Not enough SUNY schools have football teams to support a SUNYAC football league, so they join the NJAC. Seems fair enough. Travel sucks though.

Absolutely - but it actually helps some with the travel b/c Brockport, Buff St, Cortland and Morrisville at least aren't bad trips to one another.

Maybe the NJAC goes to an East and West division ala the SEC?

Sir Spiedie

Chairman---The writing is on the wall for that. 5 teams in each division, conference playoff at the end of the year in Giants stadium between division champs.

Actually its not bad.  Rowan is is the most Southern school in the NJAC.  Cortland and Morrisville are under 5 hours.  Buffalo and Brockport are about 8 hours.  This puts Montclair, Willy P, Kean at about 6.5 to Buffalo and Brockport and 4 hours to Cortland and Morrisville.  Take TCNJ and shave about 45 minutes off a trip to Rowan.  West Conn shouldn't be a bad trip either.

How does that work logistically. Let's say Montclair  v. Buffalo State @ Buffalo. When do you leave to play a Sat. noon game? When do you return?  Hopefully you leave Fri  at noon or so, get to Buffalo Fri evening/night, spend the night in a hotel, play the next day, shower, then leave. Get back, what, 10:00-11:00 pm? Please tell me you dont't get off a bus after riding for 7 hours and then play.

I am not sure how other school's handle things but IC generally busses the night before for most games.  The exceptions are short trips to places like Hobart and Cortland.

I'm sure there is a limit. Not sure what it is.  Buffalo and Brockport are definitely a bus trip.

Spiedie thinks Chairman Jose may be onto something. NJAC will go divisional and a playoff. This would also allow the NJ schools to play other more local (NJ and Pa) opponents and cut back on travel time.  Same for the NY component of the NJAC. Spiedies prediction: The NY/Conn division will start to play more E8 & LL schools.
Also, they will change the name of the conference.

Would be fun but no D3 teams are going to add conference title games.  Too bad too.

A loyalty element was mentioned at the last year's NJAC media day.  If the teams prove their loyalty to remain in the league, a name change wouldn't be out of the question.

LLPP definition of the day:

McDonald's face -  is the thousand-yard fast food worker stare, an expression made up of equal parts hopelessless, suppressed rage, and existential boredom.

PBR...

pbr thinks this is just the start of league shake ups.....with a couple of teams pulling out of the mac and moving to new leagues and lycomings rumored departure there are lots of rumors of things happening to the mac right now...schools seeem to be leaning towards going to the super conferences of east/west or north/south divisions like the sec
