Tags has received a $25 dollar gift card to Wegman's (Grocery Store).

In Geneva, NY, a gift card to Wegman's would be a HOT bonus.

Why, back in the early 90's when the Geneva Wegman's was brand-spanking-new, it was quite the hangout.

Reminds JT of the 1.8% raise his boss tried to give him at UPS back in the day.  JT forced the company to recind the raise.  First, JT was doing it on principal, but then he also found out that it would cost JT money in higher taxes.  JT left two months later for a better job.

The Rev got the highest raise one year at an airport: 4%.
After taxes, mandatory AZ retirement fund, etc. etc.,  Rev ended up with 11 cents more per bi-weekly paycheck!

That's a whopping $2.86 per YEAR!!!

Can you believe that ****?  The Rev started looking for a new job ASAP.

I'm just north of Houston in a town called The Woodlands. It's a nice area – about as much like Houston as Princeton is like Trenton. Plenty of golf ... 74° today and 80° over the weekend. I have my tix for the Texas Bowl already, which is funny because I never went to a Rutgers game in NJ. Three things I'm missing already – DIII athletics is non-existent in this neck of the woods ... the local wine shop is limited in their recommendations. Instead of pointing out wines which are given the thumbs up by the likes of Robert Parker or the Wine Spectator, you get "90 points, rated yummy by the Texas Rodeo". And most importantly ... good pizza  does not exist here. They consider the chain Bros. Pizza to be the best in Texas. I called for a delivery on Wed. and they told me it would take over 90 minutes. I finally tried some yesterday and it tasted like something they were serving in the cafeteria at Trenton State in 1979! A greasy, semi-congealed mess. They wait in line for this stuff down here!

Phil,

What is this word "I" you seem to use so much?

The Rev is baffled.

ADDENDUM: The Rev did not see later post in which Phil uses proper 3d person until after writing this.

By the way, The Rev feels for you...good pizza is tough to come by in Arizona.
As for wine recommendations, one can probably get some good stuff around here because of all the people in Scottsdale and Chandler who think they have class. But this is an area where people think Heineken is a fancy micro brew import...that they can buy at Safeway.

Re: Pizza

Finding pizza in the south is like trying to find ribs in the north.  People here are still debating Pizza Hut vs. Dominos vs. Papa Johns.   But there is hope. Gro has a theory that might be worth looking into.  It is gro's belief that where there are hippies there is good pizza.  Chattanooga has a suprisingly high amount of hippies (haha "high").  There is some good pizza down here.  Mellow Mushroom is a bar/restaurant chain that makes decent pizza and by the name, you can tell who runs the place.

Save the hippies, save the pizza.

Can someone explain to RT the concept of why some of these pro athletes feel they must portray some kind of gangster/thug image? This guy has the world by the ballz....multi-million dollar contract, the fame and perks that come with being a pro athlete, etc....and he feels the need to stay on the radar of the local constubalaries? Who needs all these handguns, especially 'assault-style' weaponry? And his friend is his 'bodyguard'?? How many other NFL lineman have 'bodyguards'?? By virtue of the fact that this guy is  well over 6' and 300lbs, it begs the question "why does he need a bodyguard"?

RT is amazed that the NFL (or any sports league) gives these guys such latitude to behave this way. If RT was arrested on felony 'cannabis' charges (and since win did "cannabis" replace pot or marijuana as the hip way to refer to the dope in the news??) with unregistered gun posession thrown in for good measure, it'd be a safe bet that RT would be circulating his resume amongst the friends of the LL looking for a new job.

This guy needs to just stop pretending to be a football player and move to Brooklyn and become the next Notorius BIG.

this editorial has been brought to you by RT and doesn't necessarily inply the beliefs of LLPP,Inc or D3football.com

watching the stagg and it's funny because the announces have no idea about both teams except what's on their summary sheets. So, not knowing anything about mount union their summary is very impressive and these 2 can not stop talking about it.

No kidding.

BTW - what to you think the over/under is on the color commentator?  I am guessing 75.  Hopefully his dentures won't fall out during the broadcast.

Notes on the Stagg Bowl thus far:

1.  I do NOT play Right Tackle for Mount Union.  It's a LD11 name thief.

2.  Did anyone see Whitewater's punt returner fair catch with no one within 30 yards of him?  Just the way that dude carries himself I want to punch him in the face.

3.  Mt Union's starting QB looks like he had himself a day on the free Buffet last night.

4.  Not that I have a problem with how she's doing, but why do they always assign women commentators to d3 games?  Is it like 'Well, it's just d3.  Just a step above women's football.'

5.  Mount Union doesn't look as good as years past.

PBR...

ld, pbr thought the same thing about union but now pbr is wandering if uww is not intimidated by them and know what to expect off/def wise since playing them last year...uww looks very confident and ready to get in  muc's grill....

hey did you hear that the UWW coach is retiring after this game?   yeah about 100 times already.

Senor RedTackle

RT has the picture on and listening to Pat and Keith's feed from D3.....the D3 crew is much better than the ESPN crew.

Senor RedTackle

does anyone have the stats on the RT for MUC?...#75? That kid is D1-A size......which leads RT to wonder what is wrong with the kid if he has that kind of size and couldn't get a sniff at one of the 5 or so DI-A teams in the state...

HAHA!  I was just gonna mention that.  They remind us after every single play!  He's retiring and he looks GLORIOUS!!!

Seriously, he looks like a pissed off dude.
