btw the buckeyes are getting ready to open a giant size can of WHOOOP Arse on the gators!!!!! GO BIG TEN!!!

Big10 was overrated all season.  USC would have smoked OSU like they did UofM.  You could tell in the UofM game that OSU's D was terrible - UofF just took what they saw on film and exploited it.

Just as well - further proof the BCS is completely flawed and what we've got in D3 is the best way to crown a true national champ.

TGP hopes that the AP gives Boise State their national title just for the heck of it!

yea the big 10 was a slow conference.  You saw in the UCLA/Fla St, Fla-Ohio St, LSU-ND that the southern schools had better athletes and the other teams defenses looked like crap and didnt have the speed to make plays.

A playoff system would give tougher teams more of an advantage because of games every week.

regardless Im disgusted with this season of college football and last nights game.

biggest problem was a 51 day layoff for osu they really lost their edge...still think that UF probably would of won but it would of been a much better of a game...ncaa needs to step in 51 days between games is rediculous...also remember psu(big ten) played tenn (sec team) and psu had them more than covered speed wise and probably should of crushed them by much more psu's athletes were much better than tenn's

I actually think the SEC is overatted in football every year, especially Auburn, Tennessee and Alabama (Nebraska has a long way to go now too)

What it came down to in last nights game was that Ohio Sts linebackers and d-backs werent athletic enough to get off blocks and make tackles or slow down florida players who were better athletes.

TGP agrees with that.  Since TGP's in-laws live in the south, TGP always hears about how great the SEC is year in and year out.

Still, pretty impressive run for FLA winning back to back natty titles in BB and FB.

Must be because of the excellent leadership from Hobart grad (and FLA AD) Jeremy Foley ;)

My confidence on Urban springing to the NFL comes from his exit from Utah.  He could've done the Schiano thing and stayed for a couple more years, taking a fat contract jump and try to build a dynasty after the Fiesta Bowl win a few years back.  Instead, he parlayed it.  His behavior during the "Michigan still #2" flap also shows me he's a bit of an opportunist.  Chris Leak is done...and next year might be a little off compared to this year, like when Alex Smith was graduating from Utah after the Fiesta Bowl win...I just feel some guys have this climbing mentality and don't necessarily bleed the colors of their schools.

beautiful pbr is reading where ginn's own teammates took him out in the celebration in the end zone after he ran back the kick!!!

Gro thinks the Lou Holtz is a good studio guy. Smart, funny, speaks his mind, and has the coaching experience to comment on the college game.... but damn lou, you sound like you're eating 17 starbursts of various flavors!

p.s. gro believes that when a coach has an opportunity to run a successful college program, he should STAY PUT. The NFL is designed for parity (free agency, salary cap) and head coaches have about 3-4 years to win it all or get the hook. College game, you might end up at some no name bowl, but then you pull off a top 10 recruiting class and everyone's on your junk again.

Amen.  Exactly the reason why Carroll should tell Huizenga "thanks, but no thanks!"

He sounds like Sylvester the Cat.  And after reading "Under the Tarnished Dome", one realizes what a dirtbag Holtz was as a coach.  With the exception of South Carolina he left every school saddled with NCAA sanctions:  Arkansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame.  He also turned a blind eye to steriod abuse in his programs.

Last week, while the debate raged on whether Saban should leave Miami, Holtz opined on ESPN that he still regrets leaving as head coach of the Jets.  "You don't have to worry about academics, you just have to worry about football."

As Jet head coach, he was trying to run the option with a gimpy Joe Namath. Does he even know any other offensive system?
