught a badly sprained ankle early in the 3rd qtr of Union's win at Hobart for the LL championship.  Up to that point in the game he had rushed for over 100 yards and was having a big game.

-  The following week vs RPI, TA was clearly less then 100% but still went over 100 yards with a TD while playing on a terrible field.  RPI played TA and Union very tough and clearly TA was banged up even more after the RPI game.

-  He suited up at SJF because he is a tough kid and a great competitor, but he was not even close to 100%.  Throw in the fact that Union had 3 other starters out for the SJF game and it was a very difficult task for Union to beat a very good SJF team on the road.

That is the way it goes with football.   Injuries are part of the game.  That is to take nothing away from SJF who took it to Union and then contained Springfield's potent offense a week later.

Frank I don't see anyone saying Rowan sucks on here. And if they did, then they should be pounded for it, I completely agree.

I would also agree that Fisher is the underdog here simply b/c of Rowans experience & tradition.

Doesn't mean there isn't an argument that Fisher can win this game & that it's really a toss-up.

I've perused the E8 board, and there've been some comments to that effect, especially picking at Rowan's quality of student, etc.  Rowan's fans can talk a lot of smack (and you saw my response to one below), but you need to practice what you preach -- don't make grandiose comments about the school based on a couple badazz posters here.  My comments re: SJF are point toward Robinson's comments, the gameplay I've seen the last two weeks and the overall tenor of the SJF program (fans and players) from the past couple weeks.  Again, I'm rooting for SJF.  I'm just suggesting a way to get others to do the same (never hurts) and ways to motivate your team to avoid a huge letdown Saturday.  SJF carries the East on its shoulders right now for those of us who really want to see new blood in the East like RPI in 2002.  They need to represent as if they belong bearing such a flag.

I agree with the "act like you've been here before" point of view. I think we're in agreement on those types of things (even though we can't seem to find common ground anywhere else 8))

As for the picking at Rowans students or other oddball comments - I guess not everyone shares the aforementioned point of view.

What is that you want? Compare resumes? Played for 12 years. two year capt. all-american hon mention.  Now coaching my sons pop warner team.  Is that good enough for you.

Hey frank, ZA played the game too...Guess that makes ZA more knowledgeble than Charlie Weis and Lou Holtz and a bunch of others who only played some limited highschool ball.

If everyone who played the game understood it completely, waiting for a coaching job would look like the line for american idol.

People who played the game understand the sacrifice, the comradere, the work, commitment to team-mates, etc....doesn't mean they actually understand more than anyone else, how to analyze what is occurring on the field.

Nobody's calling the LL PP their home. It's just fun to talk football with those that are still hanging around on here this time of year.

Amen.  Hence why I do it...I applaud the sacrifice and love to spotlight the student-athlete's selflessness at the D-3 level.  Just because I critique doesn't mean I don't appreciate what these men put forth at all times, including Mark Robinson and Coach Cragg :-)

Frank, I wouldn't worry too much about people like this guy. Just b/c someone played the game doesn't give anyone the right to look down their nose at others who have given time & effort to contribute in other ways. That doesn't even warrant a response really.

Great post ZA.

I'm kinda just noticing that Ithaca posters have sort of subdued their over-exuberance this season moreso than previous seasons.  Actually somewhat refreshing -- I used to put them behind the likes of RowanLB, et al.  Granted, before a Union-Ithaca matchup in the future, I'd expect the claws to come back out :-)
