Plus, Tags feels a Saxon-Statesmen rivalry would be good for both conferences!

The Rev is all for an Alfred-Hobart rivalry.  As said a few days ago, The Rev wants more inter-league play in order to show that LL teams can hold our own against E8 and NJAC.

The Alfred-Hobart series is streaky. Right now, obviously, the Statesmen are streaking (no, this will not conjure up a story about Jim Moretti running down Main Street in his birthday suit...will save that for later) but a few years back an unbeaten Bart team had to go into OT to beat a sub-.500 Saxon squad. Presently, they appear pretty even. Now that they're back on the schedule, need to establish something for this Saxon-Statesmen Skirmish.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Although the string has been retired, TGP's 2 cents on Coach Cragg's call to go for 2 in the Rowan game is this:

Anyone who played for Cragg or has followed Bart since he's taken over as HC should not be surprised in the least he went for it.  Whether you agree with the philosophy or not, it's always been his M.O. to go for the win.

Going for 2 in the Rowan game reminded of the 96 RPI game at the Boz when Nico K caught a low Greg H pass for the 2 pt conversion for the win.  Cragg never plays for a tie.

With all due respect, there's a big difference between 1996 and 2006.  It's called overtime with duel possessions.  I'm doubting the 1996 game was a playoff game (if memory serves), so there was no overtime in that game.  Tough to draw the comparison, in my honest opinion.

Overtime was put in for the 1996 season.

TGP thought that 96 game went into OT......just checked - it did.

28-28 at end of regulation, RPI scores first 35-28, Bart scores then goes for 2 to win 36-35.

As for Alfred-Hobart, TGP also thought we inaugurated the "Ho-Fred" Cup to the winner of the series?!?!

MTV is like a cancer of the mind, body, and spirit to the uneducated, unmotivated souls who channel surf all day long. I say it should be banned like Asbestos.
Taste It

This may be the best thing a cortland poster has said EVER.  Very well put, xreddragon.

'gro

blah... gro must be impervious to the mind corrupting powers that spew out of MTV central. Gro can watch cribs without going out and buying things he can't afford the next day.

Regulator

You guys remember the show "Blind Date" right?

In college we used to watch that show religiously and it wasn't for the tips....it was to laugh at all the amature mistakes and uncomfortable moments that you would never let happen.  Well, MTV has filled that void in Regs life....I can laugh and make fun of people on the shows. (even though MR continuously reminds me that "they can't here you yelling at them through the TV")

Loosen up guys.....its all a joke....you can laugh.

oxbacker

FYI- Former RPI player was spotted on MTV's  Parental Control...... :o    first the PIR then this..... What is this Engineer goes to hollywood?

It was in that game the Frenchy (may he rest in peace) fell on top of AJ deeply cementing him in the bozwell mud.  if you looked at eye level with the field i bet you could not see AJ's body.  That was a great game though....
On the run from johny law...aint no trip to clevland

'gro

there was an RPI kid on survivor a few years back, he lived across the hall from gro freshman year (in hall hall of course).

Ah yes.  TGP's old teammate Frenchy.  Great guy and one responsible for cementing many opponents into the mud at the Boz.

Speaking of rivalries - LA Times' Sports section has an article today about the trophy from the first ever Harvard-Yale Crew race having an (outrageous) asking price of $30 MM from the schmoe who happened to come across the trophy (which are wooden oars) in a property they bought in New England.

If any members of the LLPP owned, let's say, the Dutchman's Shoes (or if you are an E8 guy - the Cortaca Jug), what would your asking price be?

Please discuss amongst yourselves.....

bigdvs

Dutchmen Shoes

Starting Bid: $100,000,000,000.00

BuyItNow!! for only: $90,000,000,000,000,000,000.00

Seems about right.
The only true currency in this bankrupt world... is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.

I once paid $30 on Ebay for a 1930's Union College game program.  As for the shoes, I'll go along with the asking price set by bigdvs.
