I don't think moving from Hartford will be a huge difference.  Hartford is a sh!thole.  And let's all be honest, the traffic to and from Albany in reality is nothing.  its bad for upstate NY, but compared to real cities, it's not too bad.  I would look into Clifton park or Latham, but Saratoga is definitely the better spot.  Race Track aside, Toga has more bars, restaurants, and other places to have at your disposal,  and you have a WAY bigger chance in seeing purple haired combat boot wearing lesbians.

Careful.  RPI has a campus in Hartford.

Can the LLPP please provide input on the pro's and con's of living in the Albany area?

One of TGP's classmates is considering a relo from the Hahtfud, CT to Albany, NY area for a job.

Reg would never advise anyone to move to upstate NY for a job, however, if he had to pick an area there to move to, it would be Albany.  medium city, pretty stable, decent business, etc.

Reg sez "The closer he moves to albany, the better."  The commute to Saratoga is definately not worth the 2 months of debauchery that the race track brings in.  Does he own or rent in CT?

Reg - To answer your question - he rents - which is part of the decision to move since his lease comes up in Feb.

That payday is recalculous!

Those Bama boosters are clearly desperate to have a Bear Bryant renaissance?  It certainly is possible to have a return to glory with the right coach (see PC and USC), but $32MM GUARANTEED?!?!

Wow.

Today's Bart fun fact:

The movie Crank (currently featured as today's banner ad on D3Fb.com) was written and directed by Hobart alum (and former WR on the Bart FB team) Mark Neveldine.

Anyone else paying attention to the NBA standings this season?  Here's the Atlantic Division in a nutshell:

Toronto 13 18 .419 (--)
New Jersey 13 18 .419 (--)
New York 13 21 .382 (1 ½)
Boston 11 19 .367 (1 ½)
Philadelphia 9 22 .290 (4)

Yep, one of those quality teams will be in the playoffs in a mere four months.  Should be an exciting series, whomever they play.  Something akin to the MPC Computers Bowl in Boise, Idaho.

'gro

let's go knicks!!!

Vince Young wins rookie of the year... Gro was pulling for Maurice Jones-Drew. Maybe its because he had him on his fantasy team, but the little guy is good. Put up 2200 total yards and 16 TD's.

Hopefully it's the 76'ers...RT is a lifelong fan since his childhood when Dr.J, Darryl Dawkins, Mo Cheeks, and Bobby Jones ruled the court. When RT thinks about it, the glory years, in his opinion, of the NBA was the early 80's....remember those matchups of the Celtics, Sixer, Bucks, and Hawks in the east? It was awesome...

JT wasn't aware the NBA still existed.  JT thought it folded when Jordan retired.

TGP also attempts to ignore the existence of the NBA, but it is difficult to do so out here in Los Angeles.

At least the Clips have become a better team and are now giving the Lakers (who have one of the most obnoxious fan bases TGP has ever seen) a good run for their money here in La La Land.

NEWS FLASH!
Bart has (FINALLY) managed to fill out a 10 game regular season schedule (of course, Pat & Co probably reported on this months ago, TGP just noticed the change to Bart's 2007 schedule).

Looks like Bart filled the open date with Carnegie Mellon from the UAA (not to be confused with the pre-LL UCAA).

Although this is a nice ad to the schedule (CMU was 11-1 last season), TGP still wonders why Bart couldn't have found ways to get an E8 team like IC or SJF back on the calendar?

We've now got 3 teams from PA on the 2007 slate (Game 1 @ Dickinson, Game 2 vs. CMU @ Bart, and Game 5 @ Susquehanna).  That's a lot of highway miles to log when there are several teams within an hour from Geneva.

If the Knicks win the Atlantic Division with a sub-.500 record and get knocked out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, does Isaiah keep his job?
