ND just fell apart last night. The turning point it this game was when LSU had the ball stripped and ND recovered but then the ref reversed the call.  By the way anytime you can squeeze a football and see it dent you have established possesion.   I cant believe they reversed it.  What the Eff are these replay refs looking at ?  But you can see from that point on ND had no answer.

I agreed with the reversal.  Was at the gym, granted, but I saw a fair number of replays to say that the ball was still moving under his arm.  He never could make a "football move" with the ball in bounds.  The best perspective shot came from up the sideline, where you could clearly see the ball never stopped moving under his arm.  They took a lot of time to review that play (about 4 minutes) -- and they didn't rule until after Fox showed the angle of which I'm speaking.  So, I'm guessing that they were using that angle in making the final judgment.

Otherwise, I think that play and the kick fake later in the drive were really a combination in terms of dismantling the Irish.  A side note:  only two of the nine bowl games ND has lost were by less than 10 points.  Something about bowl games and ND that just are problematic since 1994.

nd was exposed they were overrated all year uncle chuck/brady hoopla got way out of control in saying they were the greatest thing since gro/king...

TGP got to see ND live and in person at the LA Coliseum about 6 weeks back.  They were not a BCS quality team then, and obviously weren't last night.

TGP doesn't think Quinn will be a good NFL QB either.  After being forced into a few starts early for some crappy team, BQ will end up as a career clipboarder.

Nice article in Garnet's local paper on the Arcidiacono family.

Loved it, except for the part where the writer thinks TA led Hofstra to the Division III Playoffs (the "Flying Dutchmen").  Well deserved piece, however.  As always, continued success to TA and his family.

2 years with weiss should help BQ in the NFL (except for the raiders of course). He'll probably end up being the next David Carr, Joey Harrington, or JP Losman.

Re: TA's article
nice article, they called union the "flying dutchmen". Haha.  And his dad "bought" him a house? whats up with that?

prob b/c the house cost $100K or less.

with a 6% interest rate with 0 down you are looking at less than $600 mo payment.

fwiw....lots o' rumors of huizenga (owner of the 'phins) is pursuing uncle chuck at nd to coach the phins....not really sure why he wants another college coach but more than one source hearing behind the scenes he is pursuing him....

can't see weis ditching nd yet.  he has wonder boy clausen on the way and nd hasn't exactly achieved at the level the boosters would have hoped.  sure they have had some winning seasons, but TGP doesn't think weis would ditch nd after going 0 fer in the BCS bowls.

pbr agrees tgp but that being said cash is king and party on wayne... has got a ton of it....of course having the most points scored against any nd team in their bowl history doesnt help....pbr cant see chuckie ducking out if he does he is as bad as saban

Someone name me the last college coach who has excelled in the NFL as a coach within two seasons of NFL coaching.  Maybe I'm missing someone here, but none come to mind.

frank cant think of any j.j. down in dallas is about as close as pbr comes to the time frame as pbr thinks it was his 4th yr. they really excelled after all those draft picks for herschel

Charlie "Grimmace" Weiss has what, 8 years left on his contract? He's going to be there for a while.  Even if things stay bad (bad meaning no NC) ND would probably wait and buy out the last 2-3 years.

Yeah...that and even when spending that much, you figure the cost of a student housing at Union is probably well over $4000.....you put a couple guys in the house, have them cut you a check each month and you are well ahead of the mortgage payment....when the kid is done, just sell the place and make a few bucks or rent it out as student housing to some guys on the team..  It's win win

Why didn't poppa Reg hook reg and his bro's up back in 19 naughty 9?

EDIT: Not that there was anything wrong with Colvin Circle or the crib on 11th skreet. Looking back it's amazing what RPI charged for those townhouses.
RPI 4BR Townhouse - $4800? each student
11th skreet 3BR apt - $825 total... with utilities!!
