PBR...

pbr saw that gro....that d.a. should be strung up by his nutz....what an injustice....to admit the sentence is too long and not do anything about it is a disgrace....JT a reminder for you that pbr saw this just hit the news wires....    TRENTON, N.J.  - New Jersey has warned squirrel hunters near a toxic waste dump about consuming the critters because they could be contaminated with lead.
It is the first time the state has cautioned Ringwood area residents not to eat the squirrels....    A lead-contaminated squirrel was found in the area two months ago, prompting the agency, along with the state Department of Environmental Protection, to send out letters advising that adults eat squirrel no more than twice a week and even less for children and pregnant women.     Residents and many environmental activists believe the lead comes from toxic waste, including paint sludge, dumped in the area by the Ford Motor Co. during the 1960s and early 1970s, from its now-closed car manufacturing plant in Mahwah. **** In short take the squirrel stew off the menu tonight....

That is a bum rap. But is it a coincidence now that his attorney's name is "B.J."?

These people are the Ramapough Mountain Indians of the Ramapo Lenape Nation or commonly referred to as the "Jackson Whites" which is slang Jacks (freed slaves) Whites (Dutch).  They are a mix of native Indian, African American (former slaves), and Dutch.  Today most have Dutch sirnames.

All the illegal dumping has poisoned much of their land, water, and various wild food supply (turtles, rabbit, squirrel, fish, deer etc).  Ford used to dump paint sludge there, much of it handled by mafia connected waste haulers.  Much of it was dumped into abandoned mines in the mountains, and its has seeped out.  Most residents are poor and many have been afflicted with strange cancers.  Truely sad.

Clean ups have been attempted by Ford, but it has always been half assed attempts.  Last JT heard is that the State of NJ is taking over the clean up and suing Ford.

Laws in the South have always been screwy.  Hope the kid gets a break soon.

TGP thought this was interesting (at least for 'Bart fans).  Apparently Bart had an online poll to determine the offensive and defensive plays of the year.

The Mizro to Martin TD late in the NCAA 1st rd (Rowan) game (right b/f the much debated 2pt conversion) was picked as the offensive POY.  The defensive POY poll results will come out next week.

Side note - interesting that Bart can get over 1,000 Bart fb fans/alums/etc to vote online and yet only TGP and The Rt Rev are primary Bart reps on the LLPP.......

Congratulations!

As one who has been admitted to practice law in the Empire State, ;D but who has never in fact practiced there, I extend my hearty cogratulations to LawyerGro! ;D

Having lived in Bergen County, NJ, we heard all about the Jackson Whites, and frankly were always a little afraid of the whole concept. i think it was a Deliverance thing.   :o

Yea those southern laws are a bit steep.  I like the old Mass laws that were onced reviewed here on LLPP...........

http://www.mass.gov/legis/laws/mgl/272-18.htm

But seriously, what kind of attorney did he have off the bat?  Did he think he could beat the molestation charge?  Thats a no-brainer.  He should have 100% taken the plea bargin and dealt with the other stuff later.  That calls for a pardon.

Heading back to football for a minute...

Was just looking at Union's 2007 schedule, and it's an interesting one.  Yes, it's much like the last couple years, but I think it's an appropriate schedule for a team experiencing a "rebuilding year" like the Dutchmen likely will be.  Here's my commentary next to each game:

11/3/2007 Hobart -- For three straight years, this game has had some sort of Liberty League Championship implications hanging over it...will it be four in a row?  My gut says yes, but only for one of the teams.  Hobart tends to front-load its Liberty League schedule in a way similar to Union -- if it can beat RPI, it should have no trouble maintaining a something-and-oh or something-and-one record coming into this game.  However, both teams are missing key parts, assuming Mizro doesn't come back for his 18th season of eligibility next year (couldn't resist).  This will be a close game, and currently, I'd say Hobart comes in as a slight favorite...with a good chance of an upset.

Interesting projections from Mr. Rossi regarding Union's 07-08 season.   Side Line Sally wonders what Mr. Rossi meant by "Mizro's 18th season of eligibility next year (couldn't resist)" ????

come on.....stuff happens everywhere in the country.  Look at statistics, NYC is the safest big city in the country.  Violent crimes have gone down across the board for the past 5-6 years.

In the early days of Rev's residence in Arizona, he used to go to Mass on 7th Street and Baseline.  For those of you unfamiliar with Phoenix, this area is the heart of the barrio.  The Rev had to drive down some ugly streets and started packing a 9mm on Sunday mornings.

The area has gentrified drastically over the past couple years, so it's not as bad as it used to be.  but every so often, you can sit in listen to the priest, Introibo ad altari Dei... BANG BANG BANG followed a few minutes later by sirens.  But we're all comfy inside our walled-in Church compound with nothing to harm us but a little too much incense and old ladies with heavy handbags.

By the way, our walled in compound is nothing like Waco.  Just for clarification.

The Rev could regale LLPP with stories of living in Da Bronx, but will ass for the evening because The Rev must get his beauty sleep for a lovely day confiscating--ahem! accepting 'voluntarily abandoned'--liquids, creams, gels, pastes, etc.

I've been calling Union games for 12 seasons...and I swear Mizro has been under center for Hobart for all of them :-)
