yeah - word is more and more parents have been going this route esp in rural and suburban areas where home prices are relatively low with rates in the 5-7% range.

great for the kid, better for m&d since they can swing it as a income prop with tax benes.  can even make money off the deal once jr is out of college to recoup $ spent on tuition.

interesting counterpunch to the play-off system - albeit the author is well known to go against the grain on everything.

hence the reason why tgp's hopes that when both of tgp's little p's are ready to go away to school it will be back east in towns in the middle of no-where like geneva!

Nobody said we couldn't retain some form of the current Bowl system and integrate it into the playoffs.  Let's face it, the BCS this year "created" a new "bowl" for the championship game, while retaining the other four bowls.  While I'm happy it benefitted Boise State, it makes me realize that a little more manufacturing would allow for a makeshift playoff system with 8 or 16 teams.  Heck, 24 teams with 8 first-round byes would even work.  Gosh, that's a whole 3, 4 or 5 extra weeks...OH, WAIT!  Ohio State hasn't taken a snap for eight weeks by the time they kick off next week.  I think you can see where I'm going with this, so I'm not gonna beat a dead horse any further.

SHOCKER ...NOT!!
CLEVELAND, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- An analysis by Cleveland-based Universal Medical Systems, Inc., has found that a home run ball hit by Mark McGwire contained a synthetic rubber ring.
Using computed tomography, UMS found that McGwire's 70th home run ball from his 1998 record-breaking season contained the rubber ring not allowed by official Major League Baseball specifications and an enlarged rubber core.
CT scans of several other baseballs from 1998 found that many of them had
various shapes and sizes of enlarged cores, the company said.
League specifications state "the pill of the baseball shall consist of a
compressed cork sphere surrounded by one layer of black rubber and one layer of
red rubber," with no mention of the synthetic ring found in McGwire's ball.
"Examining the CT images of Mark McGwire's 70th home run ball one can clearly
see the synthetic ring around the core -- or 'pill' -- of the baseball," said
David Zavagno, president of Universal Medical Systems. "While Mark McGuire may
or may not have used illegal steroids, the evidence shows his ball -- under the
governing body of the League -- was juiced."

pbr agrees tgp but that being said cash is king and party on wayne... has got a ton of it....of course having the most points scored against any nd team in their bowl history doesnt help....pbr cant see chuckie ducking out if he does he is as bad as saban

Someone name me the last college coach who has excelled in the NFL as a coach within two seasons of NFL coaching.  Maybe I'm missing someone here, but none come to mind.

Bobby Ross did ok his first few years in the league after leaving Georgia Tech.

As a life long phins fan, KS thinks they should hire the guy they should have kept two years ago, Jim Bates.  He had them playing better and the players liked him.  KS thinks he should be given the shot.

edited because KS realized he did not post in the third person on the way home from work.

LD11-
I don't know how to tell you this, so Reg is just going to just come out and say it.  The OC is going to be taken off the air.  I am very sorry you have to hear this from me, however, since we have had our ups and downs, I figure it best come from me rather than RS81.

If you need someone to talk to Reg and the rest of the LLPP is here for moral support.

Didn't Denny Green have some very good seasons (blew the NFC championship w/ Randall at QB) at Minnesota shortly after leaving Stanford? And when Dick Vermeil left UCLA, didn't he have the Eagles in the Super Bowl within 3 seasons?
