Grad says Colts 32-25 as he has 5&2 in the pool.  Peyton Manning goes to Disney World & Budweiser yet again comes up with the best commercial

JT

JT is taking the Colts 31-23.  Da Bears D will play a lot of Cover 2, which is how JT thinks they'll play it to prevent the deep ball.  The middle of the field will be open. This means the game will be up to da Bears LB's to punish Addai, Clark, Wayne, and Harrison on the short routes and running game.

Can the da Bears front four get pressure w/o a lot of blitzing?  JT doesn't think so.  Look for Clark and Addai to have a good game.

JT's only concern is if da Bears control the ball on offense and keep Manning off the field (ala Giants vs. Bills 1991).

Should be a good one... hope its still in doubt by the 4th Qtr.

Tally so far -

Da Bearssss - TGP, PBR, Reg
Da Coltsssss - Gro, Supe57, ICGrad, JT, Real, TDT

TGP thinks that JT must have read Len P's article on ESPN today discussing the Cover 2.

Nah... JT observed that the Ravens were in Cover 2 a lot against the Colts. Held them to FG's.  Limit big plays, tighten up in the redzone, and ball control is the best path to victory for da Bears.

JT mentioned it to his Dad two weeks ago.  Then JT observed major sports coverage of these themes.

JT's smart but no genius.  He sees a lot of football up close being on the sidelines during DIII games.  Picking up coverages, and predicting plays has become a game in itself for JT.  Predicting a play/blitz can put JT in the right position to get an awesome shot.

TGP thinks that Favre probably has a couple of years left in the tank.  Sure, he's 37, throws more INTs than TDs, but the reality is, he's still probably better than Aaron Rodgers.  Also, the NFC North (and pretty much most of the NFC) sucks.  Don't forget in Wk 17, with an 8-8 finish the Pack STILL COULD HAVE MADE THE PLAYOFFS!!!

TGP's best guess is that Favre wants to make one last playoff run - even if it's a one and done just so he can go out bringing the Pack back to a "playoff caliber" team again.

Farve still needs a few TD passes to catch Dan Man-arino.  That means one more good year for Donald Driver in fantasy football.

AR shouldn't be too pissed.  Favre's return gives him more time to recover from his broken foot (and the surgery) and put him in a great position to start in the 4th season of his NFL (worked out pretty well for Tony Romo, well at least until the playoffs) career.

Also, TGP can't feel too bad for a guy who is 24 has no pressure to start and can just sit back and enjoy the fact he agreed to a reported five-year, $7.7 million deal that included $5.4 million in guaranteed money and could pay him as much as $24.5 million if all the incentives and escalators are met.

realistic

True...

Still gotta be hard sittin back and watchin though.  Esp true on the foot though, I had forgotten about that.

labart96

TGP doesn't doubt AR is a competitor.  If anything it should motivate him to attempt to beat out Favre in camp.

BC08 will predict that Peyton wins the big one, beating Da Bears II 27-20.
