Chairman---The writing is on the wall for that. 5 teams in each division, conference playoff at the end of the year in Giants stadium between division champs.

Can't really do that with a 10-team league. You don't get an 11th game for that title game unless you have a 12-team league.

If a team then wins the Conf. Champ. they most likely would go to the NCAA playoffs, no?

If this is the case, Garnet can see other conferences making the move to 12 teams.

If that conference has 12 teams split into two divisions, yes. And yes, that's what the NEFC does. Doesn't seem to have spurred formation of any 12-team leagues in the previous eight years, though.

thanks for the info.  Looks like 8 is the magic number for a football conference. you can play everyone and still have some out of conference games.
