War Eagle, Reverend!   ;)

The Ludwig von Mises Institute?  From the loveliest town on the plain!  On the Liberty League board?

That one post is bringing more diversity to the board than most of these LL posters heard in 8 semesters of LL curricula!

Did you play any golf?  Enjoy the fine Southern pulchritude exhibited at Toomer's Corners?  Take a casual stroll down Gay Street?  Consume your annual portion of 'sweet tea'?  Eat some pizza at the Mellow Mushroom? :)

The Rev went to J & M's to buy an Auburn sweatshirt and found himself surrounded by a bunch of folks who couldn't believe someone would come all the way to Alabama for "A Day."  I didn't have the heart to tell them the truth.  I just said, "Yeah...I haven't been here in a few years, but I had to make it this yer.  I love this place."
There wasn't a dry eye in the entire souvenier section.

LOL!  I guess you saw the calendar in J & M's noting how many days it was until the bama game!

The Rev did not play golf.  Many moons ago, The Rev did tend bar at Seven Oaks in Hamilton, which is a Robert Trent Jones designed course.  But as far as golfing goes, The Rev is so bad it is a felony.

Plenty of Robert Trent Jones' courses in Alabama, aren't there!

Did go to Toomey's Corner.  Did consume sweet tea.  Got turned down at Mellow Mushroom because it was too late for food.  spent a lot of time at The Olde Auburn Ale House.  Inconsistent.  Wednesday night the beer was great.  Friday night it tasted like cat urine mixed with chemical by-products.

Ugh!  :P

Stayed at the Auburn University Hotel.  Nice place.  Rev recommends the breakfast buffet.

Lots of food for a very good price!  I have stayed there many a time!  In fact, I got online in the Spring 2001 in the Auburn University Hotel and heard Catholic win the Final Four!   :)

Thanks for reminding me of Mises website!  I bookmarked it!

I hope The Rev acquires a taste for good Chimichangas!   :)

ummm, should gro stop using splenda in his coffee?  First my beloved splenda, and now this:

General Tso receives dishonorable discharge

Gro-
If General Tso's is something wrong, then Reg doesn't know what's right.  I mean seriously, it is like eating a plate of boneless chicken wings smothered in a delicious hot/asian sauce, covered in your choice of hot mustard, duck sauce or soy sauce.  Rumor has it that LD11 used to request "Blue Cheesche" from Lee Tang along with his GT.

Again, take away my TV, take away smirnoff ice, however, please leave the general tso's alone.

'gro

Gro will always be a loyal soldier in General Tso's army.  They could pass a law banning it and gro would be seen in some chinese food speakeasy eating GTC made in a bathtub converted into a giant wok.

Reg, would it be possible to combine ruck wings, GTC from lee tang, and a maselli's sub?  A troy garbage plate.

No, however, I hear that I love NY pizza has the wings and GT available on a slice as toppings.  As an added bonus, "Hot cheese cold cheese" is STANDARD on every slice.

Does anyone else get kind of pissed off when they walk into some no frills Chnese establishment and see 'General Gao's Chicken' on the menu?  One of my friend calls it 'Gao' and I've punched him in the face over it before.

Nothing wrong with a little real sugar, especially raw cane sugar.  Or if you are looking for a natural sugar substitute, JT recommends Stevia.  JT uses it a lot.  The sugar industry in the US has tried unsuccessfully to prevent its use.  But it is widely used around the world.

Speaking of Chinese restaurants...... http://www.manchesterconfidential.co.uk/index.asp?Sessionx=IpqiNwy6IWbrIaqiNwF6IHqi&realname=Pigeon_Brains_Yummy

"Stevia also has shown promise in medical research for treating such conditions as obesity and high blood pressure."

Oh so you mean to tell Reg if I don't slam a bag full of tootsie rolls a day washed down by a 12 pack of pepsi, that my chances of obesity, diabetis and high blood pressure are lowered substancially?

How about if I replace the 32 quarter pounders with cheese I eat in a day with 5- 400 calorie meals and get up off the couch and walk around for 5 minutes?  Will that reduce the size of my 800 pound waist?

realistic

as great as the current chinese food discussion is (no one is taking away my General Tso's either)...thought the LLPP would appreciate a little more Karen.

JT

Anyone catch the front page???  The DJAC is adding Brockport and SUNY Morrisville in 2008, and becoming a 10 team league.  Only 1 out of league game for each team.

realistic

JT - It's being discussed over on the E8 page.

Definately interesting for the whole region.  Assuming Cortaca stays as is, it looks like 'port will be lost off of Ithaca's schedule but overall is a huge move for Brockport.  Should help Morrisville immensely too, putting them in a high profile/competitive conference from the jump.  They'll be the doormat for a while, but it could really help in their recruiting, etc.
