Random Flashback...

Gro is back home for Christmas. Kicks it old school and crashes at a friends house. Brother gro comes to pick up my carcass the next morning. Gro, brother, and brother's GF head to get breakfast at a diner (side note, brother's GF is like 120 lbs and can THROW DOWN at the dinner table, I'm not even mad, it's amazing. I bet she could eat a whole wheel of cheese).

Well the car ride to the diner didn't treat gro well and he's spining out of control at the booth. Gro decided to hit the bathroom and spread holiday cheer all over the bowl. About halfway though my conference call with Dinosaurs, Inc. Gro hears a knock on the door.  Gro tells the knock to hold on.  Another knock. Gro can't operate under this kind of pressure so he cleans up and opens the door... standing there is this 4-5 year old Asian kid and at the moment all gro could think of was the movie "the grudge" and if you've seen that movie then you know you don't want to mess with that kid.

that was a weird flashback.

TDT-
Reg didn't buy another desk for MR even though she suggested getting me a new desk 3 times this W/E.  Whats up with dat?

RE: V-day-  If Reg hears about ANYONE from the LLPP gets engaged on this day, Reg will come after them with a baseball bat.  You will be stripped of all posting rights and you must turn in your man card, car and you must buy a VW bug immediately.  Reg usually takes MR the night before V-day...the restaurants are usually busy, but not amature hour busy...they are busy with people like Reg who wouldn't want to be caught anywhere near the people on V-day smooching in the booth next to him.  Plus the food is wawy better since they arent so rushed.  Ruths Chris....get the filet ready!!!

JT nabbed the proflowers deal last week.  Two dz roses, free vase, and choc truffles for $39.99 plus ship.   Take out at home on Wednesday, and the real dinner at her favorite French place on Friday.   JT did not get engaged on a holiday or birthday.

Negative karma for this come on. JT knows that Valentine's Day is made up holiday by Hallmark. But JT can't get away with not doing anything.  The above is a decent compromise followed by JT getting what he wants  ;D.  Anyway the French place makes the best fries JT's ever tasted plus it's BYOB.

While Reg didn't knock your karma....he was working on a post about the 2 dozen roses...2 dozen...?!?!  I understand the deal, however, if you were thinking like Reg, you would have pawned off at least a dozen to a friend or fellow LLPPer.  Of course, if you can break them into 4 sets of 3 they are worth much more.....

OR.....

Since this restaurant is a BYOB place (never heard of that before), you could bring roses and out-sell the other guy on the street selling roses for $3.50 each.....Genious!!!

REG: Isn't it possible that Mr. Lewwwwwwwdogg11 could be planning to pop the question on Wednesday at a candlelight dinner on the beach in Wilmington??  Hence explaining his prolonged absence from the LLPP, Inc.

RE: Ruths Chris

Well we are getting one of these swanky joints in Naples.  Can the LLPP get TDT a brief review of their experiences at said establishment?

JT: $50+ for a little play on V-day??  Can't you get it for FREE the other 363 days of the year (bday and v-day)?  Also, I am with REG please elaborate on this French style BYOB concept.  Is this common in France?  Now TDT hates the French so he wouldn't be caught dead frequenting such a joint, but the concept has piqued my interest...

KS knows of plenty of Eye-talian places that are BYOB in the NY metro area but no french places, besides who wants to eat french surf and turf, Horse and Snails.

TDT-
I have no idea what LD11's deal is....LD, where are you?  Why no love for the LLPP?
RE: Ruths Chris...really swanky place....steaks are very very good.  The place will run you at least $120 bucks for you and a date.  Reg isn't claiming that the steak is better than some Kansas City place...but it is the best steak you will see around here.  Reg recommends the place for a real nice meal...but man there are some real snobby people there.  Listen dood, don't look at me like some hood rat because I'm not wearing a navy sport coat and tie.  I will dump your cabernay over your head and eat your chocolate dessert.

RE: Vday- this year Reg thinks he hit a home run with a new celly for MR.  She has been complaining for like 6 months about how she hates her phone...blau blau blau....get me a cool phone like you have....blau blau.

RE: BYOB- I don't understand this.....how do you bring your own beer into a restaurant?  Do you have like a mini cooler or something?....do you ask them to hold it in a frige?....Do  you have to pay them a convenience fee to serve it to you?  Reg may start bringing wine into places....that EASILY adds $60 bucks to the bill when MR controlls the wine list!

KS- Reg had a bite of horse in Italy...it was pretty good.

PBR...

pbr has a slam dunk this v day....mpbr wants just 1 thing....(must be start of mid life crisis...) she wants a tatt from a famous parlor 10 mins from our house....she wants some swanky design(not my and her name etc...) so pbr already has the gift certificate in hand and is ready to roll when she is so pbr can witness this whole thing...

A lot of places that do byob are either new (haven't received a Liquor License yet) or couldn't get one at all.  Its nice if you know it beforehand, because (as was said) booze and wine adds up on the bill real fast.  However, sitting down and going to order a drink and then being told the place has no license sucks.

Two years ago I went to a batchelor party in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.  I was bitching the whole way up since we all lived in Tampa, home of the world famous Mons Venus strip club.  We get to Myrtle Beach and then the Best Man fills everyone in on the secret.  Strip Clubs are BYOB and, since they ain't serve booze, don't close at last call either.  We were in that joint until like 5am three nights in a row.

A dozen will usually go for either $29.99 or $39.99.  Pro flowers always has specials.  If you listen to radio O&A, ESPN, or other morning shows, political talk shows they give out codes with the commercial... ie put Opie or Mike and Mike in the coupon box and receive a second dozen, clear vase, and sm box of truffles free.  This happens every year.  Just gotta keep your ears open two weeks leading up to V'day.  Next year JT will post the V'day special for the LLPP.

There is a town called Montclair (where Montclair St is located) that has a nice main drag with any kind of restaurant you can think of (except good BBQ).  Its a few towns over from us.  FMJT is a great cook.  JT eats a lot of fine food.  We try a lot of different food and restaurants.

Most of Montclair's restaurants on the strip don't have liquor licenses.  Not sure why.  Also, most chefs are "French trained" in school.  They may specialize in other cuisines.  Its kinda of like if you can do French everything else is easier.

The guy who runs the joint is American.  Plus his wife, the hostess is smoking hot. You don't have to get too funky to enjoy yourself.  Although JT loves escargot.  Muscles, Beef dishes, fish, chicken.  No stomachs or intestines or crap like that. We bring a couple bottles of wine and/or champagne, and JT is out the door with tip for about $80-100.  Best fries you ever had for $6.95.  Great chocolate soufflĂ©.
